The E & O is a 5 star rated hotel and I certainly agree. We stayed in the Victory annexure of hotel (room 907) and what a room. Overlooking the ocean, nice and quiet, very well appointed, plenty of room, great en-suite area, clean, tidy. The hotel in our opinion lived up to its reputation. The hotel in our opinion lived up to its reputation. Fruit, soft drinks, newspaper in the room daily (all complimentary). You do not have to lift a finger. The staff are extremely courteous and friendly in every area of the hotel, even by the pool without asking staff brought ice cold water (a nice touch). Breakfast was up to 5 star standard. The ambiance and décor of the hotel makes it relaxing and very pleasant. The happy hour (6pm to 7) just puts icing on the cake (again all complimentary). Having an ice cold beer or glass of wine watching the ocean and the thunder clouds roll in after a nice sunny day, magic. An excellent hotel, worth the rating and it is nice place to be pampered. There is a shuttle bus that will take you to Buta Ferringi beach area. Also the there is a boat launch that will take you over to Straits Quay for some shopping and a wander around. Both of these services are free to hotel guests. For your genuine (!!) products Bata Ferringi night market is probably the place to shop. As usual half the sellers asking price and take it from there, although the main shopping place (Parkson shopping centres) have some just bargains and the quality there is good. We were able to pick up an absolute bargain at of all places, the hotel (Bombay gift shop) gift shop. 2 antique Penang porcelain plates. These were authenticate by a personal visit to the dealer and provenance confirmed by way of published reference books. The woman in the gift shop could not have been more helpful with putting us in contact with the dealer and allaying any fears of purchasing reproduction or fraudulent items. To sum up, if you want 5 star pampering, the E & O served us well.

This is my 1st time at Sunway Hotel & it has proven to be the best so far in my numerous holiday breaks in PG. From the moment I stepped out of the car with my luggages to the customer service staff to the hous...The best so far! I was formerly from PG but no longer reside there for the past 30+years. My room is situated at the corner facing behind, yet the noise from the road is audible. I did prepare ear plugs but that didn't save me from the dogs barking at 2am for half an hour. Apparently the resident (house) behind kept a dog outside the garden at night. Thankfully it didn't bark the second night. If you are someone who is sensitive to noise, best stay in a hotel instead. The only reason I stay here because I am attending an event nearby.

How would i compare between Jen Hotel and st gail wemberly? After staying here same room type excutive suites with club access. I would prefer Jen hotel. If you want a bathtub, all jen rooms on a club levels has bathtub whereas wemberly executive superior does not. 5 stars and friendly staff on the club lounge, young people with a good attitude for good customer servic...How would i compare between Jen Hotel and st gail wemberly? I got told off on the ground floor by the restarant staff because i went to seat in their brand new seating areas, to me if they dont want guest to seat there yet they should have signs advising areas not ready yet for seating. Anyway did not bother me but goes to show they still need improvement when come to hospitality. Get uber or grab app, so cheap to get around places eg. By grab to penang hills OR botanic garden cost 8MYR. Airport to hotel 23MYR. Be expected this hotel does not have anyone to help you with luggage or give you a welcome greetings i didnt care and i prefer to will my luggage myself. If you are a guest wanting that kind of service, be aware that this hotel does not provide such service. I arrived midnight, the security guard just talk amoungst themselves. I stay here 5nights and try to interact with hotel staff minimum as possible except for club lounge staff they are wonderful. If the price is right and cheaper than Jen hotel for the club rooms i would stay here again. Level 30 skybar not part of the hotel business indepently owned, be aware its not cheap if you want a drink or two. I already have a drink earlier in the hotel club lounge and decided to checked out the skybar you need to order a drink otherwise they wont let you in to see the views. Fair enough business is business

Suppose i am booking for the next door St Gile Wimbley. But accidentally booked this hotel as i can't recall St Gile Wimbley name. When look at the address it should be the place local called "2nd Avenue". And the price is attractived. So I booked it. When i when there, realize there are 2 hotels at same location. Anyway the first impression is plentty of convenience carpark. 7 stoleys Wow. Don't worry need to park outside like the high end J hotel at opposite. When i check in the young sweet staff is very efficiency on her job. She is friendly to, important is she remember the customer's name. (Not only me, i observed she remember other customers too). Her information is clear and direct to the point. And she always very patient with questions. I was surprised it is included breakfast although i did not booked for. But if more local dishes and vegetarian available will even better. The chef in the Japanese is very helpful to explain me every single single dish. I give low mark is not food not nice but only few dishes available. I feel very secure here as the life only activated with card key. Further more safe in room. The room is pretty nice although small but is enough. I like the shower very much powerful shower and the warm water flow is easy to control. The toilets bowl and basin using Toto brand. Surprise, and it is very comfortable. Overall, i feel this is a value 3 star hotels. Good for a business traveller who only need a good bed, no hassle parking space and nice place to take refreshing shower. High speed Internet also a plus point. Hope other hotels should align to this hotel so it can be more competence overall. Thank you.

located at jalan penang, cititel is right in the heart of action, be it the famous kheng pin (serves lor bak!) or the clubs and pubs (mois! slippery senorita!) or the colonial hotel eastern and oriental (most excellent weekend teas!), they are all within a stone's throw away. it might not be 5 star beach front hotel but i would rather stay here than at batu ferranghi, ...located at jalan penang, cititel is right in the heart of action, be it the famous kheng pin (serves lor bak!) or the clubs and pubs (mois! slippery senorita!) or the colonial hotel eastern and oriental (most excellent weekend teas!), they are all within a stone's throw away. it might not be 5 star beach front hotel but i would rather stay here than at batu ferranghi, which in my opinion is severely overrated. the rooms are ok but some might find that they need a little revamp. however the service of the staff compensates for it. friendly and they even offered tips on where to grab the best of the local fare :) highly recommended for those who ain't overly particular on facades! :p

Before we do the booking, the bring us to 3 rooms to have a look. They never hesitate to reply our doubts and questions. We feel like home coming as they treat us like an honourable guest although we have only done a booking for one night. Two thumbs up for Armenian and definitely 5 stars rate for overall services. The best out of the best.

Normally, we’ll never stay in same hotel for the second time. But we make exceptional for Royale Chulan Penang because this is our favouritest. Everything about this hotel is BEST. We’re using superlative form because hell yeah this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed. I’m so in love with this place. Thanks Royale Chulan Penang and see u again soon. At first i was a bit hesitant to booked in this hotel. By the name itself 1926 Heritage Hotel, it crossed my mine antique houses, of course! when its old it has something different. However it was a bit too late for me to looked for any other hotel online. (i.e. i booked the hotel less than a week before my flight to Penang from Johore. and because it was a late night ...At first i was a bit hesitant to booked in this hotel. By the name itself 1926 Heritage Hotel, it crossed my mine antique houses, of course! when its old it has something different. However it was a bit too late for me to looked for any other hotel online. (i.e. i booked the hotel less than a week before my flight to Penang from Johore. and because it was a late night flight. i decided to booked rather than look for a hotel by the time we got there ).But contrary to all my weird imagination.. the hotel's atmosphere is completely different. Once inside, i felt like im just a foot away from home. From accommodating staff to the room itself.. very nostalgic.. I also got the experience of being able to feel how governor used to live.Wow!!!truly high-class.. In the morning we had complimentary breakfast buffet style. Food is good. The location of the hotel is not so far away from Komtar (main bus station).. If your business is to mainly to (jalan-jalan)scout around, do sight seeing it is best to walk. Find and appreciate all other heritage buildings which are not even included in the brochure's map..once you do all the sight seeing, it is not so hard to find your way back to your hotel since buses passes in its main road.

Garden food court is a few steps away (where the famous kimpo duck rice is located ).. maybe the building is a little bit old (the others have the newer and better appearance than this one.. but of course they are more costly).. almost every grab or uber driver know where it is.. this hotel is near to all of point interests in penang (3-6rm by uber). i book family room for 4persons..with breakfast..the food is almost the same for 3days.. but looking at the price it is good lahh.. very reasonable.. and the staff is very helpful.. they changed the bed sheet and towel everyday..so happy to stay in this hotel for 3nights

My room is at 7th floor, room 707, because all floor are tiles, and brick walls, i can hear lift bells, people walk and talk quite loud because of the echo. its happen sometimes, depends of your room neighbor i guess. Maybe the hotel management need to do something about it. The door its not sound proof at all. thats all my review. Anyway we have fun in penang.

We stayed in Hotel Neo Plus Penang for the first 2 nights and were very reluctant to change to the next hotel. True enough, Neo Plus was way better than our second hotel in many areas like location, room size, and cleanliness, breakfast spread and facilities. True enough, Neo Plus was way better than our second hotel in many areas like location, room size, and cleanliness, breakfast spread and facilities. Firstly, the location is excellent and is within walking distance to many attractions like Jalan Magazine, Jalan Armenian and best of all, it is very near (less than 10 mins walk) to the best Nasi Kandar stall in Georgetown, Deen Maju! Even when you use Grab or Uber, it will take you less than RM10 to reach Fort Cornwallis (depending on demand). Secondly, we got the family room that can accommodate the 3 of us, and it was spacious. The room looks spanking new and the toilet was clean and comfortable. From our room window, we could also see Komtar, the tallest building in Penang clearly and that was quite a sight to marvel at, especially at night. Thirdly, the breakfast spread was decent but tasted great. It will sure be able to satisfy your morning hunger and keep you energized for the later walk around Georgetown. The menu also changes during the two days we stayed at the hotel. Very simple fare like rice, noodles, sausage, chicken, salad spread, bread and buns, fruits, porridge, cereals and some others. They also have an egg station where you can order any type of egg you desire. Decent, simple but filling. Lastly, the swimming pool on the top floor can be considered small but the view was stunning. Be careful of the rough edges around the pool as it is rather sharp and not fitted properly. The management can perhaps install a drinks and snacks bar on top to make the place livelier. Other small mentions include the mini mart that is located in the hotel lobby, great for buying drinks and snacks. There is also a cafe at the ground floor and we received 1 complimentary drink each. The drink wasn't great but

Overall good, I booked for family rooms, pictures from agoda is totally different when you walk in into the room. I seriously think that Agoda should change all the hotels photos in the booking website with current hotel condition, travelers are not cheated by the hotels, for me it's all Agoda pictures. The cleanliness is good, I cannot say it's excellent, nice pool but no any pool towel, have to bring room towel, have no choice in breakfast, the hotel management should change the menu in daily basis. Provided salt instead of pepper for fried eggs, lucky i noticed and they changed it to pepper. Its seems the cook is new (foreigner), just smile for everything we ask. Excellent free parking for hotel guest, since it's a old building, parking are a bit narrow, careful when you drive a big cars,nice location, friendly reception, value for money for those who prefer budget stay with family, need for power point and a bit slow wifi.

The Wi-Fi is intermittent at best. I see no repeaters or Wi-Fi extenders in the hallways. Usually I get about 10 minutes from time to time then it disconnects. It seems that it usually disconnects right in the middle of me doing something important. I then go down the road to an internet café to send my important emails. We come to Penang every year (for 10 years now) and stay in hotels from 3 weeks to as much as 3 months. This was the first time at the Merchant Hotel. Even though the room is a five star room and the staff is great, I will never return because of the intermittent Wi-Fi.

You can get some stuff from 7-11 or Home Mart 24 hrs. Did not try gym or pool coz Penang offers too many outdoor activities. Love to visit again. Info stayed at 17 floor. Carpark is foc. Info breakfast included but the food was not up to 4 star hotel mark, skip it and try hawker food for breakfast.

GLOW Penang was really a surprise as when we booked the hotel, we knew it was 3 stars and thus managed our expectations accordingly. But honestly, GLOW should be rated 4 in terms of service, cleanliness and rooms. Their buffet breakfast was really good for a 3 star hotel. There were pastries, savouries (like rice or noodles) and cereals. Their scrambled eggs are aweso...GLOW Penang was really a surprise as when we booked the hotel, we knew it was 3 stars and thus managed our expectations accordingly. But honestly, GLOW should be rated 4 in terms of service, cleanliness and rooms. Their buffet breakfast was really good for a 3 star hotel. They also had a pool and a pool bar, which my friend and I frequented for the ambience. Their in-room service was also efficient. When we checked in, there were no towels so we made a call to reception. We went out of our room after that. When we returned, we wanted to put a call to reception to remind them about the towels, but to our pleasant surprise the towels were already there. Impressive! One thing which I feel they could improve was to have 24-hour in-room dining. Yes there are a lot of eateries outside the hotel, and they have a restaurant from 9am to 5pm, but it'll be nice to have the option of munching something at night in the comfort of our room. But that's a small matter. I will definitely come back to GLOW on my next trip to Penang!

It is only about 10 mins walk to the COMMTA (can't remember the spell)which is the shopping and transportation center. what's more the hotel is 10 mins walk to a lot famou...We stayed there four nights. Lucky we were on the 9th floor this time. Supprisingly, we saw the ocean throm our room's window and it was a ocean view room. Great location was the best of the stay. It is only about 10 mins walk to the COMMTA (can't remember the spell)which is the shopping and transportation center. what's more the hotel is 10 mins walk to a lot famous eating site. But there was also 2 down points. 1. We are not able to check in before 14. Additional fee will be charged for early check in. We took the overnight flight and exausted when we found the hotel. And we waited over 1.5 hours to be checked in. 2. Someone triggered fire alarm in the hotel(most probably sb smoked in the room). It occured twice in our 4 nights stay!!! All others are good, and I will recommend it a valuable hotel to stay.

Last but not least, the roof top bar is serving free and unlimited coffee, cookies and ice cream, also the complimentary red wine is so so sweet to us! Will definitely recommend to all my friends who visit to Penang to stay at this hotel as the services are much more better than some of the 5 star hotel!

I have never had such a bargain for a hotel ! It has an unbelievable location within 5 minutes walk to KOMTAR, right in the middle of all the best food icons . The service is right up there with the very best 5 star hotels and the rooms are spanking new, clean and extremely comfortable. There is also a simple but very adequate buffet breakfast. I honestly think th...I have never had such a bargain for a hotel ! It has an unbelievable location within 5 minutes walk to KOMTAR, right in the middle of all the best food icons . The service is right up there with the very best 5 star hotels and the rooms are spanking new, clean and extremely comfortable. There is also a simple but very adequate buffet breakfast. I honestly think that it would be extremely difficult to beat Hotel Sentral for VALUE.

we booked a triple room with separate rooms, and it looked exactly as the pictures. the beds were comfy and clean, bathroom was also clean. I was actually very pleased to get the room with window facing straight to the street, but bcos Penang was extremely hot during our visit (33 to 34°C), the room's temp was not great. fortunately, the hotel provided us with addition...we booked a triple room with separate rooms, and it looked exactly as the pictures. the beds were comfy and clean, bathroom was also clean. I was actually very pleased to get the room with window facing straight to the street, but bcos Penang was extremely hot during our visit (33 to 34°C), the room's temp was not great. fortunately, the hotel provided us with additional cooler. the staff was also nice to let us checked in earlier (around 12pm), and gave us a late check-out too, until 1.30pm. deposit was 100 RM, and 12 RM per night for tax, which you will pay when you checked in. location and its surroundings were good, not too noisy at night, and just a little walk to ride the CAT free bus (alight from Nasi Kandar Pelita). all in all, me and my parents were satisfied during our stay at Eton Hotel :)

This location is most ideal & strategic to complete my purpose. Staff is overly polite to assist & most helpful even to book a Grab to my next stay, Hotel G in Gurney. Love this row of old houses with high ceiling to create a serene & tranquil atmosphere. Nostalgic even because this lobby was the house of my schoolmate in the 1970. The room was more than adequate with delightful ancient touches, especially with the flip open windows and the most surprising ceiling fan. I enjoyed my 3D2N stay in Areca Hotel most wonderfully. Feels just like a top end four star hotel less the swimming pool. Great location - walking distance to Penang road where all the local shops for the cheap sleepwear, t shirts & jerseys, medical oils, five spice powders & tau sar piahs. Not forgetting the famous laska, cendol stand and nasi kandar shop yummy just located 10mins away from the hotel. The night food centre too also 10 mins away. If it was easy access for me with a overactive kid & a wheelchair bound, you all will love the place. Lastly, my 5 year old son discovered a penang rapid bus travelling from the hotel to komtar & batu ferringi (sun shine coast with horse riding) & gurdey drive for RM1.50. Will definately be back with my work buddies!

There is even a garden where you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and surf the Internet. The best thing about the hotel however is Jesse. He is stellar, always smiling and very quick and attentive to fulfill our requests. His laughs are contagious so be careful when you talk to him! He is engaging and a great conversatiionist with an array of topics. He knows customer service and it is very well appreciated by us. We walked away with heavy backpacks but a light warm feeling about our experience with the hotel and GT because of Jesse. Hope all your dreams come true Jesse! We will miss you!

What I love about this hotel is the care they offer their guests. This boutique hotel have the most amazing staff. I had tummy trouble during my stay and was sick the entire time. Miss Christine helped me with my laundry concerns and told me directions where to eat. Miss Irene helped me buy the medicine for my diarrhea from the pharmacy across the hotel. And Mr. Tony was so so so kind enough as to accompany me in the early hours of the morning just to show me where the 24-hour clinic was located in Little India. I'm deeply touched by the genuine gesture and I would never have expected to receive such excellent customer service from them. I'll be forever grateful for their kindness. I'll definitely book with Armenian Suite Hotel again in a heartbeat!
