We stayed at Star City for a quick layover during a recent trip to vietnam. We loved the hotel, however, and would definitely recommend it. The location wouldn't be great for touring Saigon, but with the costs of taxis(cheap cheap) it might still be worth it. When we checked in we were in our room within 5 minutes of arrival, and the room was fantastic. Clean and modern - exactly what we were looking for. The price was right, too, an excellent deal for the quality of the hotel. Would definitely stay here again. Oh and a taxi ride from the airport is only about $3! Can't beat that either

I booked double delux room and stayed for about a week. The breakfast buffet had a variety of local food. Staffs are professional. The location is convenient for the commute to airport but hotel charge a fee for airport shuttle so I took taxi no problem. The overall experience was good for the price but some areas that hotel should improve on to maintain 5 stars status. The room was spacious with comfy bed. Nice pool. No ac in the gym. The shower design is strange. Nice size tub but shower curtain smell moldy. Doesn't look like it was changed regularly. The shower head position caused water to collect outside the tub area and flood the bathroom floor. This could also be a reason for moldy smell. Hotel should look into fixing that. I also found 2 baby roaches running around in the room so could be more. I would not be a happy customer if I had to pay the full price listed on their website for this room. I would stay here again but will ask for different room.

This hotel located not too far from the airport. If taking taxi, the meter will be only 50,000 VND. However, the taxi driver will expect about 100,000 VND as minimum rate from the airport. There are 3 separated buildings in this 3-star hotel, so if possible, get more information from the hotel before let the taxi gone. I myself had to walk to another building due to the taxi dropped me in a wrong building. Next to this 3-star hotel, there is a 4-star hotel with same name (address change from 200 to 202). Next to the 4-star hotel, there is a Big C supermarket, so it is very convenient and just walk for 5 minutes (from the last building). There is no elevator in this 3-star hotel, so if you have a big luggage, try to request for a room on the ground floor. If you felt insecure to stay in the ground floor, you can request for a room without window....you will felt more secure then. Food / breakfast in this hotel is tasty with varieties of choices. I personally enjoy dessert section. Have a good experience to stay with this hotel. (Actually, I stayed here for more than 4 nights, but only one night that I booked via Agoda, but the price from Agoda is better deal though).

I stay at this hotel every month while travelling to hcmc for business. Close to airport and only a small trip to D1 centre. I recommend this hotel for business and or travellers that may not want to spend big money staying in hcmc. The staff are great speak English fluently and do all they can to help if there is a problem. The breakfast is a mix of both western and asian. But most importantly there prices for both lunch or drinks are very cheap. It is always a pleasure staying at this hotel. Its not a 4 or 5 star but its worth the money to stay.

A fairly recent hotel with very well kept facilities. The location is at a business district with lots of banks ; close to airport. Across the main road, you will find Starbucks. A great BBQ restaurant opposite hotel. Within 500 km , there are shopping fashion retail outlets, restaurants, coffee shop, ATM, a local wet market and a vinhmart convenient stall (mostly found by the back lane if you would explore on foot abit ). Within 1-2 km, bigger shopping malls can be found by taxi . Reasonable good spread of breakfast and excellent pho. Both male and female receptionist staffs spoke great English and are very helpful. All the staff including the restaurant manager are always smiling and the hotel managers even took personal affort to make pho for guest every morning. I stayed there for 4 nights and saw them every morning happily serving and connecting with guests. The male receptionist went out of the way to help me make arrangement for transportation to various places i.e. Photo shop, cross border run at Cambodia etc and even help me negotiate good taxi prices for the cross border run and even help me book cheaper taxi fare on grab app for other locations. I ran into problem when the taxi driver refused to honor his agreed price at the end of the cross border journey . The hotel deputy general manager stepped in to help mediate the situation for nearly an hour and resolve all my language barrier and difficulties with the taxi driver . I have no words for all the generosity and help rendered by the hotel management and their staff. I am a seasoned traveler , having been to more than 30 countries and stayed in various hotels both big and small . I would say I have never come across such excellent customer service from a hotel ( not even from 5 star hotels ). From the various affairs of the hotel , this hotel is very well run and the hotel management is very helpful and hands-on ; leading the good example to their staff in terms of customer service. We stayed here for the purpose of catching up our flight in the early morning on the next day. We took the taxi from the Ho Chi Mingh City center to the hotel, however the taxi driver did't know the route to the hotel exactly because lots of roads in Ho Chi Mingh City are one-way streets, if you are unlucky to get into a wrong direction, you must find a proper exit. So be careful to confirm whether the driver knows the place or not. The staffs there are friendly, they helped us to call a taxi in the early morning, it just took us 15 mins around to the airport, and the customs-check process is very fast in the morning because of less people. The wifi signal in 7th floor is still strong enough. Unfortunately the hot-water in our room in level 7 is not hot enough even we left the water flowing out for 15 mins. But my friend staying in level 6 said it's ok in his floor. At last, one small suggestion to all travellers visiting Vietnam: Please try not to book the "Hanh Cafe" bus tickets to Mui Ne or return. It's a nightmare for us to take their bus from Mui Ne to Ho Chi Mingh City. They promised us to pick up us at hotel at 7.20am but we wait till 7.50am. After we got on the bus, their two staffs forced us to change our original seats to some broken seats and leave our seats to their Vietnam people. We are not willing to change at the beginning, however, they scolded us loudly with extremely bad manner, threw our belongings and even want to beat us. That's really a crazy behavior. We even didn't figure our why they would treat their customers in this way. Maybe that's their way, they did the same thing to the other English couple. We tried to argue with them but finally we found it doesn't work, and we just kept calm, as long as they can take us to Ho Chi Mingh safely. Maybe we are just the unfortunate guys, but please do not repeat our experience to try to take Hanh Cafe bus, even their price is cheaper than others'.

We chose Kim Yen Hotel because we were arriving late after a long flight and wanted somewhere close to the airport. It was clean, everything worked including the airconditioning, and the very helpful staff were an unexpected bonus. We have booked to stay there again the night we leave Vietnam. It's only 15 minutes from the airport - a $5 taxi trip. It may not suit travellers who want a central location, but we enjoyed wandering around the local market and streets.

I am absolutely filled with satisfaction of the hotel's services. I love the quietness of the location and the perfect enthusiasm as well as the best hospitality of all the staff. with the lovely price, u could scarcely find the same service with equal magnitude of best in the vicinity. If u have a bike to travel around, the distance to downtown seems to cause u no trouble. If not, you find it still ok when the taxi service is available everywhere or simply u just walk. If you are chinese speaking mandarin, u can use your own language to communicate with a female receptionist, by that way u make clear of your requirements.

generally hotel near the airport, found easily by taxi. You should use grabcar or uber for moving in Saigon. Because I am a Vietnamese so I don't criticize staff in speaking English. the room is quite clean and you can have shower by hot water. it has a cable TV. the room is quite less breathing and it has a fan and a conditioner. I think that is quite good for the price in agoda. I hide for 255.000vnd for single room about 11 USD.

I wish they had told me that there were extra charges for early check-in. They charged us for another night's worth for checking in early when we checked out, without any prior knowledge. I understand if that's what they have to do, but they didn't tell us anything until we were leaving. I find it dishonest and shady. Wouldn't book again. The location is on a one-way street so you'd have to wait if your taxi or Grab car is coming from the opposite direction.

This hotel was good with nice view. However it was far from the city center so If you want to travel around city you have to call a taxi or Uber, Grab. They've been selling coffee and some other water at there Around this hotel we have a Cleaner Store if you want to wash of clothes you can go there. They've been selling noodles near this hotel. Inshort. It was good with the price.

We booked a double-bed room, we got what we booked. Room size is average. Our room has full bath with a bath tub, it is decorated ok with a good bed. We felt quiet when staying inside the room. Fixtures, tv and refrigerator are working fully. The hotel's elevator was working properly, we rarely had to wait long. Receptionists and other hotel's employees are friendly and helful. There was only a disappointment with a taxi driver who misrepresented his fares charged from the TSN Airport to the hotel when we forgot to choose the car that has its fare-meter operated. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel.

Location This motel (I wouldn't consider it a hotel) is 15 minutes from the airport (take only Vinasun or Ma Linh taxis as they are the safest). Located near lots of eateries and a relatively big supermarket within 5 minutes walk from the motel. If you want to go to Dist 1, a taxi ride of about 20 minutes is convenient (roughly US$5). 1st Agoda Customer When I reached the hotel reception, the guy seated there couldnt speak English. If not for my Vietnamese friends, I wouldnt be able to check in. It will be good if Agoda can perform a simple verification to ensure the staff of any of their listed hotels can speak English. I was told that I was the 1st Internet customer, and they werent even sure if I paid for my stay there until my friends clarified. Reception Service The motel staff were friendly even though they couldnt speak English to me. Carried my luggage to the 4th floor. Polite, but need to have a Vietnamese friend / guide to speak with them still. Amenities & whatever the room has... Clean room, air conditioned, 2 ceiling fans, a sizable refrigerator, big bed (don't expect a King Koil mattress), hard pillows, thin towels (suggest you go to the nearby supermarket and buy a simple towel for US$3).. but the washroom / bathroom is really small. I am not a fussy person, but I have to say you might not get used to tight spaces. The room has a nice dressing table though. Room Service & Security Do this at your own risk. If you decide to have the room made up, cleaned, you need to surrender your room key to the main reception. Dont expect high class security systems as this is a very simple motel where people can walk in and out without being checked. Best to keep your belongings all locked up in your luggage or else bring the room key out whereever you go with your room locked. Summary On the whole, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. You have to go with a mindset you are staying in a motel and not a hotel. Enjoy!

This hotel is far from the tourist area. The room was comfortable enough, though the furniture was arranged in such a way that the bathroom door couldn't open all the way without hitting the closet with a loud bang. The wi-fi was useless in the room, but it worked in the stairwell. The people at the desk spoke good English and helped us find a restaurant to our liking (though we found another location of the same restaurant closer to the hotel on the way back...) Also, be careful of taxi drivers making a "mistake" and taking you to the Lam Son Hotel.

We arrived early and asked for an early checked in. They didnt have a y rooms ready for us and asked us to come back later. We asked when we should return, and she said about an hour. We said we were tired and would wait there instead, wnich she said it was fine, but as,ed us to sit in the reception office and not the lobby of the hotel which was not comfortable at all. We were offered a different room than what we booked, but no extra charge. The room was clean, but was missing towels. Had to ask for it. The internet was okay. If you are simply looking for a place to sleep with not much accomidities, this is okay.

We chose this hotel for our last night following a 13 night stay in Vietnam due to its location near to the airport and sadly for only one night but our stay was 1st class from start to finish. Initially we had booked a premium room but decided to upgrade to an executive room as the extras suited our circumstances. On arrival at the airport we were met by a member of staff, who sadly we cant remember the name of, his appearance was impeccably and really stood out from the remainder of the other transfer agents waiting there, immediately we were impressed and our first impression was confirmed throughout our stay. The young man who greeted us was so smartly dressed, professional and yet friendly and welcoming and escorted us to our transport which whisked us through the frenetic Saigon traffic in air-conditioned comfort in about 10 minutes. On arrival at the hotel we were warmly welcomed and our luggage was carried inside for us by the courteous staff and we were ushered into the executive lounge reception where another immaculately dressed member of staff checked us in and explained the benefits of our executive package. We requested a late check out for the following day which was obliged with the hotel also throwing in a free private return transfer (in one of their beautiful Mercedes cars as it turned out) and meant that we could keep our room until we checked out at 16:45 hrs which far exceeded what we had expected. The hotel foyer and adjoining restaurants and cafes were very stylish and added to our positive first impressions. Our Club Deluxe Room was on the 7th floor and on our way there it was clear from the decor of the foyer and corridors that this really was a very smart hotel. On entering our room we were instantly impressed with the decor, size and facilities that the room contained and apart from the courtyard view from our window, which may have been better had we booked to stay longer, it contained everything that we could have wished for with

i'm in love with this placemy home away from home! i chose it based on good reviews and because it was near the airport and i was arriving in late to hcmc. i booked two nights originally and then planned to stay in district 1 (tourist area) after some time at the coast, it ended up returning here because i love this place! rooms are a good size and very clean. be aware there is no elevator, but the sweet staff will insist on taking your bags up for you. the staff do not speak much english so if that is an issue for you, be advised. the hotel is set back in a little alley way behind the main street, which has a bit of a european feel to it. nearby gia dinh park is a true gem. you won't encounter many tourists in this neighborhood, which if you're like me is a good thing. i met a couple expats living here who were friendly and invited me for tea or coffee. it's easy to get nearly anywhere in the city from here. a taxi to district 1 is about 80k vnd, or 4 usd. this is a great spot for travelers who plan to explore beyond district 1, as q. phu nhuan, where it it located is very central.

Staff was very accommodating, we had the fellow that delivered our bags to the room go out of his way to have my wife's water pic fixed (at a very reasonable price) after it burned up in the 240 outlet. He also let us keep & use his transformer for the duration of our trip as not to ruin anything else using our adapter. The maid was excellent, kept our room clean & was always very friendly and smiling. My Vietnamese is very limited, but carried on very friendly conversations with my wife. Even though we had a 2 person room, the staff always allowed family members to visit with us in our room. It became as if several family members were as welcomed into the hotel as we were. The room was adequate for us as we were there to visit family in Phu Nhuan & Go Vap districts. Close to the market, shopping areas, restaurants, airport & family. I would stay there again if visiting family, the price was reasonable and the staff did all they could for us. The phone & TV reception left a lot to be desired, but we were not in the room too often.

Beautiful hotel, we stayed there 1 night as we were flying out to danang next day. Staff are absolutely beautiful. Hotel is 3 star, but there service is 5 star. Highly recommend to any traveller staying few nights in Saigon. Hotel decor is amazing. Recommend climbing book stair case if you are brave. If you are catching a taxi into town be sure to grab hotel card as taxi drivers don't have a clue where hotel is as it is tucked away nicely away from the busy street Overall extremely happy with hotel and service I felt I was in Paris when I stayed here

We booked a twin room but we were given 2 huge beds and a big, spacious, luxurious room which was more than what we expected. They supplied free bottled water and coffee everyday. There is a mini ref so you can buy food from outside, store it inside the ref and let them reheat it for you the next morning. The staff were courteous and speaks good English. It might not be in District 1 but we wanted a quiet and more laid back sleeping quarters so this is perfect, big bonus is the Starbucks right across the street. Room was spic and span and towels were replaced daily. The only setback was the bathtub height which was quite high for an average Asian (I'm 4'11) and the unfinished construction in front of the hotel but these are just minor because overall, service was A-OK. Would highly recommend this hotel to my friends.
