"We were looking for something that was clean because we intended to spend most of our time on the beach. So we booked this hotel for its location, and based on previous reviews that highlighted its cleanliness. Though we were placed on the opposite side of the road (the hotel has two parts, one facing the beach and the other opposite the road away from the beach), it was still a stone throws walk to the beach. Though there were construction workers staying nearby at the time, and they sang a lot late into the night on a guitar, we still were able to sleep like normal. We booked a room for 4 persons, but there were only 3 persons. It was well worth the stay as it was really clean, even the bathroom was clean. There was hot water running, even thought the shower looked old! We brought towels just incase we did not get any, but they provided 2 (I am not sure why it was not 4 towels in a 4 persons room). We stayed for 3 days 2 nights, and based on the look of the place, we did not expect housekeeping! But all the sand we brought back with us from the beach were cleaned out when we got back to the room in the evening. The room was comfortable enough for us to stay in and enjoy the cheap beer we bought at the duty free shop (Tiger beer for RM1!). The street right outside was also one of the main roads lined with food and small shops, we could walk to the duty free in 20 mins and we enjoyed the walk. The taxi from here to the airport was also about RM20-25 (they do not use meters). We had some good meals down the road and hung out at the bars that spilled out onto the beach (with finger food). This hotel also offered us quite a decent BBQ meal when it was raining and we stayed in. So all in all, it was very convenient for this price."

"Nice and clean room. The beach is just across the road. Nice breakfast. All the staff are very friendly. They have food stalls right in from of the hotel, which is operated by the hotels' staff themselves. The price is considerably cheap (e.g Fried rice and Fried noodle cost RM6 each) as compared to other restaurants around Chenang beach. Shopping malls are located just beside the hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel."

"It's Great! Me and my fellow uni friend stayed in The Village Langkawi for only three nights. It already made us feel like home and missed it so much while we were leaving. It's very natural (cattle are all around and chicken woke us up every morning) and a good night view (thousands of millions stars can be seen in the sky). The hotel itself is good. The bed is very comfortable. Wifi is strong. And the host of the Hotel allowed us to use the frige. They also helped us to take care of our stuff even though we'd checked out. Five minutes' walk to Pantai Ceneng main road (which all restaurants and shops are around) and Pantai Cenang beach as well. Ten minutes to Airport. All in all, recommend The Village Langkawi to everyone!"

"Stayed here for 4 days in July 2009. July certainly seems to be rainy season as rained most of last 2 days (but no rain for week before according to taxi driver so don't be put off, plus the hotel had good wet weather options). Room was very clean, some public areas not quite so good but I guess it's difficult with loads of wet people milling about.... Although the resort had lots of on-site facilities we also wanted a place where we didn't have to stay in the resort the whole time. The hotel was a good option for this. For example, there was a really excellent fish restaurant about 10 mins walk away, but also some poorer options (we learnt to avoid quieter places and made our best guess as to what sort of cuisine would probably be the best option in the place we were in, e.g. not Spanish sausage pizza in a curry house....sounds obvious but there we go!). There was also an excellent and much, much cheaper spa literally across the road in great surroundings (<5 mins away in the Laman Padi). Beach location was really not great (sort of exposed and not good for swimming due to water sports and jellyfish (saw some washed up)). It's OK for strolling along, sunbathing (noise of jet skiis in some parts not too nice though). My biggest gripe was the hotel's policy of no shorts or sleeveless tops in bar and restaurants in the evening. This completely put us off staying there in the evening - Strange idea, who would want to wear long trousers in hot and especially hot & really wet weather? However, when monsoon level rain prevented us going out on our final night we obediently togged up only to then see that no one else actually seemed to pay much attention to that anyway! Anyway, apart from that the resort was very relaxed, a perfect balance of comfort and facilities without too much stiffness (which obviously is not our thing). Loved the wood buildings and posh beach hut feel of our room. We liked the local wildlife too (just a few cute geckos on the balcony etc,). "

"Keep in mind that this is not a serviced motel / hotel and would best cater those expecting budget accommodations. The room we rented was directly on the beach, with a local cafe located a mere few meters away. There is also a beach bar not too far off, so expect some sound and sleep interruptions if you are a light sleeper. Room was basic, with clean sheets and a relatively clean toilet, but that was just about it. Two beds, airconditioning, and a small television. Bathroom had a shower with good water pressure, but no heating (Not that one would need it anyway). No sink, just a toilet and a tap next to it. Our bathroom wouldn't lock, though. Check-in was a breeze with the Agoda booking; there didn't seem to be any computers/electronic recording devices in the reception but the lady there kept a ledger book with names of guests pencilled in with the room numbers. Reception was a bit daunting with heaps of sheets waiting to be folded, and smelled a bit like a laundry room, but it didn't affect the check-in process. Overall I would recommend this place for people on a tight budget but would still like to enjoy a location right on the beach."

"Booked for room seaview , already requested on ground floor room, but front staff said no available room on ground floor. Even i already requested 6month earlier. Luckily got 1 staff change our room to cabin room at ground floor without any extra charges . Forgot to ask her name, she is very helpful & kind . Should give best staff award to her . Overall, nice cabin room with two queen bed , located exactly in front of swimming pools & facing seaview. I would highly recommended best star resort. Just 1 thing to change, pls send all ur front liners staff to training. The way they talk to customer, handle customer, not up to ur resort standard . Already been Langkawi 2 years in a row, stay in same hotel, but staff still with same attitude. Others, all okay . 👍🏻"

"Pros: Walking distance to Cenang beach, Laman Padi, Cenang mall, food outlets and convenience stores. Room is clean and the beds and pillows are fluffy and comfortable. Water pressure is fine. Towel and body wash are provided as well as clothing iron. Staff are friendly and island hopping package (RM30 per person, price might differ due to holiday season) is offered at the reception. Cons: Hair dryer and shampoo are not provided. There are no kettle or tea bags but there's Coway water dispenser beside the reception. Ceiling fan speed might be quite slow and can't adjust the speed as the remote control has been removed. Yet, it'll be fine if you switch on both fan and A/C at the same time. There are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the evening and at night so remember to always close the doors. It might be quite noisy when other guests gather and talk at the public area so staying at the upper floor will be better than staying at ground floor rooms."

"Overall a great stay. Comfortable and convenient location. Breakfast was decent (cereals, eggs, meat, noodles/rice, coffee, tea, water). The hotel is literally steps from the beach, shopping, and plenty of restaurants. Even though it was right on the street, it was still fairly quiet at night. My advice would be to get a room with a balcony to dry your clothes. For some reason, everything takes long to dry (wet clothes and the wet bathroom floor after a shower). "
