Very seldom do I write reviews for hotel stays but I feel that I will be doing Mode Sathorn a great injustice if I don't write this one for her. For the price we pay, it's definitely one of the best stays for all my years of travelling. The check-in late at night was fuss free and we got a room with 2 queen size beds. We requested for a king bed room and got put into a waiting list because the hotel was fully booked that day. The wait was pretty long but in the end we got what we wanted the next night. Welcome drink coupons were issued upon check-in and you are free to visit the bar or restaurant to redeem the drinks. And not those fruit punch crap but real drinks. You can order your free beers, cocktails, soft drinks, etc. We went to their Theater Bar late one night to chill and enjoy our free drinks. Theater Bar is great. Lovely and modern decor accompanied with trendy music. Definitely makes you feel like clubbing when you step in. Never expected the breakfast to be good. There are plenty of variety on offer. You won't get bored. The free Wifi provided is awesome. I always have problems with crappy Wifi connection during my overseas travel but Mode Sathorn's Wifi is fast and reliable! The king-size bed, pillows, quilt are all super comfortable, comparable to those on offer at 5 stars hotel. Once you sink in, you not want to get up. Air-conditioning works great. At some points we had to off them cause it got so cold. lol. But we are not complaining. Tip: Location is great. This hotel is just next to Surasak BTS so use this as your launch pad for your moving about in Bangkok cause the traffic can be horrendous.

I was very pleased with my accomdations and the hotel quality...it was high quality service and facility without the 5 star price. Yet I have never stayed in a 5 star place and probably never will. But that is what I think. I was booked into a studio and was upgraded to studio suite at no extra cost. There was a delay in checking in but had a free drink from the bar while I waited. In fairness I was early. Room was excellent and had a decent view. Two rooms, bath, kitchen and balcony. Good shower and spacious bathroom, comfy bed and as always free water in refer. The breakfast was an experience truely international and never ran out. Had a dinner one evening and that was excellent as well, but you get what you pay for. The room cost with breakfast for this place was reasonable. Plus you got van service to some locations for nothing other than a minimal tip to the driver. The hotel staff was helpful and always willing to get things done and provide advice and info. The spa was good and you pay for the environment...I can say I had massages as good as or even better for much less...but the experince is all part of the whole. The pool area was large and well kept, fitness center was full of folks and pools towels big. Overall you can have a very good stay here for a good price and it was my kick-off to being in Thailand, so I was well rested from my 21 hours in transit by the time I ventured north. Stay with confidance and enjoy the breakfast...cruise ships could take note from this place.

We had an amazing 3 night stay at this hotel. It was our last 3 days in Thailand, after staying in moderatley budget accommodation. we spend the extra money, and booked a 2 room suite at Anantara Sathorn, hoping that it would be nice; We were certainly NOT disappointed! the staff were all so lovely and helpful. Upon checkin, we were asked if we would like a cot in our room for our youngest child. Not long after arriving to our room, our bags and the cot were there too. The suite was amazing. the master bedroom was massive, with ensuite bathroom (and the huge bed was so comfortable!). the 2nd bedroom was reasonably sized, with 2 single beds, and enough room to move around. we had a big open kitchen/dining room and a lounge room that opened out onto a balcony, with a great view of the city. The buffet breakfast was incredible, and varied. The elevators were super quick, and the pool was nice and big (and a nice temperature too. I read some reviews that were from around New Years Eve, that weren't so good, and I dare say it was super booked and busy then, but we did not have any negative experience. The staff were very helpful with any request we had, and even booked us a taxi to get to the airport (even though they had their own more expensive transfer service). One of the best hotels we have stayed in (though we have not stayed in many 5 star hotels). Would definitely recommend.

This is really the five star hotel, for me the best hotel I have ever stayed. Location is very good, directly opposite to the skytrain station SURASAK on the S line. The hotel is one year old, everything is new, the rooms are big and clean, the bathroom is perfect, try to go up, I was on the 25 floor and have excellent view of the city. What was the best on the hotel is the pool, you can find it on the 14 floor. When I first see it, I have stopped breathing, its really amazing!!! The second fabulous thing was the breakfast, it was perfect. A the end, Eastin is the five star hotel, with the five star rooms and five star profesional service (best in thailand!), and magnificent pool with amazing look over the city. I love this hotel and definitely will come back!

On my many trips to Bangkok, we stayed in various hotels and areas. The Siri Sathorn was by far the best of both worlds. The location was lovely, clean and hip with 5 star hotels (Sukhothai and Bayan Tree close by), the amazing Lumphini Park and high class condos and residences. But the feel was a quietly quaint neighborhood not a commercial strip. There were a number of really good restaurants within 5 minute walk - both Thai and foreign. It was a short walk to both the MRT and the BTS trains, which takes you almost anywhere in Bangkok. The Sala Daeng stop on the BTS has a fabulous mall, which I used to view on my walks to Bangkok Christian Hospital for my annual check-up but never ventured into it until this trip. The basement has wonderful supermarket surrounded by many quality restaurants and the upper floors has anything that you would need. The two bedroom apartment at the Siri Sathorn was a joy to the entire family; my daughters had their own room and bathroom with large tub and they never wanted to leave it. There was a full open kitchen and counter separating the living room and 3 televisions in the place. Now you could have all that and still have bad service but without exaggeration - the service from the Concierge, front desk, restaurant personnel and housekeeping was the best we ever had in any hotel.

the aetas lumpini hotel on rama iv road was amazing! the food, the professionally trained staff, the clean and elegant rooms were all 5 star. the pool was closed for two days because of a leak but the service and quality of the hotel made up for that. the rooms had high quality linens on the beds, the food was fresh and of excellent quality and most of all, the trained staff especially joe ekachai was most professional and accomodating. because of him and the rest of the staff, i would definitely recommend this hotel. when i return to bangkok, i will stay there again for sure. this is struly what an international 5 star hotel should be like! i've stayed at many hotels across europe and north america as well as the middle east, persian gulf and the aetas lumpini hotel is definitely one of my favorites. i compare it to the madison hotel in st-germain des pres in paris, france which is also a 5 star establishment and one of my favorites when i stay in paris!

This is the second time I have stayed at Banyan Tree Bangkok and they did not disappoint. I booked the Executive Lounge Suite and everything was as advertised. Check in/out from lounge, staff spoke English very well, design and decor is amazing, finishing in the room is true 5 star hotel standard etc etc etc. ROOM: Bed was the most comfortable that I can remember in any hotel. A bath in the huge tub with the complimentary bath salts and oils plus such an amazing bed led to a great rest after a long flight. FOOD: The buffet at Banyan Tree Bangkok is, in my opinion, the best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel anywhere in the world. The food and beverage offerings are extensive, everything is fresh, and the service is great. The best bar in Bangkok is on the roof top of the hotel so, if you get a room that has access to the Executive Lounge, have some complimentary cocktails at the Lounge then go upstairs to enjoy the view. It's a stunning outlook on a big city. TIPS: make time for the complimentary cocktails if they are provided with your room choice, they're well worth it. If it is in your budget order the hotel limousine to pick you up from the airport, it's a nice choice. It is extra but a pleasant addition after a long flight (especially if you are trying to impress someone!)

fraser suites urbana sathorn is an excellent 4+ stars serviced apartment. among the many other choices in bangkok, this place has one general interesting and unique quality – it simply cannot be faulted at any aspect (with few minor less-than-best- issues detailed later on). first, everything at this place - and really i mean everything - actually works well and effectively. the apartment is nicely and warmly decorated (maybe slightly out-dated already, but certainly nothing that can bother the most discerning guest); the kitchen is really well-equipped (perhaps best equipment level out of many places i visited) and accompanied with clear english operation instructions (over, micro, washer, etc); nice lcd and dvd; effective yet quiet (!) air-conditioning with remotes (separate a/cs for living and bed rooms); good effective light-blocking curtains for your sweet morning jet-lagged sleep; nice bath and shower proportionally sized and convenient, etc etc. they have good wireless internet (reasonable bandwidth but not fast) at all rooms and all public areas, but check carefully if included in your rate, otherwise the additional charges will be high. the hotel pool area is also very nice. and on top of it all comes a very professional service.

The hotel is small and friendly. The roof terrace with pool and sun loungers is a delight, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the front-of-house staff are friendly, and helpful to the utmost. Breakfasts were good, and even the mini-bar was not the usual rip-off, with a tin of Singha and a packet of cashews costing a grand total of 100 baht. Grand Sathorn is well situated, close to skytrain, a short walk from the river and piers for river trips. It is a great base for a visit to Bangkok. So why not rate it 4-star? Simply that restaurant services are limited to room service or breakfast. Sometimes, particularly business travelers, but others too, need to be able to entertain in their hotel. A hotel without a full-time restaurant is not really 4-star. There are excellent restaurants nearby, for those used to Thai restaurants, but with TVs blaring and open to the streets, these are not really suited to business conversation. So a good 3-star, not quite reaching the 4, but the warm welcome, terrific staff and the very high standards of comfort and cleanliness will guarantee my return.

it was my first stay at the brand new hotel. this 5 star hotel indeed is doing its best to make small differences everywhere and they indeed do. the room design is quite special, all the amenities are quite original. the pool is awesome. one of the drawbacks is the locations for taxis. it's hard to get a taxi in front of the hotel or one who knows the road to this hotel, it's so new. for people who travel by bts in bangkok, it's right next to chong nonsi bts station. the in-room dining menu is a bit short but food is very good.

my second stay at the sukhothai hotel has confirmed that my opinion as it being one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at after a life of extensive traveling. the executive deluxe room is the size of three standard rooms, beautifully appointed with an astounding attention to detail. from an excellent coffee machine to the box of every phone and computer connection imaginable to the bathroom which is like a small apartment in and of itself. fresh tropical fruit and chocolate truffles served everyday. the staff went consistently beyond the line of duty to make our visit as pleasant as possible. i was greeted by name from day one by all of the staff. one evening we were having trouble locating a restaurant. the concierge spent over twenty minutes doing everything possible to find this out of the way place. he finished by finding the cell phone of the owner but before that he had thoroughly searched the internet, and even called another hotel in the restaurant's neighborhood to find out if they knew the exact address. the hotel limousine to and from the airport is well worth the money. uniformed chauffeur, cold towels, water, candy and wifi in the car (fabulous mercedes) the breakfast buffet is amazing and delicious. everything that anyone could possible desire for breakfast is there an more. the celadon restaurant in widely considered one of the best thai restaurants in bangkok and deservedly so. if you want to taste the classic thai dishes done to perfection this is the place. i cannot say enough good about this hotel. my favorite in the world.

I've stayed at the Astera 7 times now and the staff are always smiling, friendly, helpful and polite. The best kept secret about Bangkok is the very cheap Airport train, which gets you to the BTS in about 25 minutes for 20 Baht! The walk from the Taksin station to the Astera is about 5 minutes through real Bangkok streets. It's a quiet hotel, book the breakfast with you hotel booking as it will be cheaper. The local shopping is OK. I visit the local dentist and barber. Then hop on the BTS to Pratunam or Chatuchack Markets. Then cool off at MBK or the other more expensive shopping centres. Even getting on the train can be a respite from the heat. You get free wifi in the rooms now. They used to charge $18 a day! But have now made it free. I'm not a fan of crowds and noise so this is the place for me.

i stay in bangkok on average at least 10 times a year. in the past i had always stayed at fraser suites, but it was booked this time so i choose the ascot. choosing the ascot was the best thing i have done in awhile. they have great rooms (with l-occitane products), free internet, full kitchens with washer/dryer and the best gym of any hotel i have ever stayed at. for the price and location, this is one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at. it is cheaper than fraser suites and considerably better value for money. the staff was very lovely and helpful. this is my new preferred hotel in bangkok.

If u look for a choice of accommodation with cleanliness , safety, staff service and most valued for money in Sathorn /Narathiwas Rajanakarindhara Road. This is one of best choice for you to book. One day to one month will be such perfect choice. Huge room, cleanliness quality, staff , security, housekeeping , etc. Not the best hotel but always the best choice for smart traveller !!! Highly recommend !!!

The value for my money spent at the FarumaXclusive Hotel was worth it. I was travelling on business so this was a good stop over location for me, the location offered me a quiet location to stage from, and also it was very conveniently located to the Silom BTS, which was only a 3 minute walk away, very useful. I found the rooms comfortable and decoratively modern with all the appropriate amenities to assist my stay, you are quite self contained if you need be, with the clean little kitchen-net. I was extremely satisfied with the internet connectivity, one of the main features of a Hotel I look for. Unfortunately I was not too impressed with their small little fitness centre, however that being said at least they offered the basic gym equipment your cardio equipments and a basic universal gym set. The pool was nice, same with the sauna. I would certainly return to this Hotel or recommend this Hotel to others, great value for your money.

Requested for big bed and high floor in my booking. Hotel side mentioned they did not receive any memo from agoda regarding my request. To all fellow travelers, please snap a screen shot of all itineraries and reservation requests. Save you the trouble of explaining and putting yourselves in bad light... Avoid staying in the room during office hour, some construction works going on in their car parking premises (basement) . My room was on the 2nd floor...doesn't really bother me during my 5 days stay as I'm out when the drilling starts ;P For Breakfast, just take the fruit, yoghurt and salad. Can skip the rest... Although a 3 star hotel, but their ROOM CLEANINESS IS A GOOD 5 STAR! Keep it up and maintain it well!

On checking in after a busy day of work plus traveling from Myanmar, opening the door to my one bedroom suite was a welcome relief. The rooms (a sitting room and bedroom with a kitchenette) were large and spacious. Floor to ceiling windows in both main rooms provided beautiful views of the city. Window appointments were not the usual blackout curtains, but instead, beautifully crafted sliding wooden shutters that worked equally well and could be adjusted for privacy or the amount of light one would like entering the room. Both the sitting room and bedrooms had large flat panel Tv (40 inch I think) and room lighting adjustments to suit your mood. The bathroom was tiled in attractive bown/black tiles with a non-reflecting surface that allowed you to see the beauty of the wall tiles without the unwanted reflections. Both a bath tub and shower were present. The bathroom could be entered from the bedroom or the sitting room. The sitting room had a large L-shaped sofa which was comfortable for relaxing and watching the TV. The staff of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The dining room offered a breakfast buffet which is the first of many in which I found exceptionally tasty scrambled eggs made of fresh eggs minutes before eating. This surprised me as having traveled extensively for the past two months, my normal reaction to the powdered egg mix used to make scrambled eggs left a lot to be desired. The rest of the spread was equally tasty and their coffee was exceptional. Freshly made latte or cappuccino were offered. I usually have stayed at another hotel, but after this experience, I will choose Centre Point Wireless Road next time.

Stayed 4 nights with two teenagers, so we booked a twin room for them and a superior room for ourselves. Rooms were identical except for the beds, so it is not worth paying for a superior; a standard room is fine. The rooms were spacious and clean, good beds, TVs with a couple of English channels. THB 1000 key deposit (cash only) upon check-in. Cute little pool on the roof with a few loungers, but no shade. The best part was the breakfast— fresh and a good variety of Thai dishes daily. The entire hotel is non-smoking. Coin-operated washing machines outside the entrance if needed. Rooms cleaned daily. There was a hair dryer, safe, kettle & instant tea/coffee in the room. The hotel is down a small street with several good, reasonable restaurants. It is quiet, but there is a small shopping mall at the end of the street (Centre Point) and Saphan Taksin BTS station just around the corner. Good value! Tip: best foreign Xchange kiosk @ Jewelry Trade Cntr, 2nd fl (5-min. walk)

Moder/high tech room Very clean room and very good room layout Great breakfast. Wish bread would be freshly baked and juices not from concentrate/artificial then I would consider it perfect. Staff very attentive, cordial, cortious. Called few times for additional towels and soap - response time was 1-2 minutes. Very impressive! Calling for taki from the hotel is 5-10 minutes delay. No big deal. Arrival back to the hotel causes some drivers to loose their way though signs are clear. I just learn the 3 turns from the main road to the hotel, how to say left and right in Thai (Qua, sa-yee) and prenlem resolved. Hotel offers free yoga class (my wife tried it) and Thai language once a week. Since I'm a foodie, here are the breakfast details: Very clean, nice selection, very nice decor. This is a one star Michelin restaurant. Probably lunch and diner is more impressive but the breakfast was not as zesty as expected. Cheese selection is only 2 types of simple cheeses. Lox was scant and not of the best quality but it was just ok. Nice selection of dried fruits. Pastries below average. Not crispy Danish / tart / Turnovers. Warm dishes are ok quality but not Tasty so I sleeper it and stocked to salad and lox. You may order omelette ala carte but don't expect to consistency. I like my omelette spice with chopped chilly - once I got it hell hot next day I couldn't feel the chili. Coffee / cappuccino / latte was very good so I had 2-3 cups every time. Bread looks like ordered from a near by bakery, probably a day before but don't forget this is less than 100 room hotel and there is limited labor resource they can provide while price room for $100/night range. (For better nreakfast go to the mandarin oriental and pay $300/night) Overall this hotel with the complimentary breakfast is the best deal i ever encountered. From now on, I will check my travel destination for U hotels and stay there if possible.

We have stayed here many times over the years, including just a few days ago. Each time we stay the hotel has shown steady improvement. Granted, it is not a 5 star, but it is certainly an excellent, clean and professional 3 star. They are building a big addition to this hotel, so available rooms should make room selection better. We continue to choose this hotel because it is tucked into a nice neighborhood, full of local shopping, post office, restaurants, markets and street food vendors. It is quiet and away from the noise of the main streets. I enjoy arriving each time I visit Bangkok. I have also come to enjoy the free tuk tuk shuttle to the Sky Train. One major complaint I have always had about this hotel is that the TV reception is awful. It seems that is one serevice that has not improved over the years. I don't watch much TV so it doesn't really factor into my decision to stay. Big oversight. Another compalint I had was the breakfast buffet. Though it is adequate, it hardly lives up to the standards of the rest of the hotel. I recommend booking the room without the breakfast and eating breakfast around the corner at one of the nice neighborhood restaurants. That said, the restaurant/food service has good lunch, dinner and snacks.

What an outstanding hotel. We started off our stay with a late check in and the best room service we've ever had - complete with complimentary prosecco and chocolates for our anniversary. The daily breakfast at Glow was the most original, clean, healthy and fresh we've ever had at a hotel. The room was beautifully and tastefully furnished. The bathroom was spectacular, and the bath products wonderfully fragrant. The pool was gorgeous and refreshing after a long hot day of shopping. But by far, the highlight was dinner at Nahm. One of the best meals we've ever eaten, anywhere, ever. Just outstanding in every way. Our only gripe was that we were unable to use the gift vouchers the hotel gave us for their spa because it is very popular and appointment availabilities very rare. So do book ahead if that's something you want to try, as we will, when we go back, as we surely will.

The hotel is not exactly in downtown Bangkok but it is near enough to the Lumpini MRT station which is just one stop away from the shopping malls in Silom. The MRT station is not quite at the hotel's doorstep and it's actually about a 10-minute walk. But if you're looking for something away from all the traffic noise and smells, this would be perfect. There are several convenience stores and restaurants right in front of the hotel catered for Western tourists but if you'd walk out to the main road and turn right, there is a street full of delicious street food stalls where the locals and office workers pack their breakfasts and lunches. At night time, the row of stalls opposite the main road on Thanon Rama IV is bustling with a lot of local delicacies, including fried insects! But walking in the alley leading to the hotel late at night may seem a little unnerving when it may seem a little deserted. The handful of signages asking people to be careful of snatch thefts added to the alarmist touch. Booked the rooms through Agoda and it came up to about USD31 (without breakfast), and at that kind of price, it was pretty decent value. The rooms and the bathrooms are pretty tiny but they're quite neat and cozy. It has everything that a traveller would need. Even their wall sockets are universal for all types of plug heads. Like most hotels in Bangkok, the room comes with free sachets of coffee and tea everyday as well as 2 bottles of water daily. Can't really complain much about the room. Sheets are clean, bedding is comfy and service at the front desk is pretty prompt and helpful. There's free WiFi too if you register at the front desk which is pretty fast. But if you don't gave a device, there are a couple of PCs at the lobby if you want to surf the internet.

we chose the hotel based on reviews on here and tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. we had booked a standard studio for a six day stay. we were warmly welcomed and the receptionist immediately helped us with communications regarding our luggage which hadn't quite arrived as expected. we were checked into a 3rd floor studio which was clean and spacious and we just collapsed after our long flight. the studio was great, and it had everything we needed. we did have an issue with the bed which had an annoying squeak, and the following morning we reported this to reception and after some initial investigation they asked us to move to an alternative room which was one of their one bed superior rooms on the 7th floor. the main difference between the rooms is more space and a separate lounge and bedroom area, with an additional tv and a larger couch. for us the studio would have been adequate but upgrade was a nice touch for the inconvenience of having to move rooms. the hotel is really conveniently located. it's on the edge of the business district (hence quieter), but close enough to transport (5mins walk to lumphini mrt, 10mins walk to saladeng bts / silom mrt) and well connected by road just set back from the junction of rama 4 and sathorn road. the hotel has a tuktuk for free local trips but we didn't use it. the breakfast is adequate but nothing to shout about. hot tea/coffee, milk, fruit juice along with toast, cereals, fresh fruit, sliced meat. there's plenty of it, but it can get a bit repetitive after several days. the hotel has plans to fix this with a new kitchen, and if you need something different one day (or you have an early start) head over to chinese food court in lumphini park - cross the footbridge on rama 4 road just up from hsbc and head right when you get into the park - its open from 4.30am to 10am and has lots of choice. we really enjoyed our stay and would not have any hesitation to recommend baan k to others.

I had to extend my stay to Bkk, and I didn't hesitate for the choice of the hotel : I booked a bedroom executive at the Somerset, because it's the best place I have ever stayed in Bkk. The room is large, well equipped, light, with a large balcony to enjoy a great view of Bkk. It is located in the quiet soi Suan Plu, within walking distance with Silom area (night market, bars, clubs), and not far from MRT stations (Lumpini or Silom) and BTS Saladaeng station : easy to go to other areas of Bangkok, especially Siam area, with great department stores, cinemas, restaurants... One special mention for Siam Paragon if you're interested in young Thai fashion designers ; a few shops where you can find very stylish clothes, original design, high quality of fabric, casual or formal styles. Highly recommended !!! The Somerset includes a nice swimming pool at the 5th floor, with a spa (sauna and steam bath) : perfect to relax after a day in Bkk city. Don't forget the city view bar and restaurant Vertigo, on the top of a building just next to Somerset : you will enjoy the wonderful view on Bkk city, for a romantic evening !

this hotel is very reminiscent of the hyatt place concept in the us. a good mix of business and leisure features, and the location is perfect for bangkok stays. it is adjacent to two 300 plus a night hotels, yet the chaydon (former all seasons) maintains a price right around 50 dollars a night! many embassies and offices are within very short walking distances, and the silom station allows quick access to the rest of bangkok. many great restaurants are also within walking distance, although the hotel has a good restaurant on its grounds, and a very respectable bar with many drink specials. although they tend to close well before there advertised time of 2am, so be quick if you need to get some drinks after work! the hallways were open, and that might lead to a negative view of the rooms, but overall, the rooms were good. the wifi however, was very intermittent. if you have to conduct business over the internet, it will take about twice as long as usual as the wifi frequently cuts out and you have to reset, and the wifi advertised in the lounge area has many dead zones. but for recreational internet use it is fine.

The Narathiwas Residence is essentially a serviced apartment with a large buffet breakfast provided. The apartment has a large lounge area, a balcony, large bed, kitchen etc. it has the facilities of a 5 star hotel, with the added bonus of the size of an apartment. The front desk staff are attentive, professional, and speak English. The location is an advantage as it is very close to the busiess district of Sathorn/Silom, and the many nearby restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. The accommodation compared to the cost of a 5 star hotel represents very good value for money.

From the greeting we received as we arrived until the moment we left we thought Pantip Court was a great place to stay. The staff were extremely welcoming on every occasion and the front desk girls did us a great favour upon check-in. Check-in was quick and smooth and soon we were in our apartment, which was 1 of the biggest we have stayed in. Extra bedding and towels followed right away. Although slightly dated the room was clean and everything worked. A light bulb on the balcony was replaced as soon as we asked for it after it broke one evening. Meals in the restaurant were good and also quite inexpensive and the staff there were very pleasant, even though we arrived quite late. The cake shop can be a big hit with the ladies because of the large selection and also the "buy 1 get 1 free" offer in the afternoon. An added bonus is the little shop at the corner of the lobby which sells everything at normal 7-11 prices - no rip off there. I have already booked our next trip to Bangkok for November and we will definately be using Pantip Court as our base. It's probably the best value hotel in the city and the staff make it a 5 star experience even if the room is not 5 star.

i came to the malaysia hotel with my 16 month old son and was a little put off at first about the reviews stating this was a gay pick-up spot. well, hello, this is silom/sathorn.. get used to it. what i found was an incredibly charming hotel that had been in operation for years so everything was clean and organized. the rooms are clean, sheets and towels white, and the pool was sparkling clean. also, an important note is that all taxi drivers know this hotel, and it is a 5 minute walk to lumphini mrt station (without crossing any streets). fantastic. for per night you can't go wrong. the malai restaurant is open 24 hours per day and they bring the food right to your room. the food is nothing to write home about but it is cheap and tasty (and convenient). the service i received was something i would expect from a 4 star hotel- very impressive. they immediately assisted with my luggage and took it to my room. this was invaluable for someone traveling with a toddler and 50kg of luggage! the only con is that wifi is not free. i bought five hours for baht that i could use in a 24 hour period and from my room on the 3rd floor it was fairly fast. all in all a great place for a great price- i will certainly be back. malaysia hotel has been in operation for many years and they know what works.

The hotel is a small boutique hotel off Suan Plu road. When telling your taxing driver, tell them Suan Plu soi 3 (soi saam). The decor is very chic, but the beds were a little hard (thai standard). Bathrooms were on the smaller side, but for the price paid, it's a fair hotel. If you walk to the main road (suan plu), there are shops and food vendors, so you won't go hungry. Only downside is that it's not hear a BTS station. Uber was our best way to get around. Taxi will try to rip you off if you catch them from any touristy place. If you flag one down on the street, chances are better that they will use the meter, but if they don't, either get out or agree to an amount ahead of time. This wasn't my first time in BKK and I speak the language fluently, but was still ripped off by taxi drivers, so beware.
