"I've 8 hour flight tired on board from Kuala Lumpur Instead of add on 2hour trip from my city at Malacca. I've take a skybus to Southern Cross when arrived. 1st thing I need is a good rest. With a small budget ; highly recommended Queen Elizabeth Hostel to stay for my 1st pit stop. There's good facilities inside the hostel which is provided a dorm for all type backpacker (solo / group / duo) . Near the hostel we can get food stuff to fulfil our breakfast, lunch or dinner. No worries for your transportation. Take your journey to anywhere in the city using public transportation here. Ask your hostel frontdesk and they will guide you too. Victorian is very friendly people. Afterwards, I recommend to stay back at the hostel and walk around the city before you go back. Take a walk city, land to Queen Victoria Market. Have a heaven shopping there. You can get your miss stuff / souvenir at the market and also get local food there. Around 5-10 minutes walk from the Queen Elizabeth Hostel."

"It was my first experience living in a backpacker hostel. Space Hotel delivered above my expectation. They have gym, Kitchen, Movie Room, Pub, Laundry Room, perfect roof top view. Room cleanliness - fantastic. Highly satisfied. Locker - big enough to fit in my big luggage. Bathroom - they have sufficient bathrooms as we can use bathroom from other floors - and I did not need to wait to use the bathroom. And it was really clean. Kitchen - it is spacious enough and has all that you need for cooking. Location - fantastic. I was initially comparing with other hotel that was located nearer to tram stations, however, with extra few minutes walk, this hotel is totally worth it. Its just about 9mins walk from Queen Victoria Market, and I could easily walk to places that I intended to visit. Highly highly satisfied with the location. Staff - reception staff will answer your question, just missing the smile. Overall, perfect. Highly recommended!"

"the arrow on swanston is located on the top end of swanston street, the street that runs right through the heart of the cbd. this makes is the perfect location for anyone visiting the city. because it's not smack bang in the middle of swanston it means you're not surrounded by noisy people or music blaring, but you're not at all far from the action. there's a convenience shop next door that sells the basics and an aldi round the corner for those that want to buy in food. the rooms include a hob, fridge + freezer, microwave etc... our bathroom was extremely spacious, with even a seat to sit down on in the shower, and the room itself was nicely furnished with a big tv and a mirrored wardrobe. bring hangers if you actually intend on hanging your clothes up though. the staff were pleasant enough. my only minor complaint would be that i struggled with my bags as i arrived before my partner and noone thought to help, but i guess they are busy people. overall, this is one of the cheaper appartments we found and can't understand why. its location is perfect for those wanting to explore the city or attractions such as the melbourne gaol or the queen victoria markets."

The free City circle trams stop just outside the hotel allowing us to take advantage of the service. My wife enjoyed shopping at the famed Queen Victoria Market, which is just 10 minutes walk away. The staff has been most helpful in giving us directions and tips for touring Melbourne city and surround."

"Overall stay in Ibis Melbourne was great! Easy access to Queen Victoria Market which could find a good local breakfast and souvenirs. Allow early check-in which really help us a lot as after a long hour flight we were super tired. Room and clean and comfortable, especially the bed and pillow, we both have good sleep everyday. However, the only thing that I was not so happy about was the house-keeping staff, there was 1 day I found my personal tiny pillow under the bed, I was not sure how can this be happened. Hence my advice is don't put your personal stuff on the bed if you are going to let them clean your room. "
