Hotels near Royal Thai Embassy

The location of the hotel (Orchard Road) is definetely excellent. Even the hotel is already quite old (when I am right it hast been built around 40 years ago) it is in an excellent shape. The rooms are big, comfortable, nicely decorated and clean. The service is what you expect from a 5* Hotel; effecient and polite. If you are for a visa run, the Royal Thai Embassy is just 700 meters away.

Pros. My parents and I stayed in Premium Queen with Bunk for 2 nights during 30 Dec to 1 Jan. After completed booking, I sent Yotel an email to request for high floor with nice illumination view. They arranged me the room on FL.26 with ION orchard view which had very nice illumination on the building and also the giant Pandora christmas tree. More than that, they also attached curtain on the glass wall at shower area since I told them that I had concern about its transparency. This was truly beyond my expectation! The hotel location is perfect. Only few steps from Royal Thai Embassy bus stop. (We preferred traveling by bus rather than MRT as we can see nice view of the city.) For MRT, in front of Shaw House, there are entrances/exits to underpass linking to MRT and many department stores around Orchard. Very convenient to travel around Singapore. All amenities provided in the room were pretty nice. Also, my father liked the bunk bed. It is strong enough for adult not just the kids. We all had nice sleep during 2-day staycation. Cons. As I stayed during peak season of New Year holiday, i thought the number of staffs were not enough to service the guests at Lobby. The most thing i felt bad was toilet in our room. The first night went very well. But on the second night, the water didn't drain into the pipe. So, the floor was flooded! BTW, asides from little cons, we had a great stay at Yotel. Will recommend to my friends. :)

The primary reason we chose this hotel was for its location and price. At its price, the location can't be beat. Its about a 5 minute downhill walk to Orchard (nearest mall is the Paragon). The hotel is located on a street with a bit of an incline, so walking back uphill to the hotel can be a slight challenge if you've spent the last 4 hours walking around Orchard road and its malls. I was travelling with my 60+ mother, so we stopped a bit when walking back. We booked via Agoda and I didn't have any problem checking in. I just showed the confirmation and the reception had no problem looking for my booking. Only concern was that I had to wait a few hours for a non-smoking room with two single beds. I arrived at the hotel about 11am and they told me that the room would be ready by about 130pm. No problem, I just left my bag at the concierge and went strolling along Orchard. Well, stroll around Orchard I did and I made it back by 5pm. Stayed for 3days/2nights. Hotel is typical 3-4 star, with a big room and good enough beddings/pillows. The room was cleaned up nicely during our 2nd day. My only minor disappointment was that the cable tv had very few channels. We usually came back to the hotel from shopping at around 10pm anyway so I really didnt need to watch TV that much. I didn't have any complaints to the staff, as I found nothing to complain about. York hotel is a great place to stay if you want to be within Orchard at an affordable price.

This hotel is in the best location if you want to be near Orchard Road. It was right in the middle of orchard road but slightly further back so its away from the noisy busy streets of orchard road. Right in front of the hotel is a great little side street which is open all day and all night serving fresh seafood, satay skewers, hainan chicken rice and a lot of other yummy things for a cheap price. The hotel was very clean, and our room was perfect. we were on the top floor so the room was very quiet. the hotel lobby staff were amazing also. We had the best stay there and would definately stay again.

I have read a few negative reviews on many websites after I booked it so it got me a bit worried. But I hate to stay in tall buildings when I travel so I still went with my gut instinct about this hotel. Besides, comparing to other 5 star hotels charging crazy prices, it seems fair I could pay less and even got a junior suite. When I saw the hotel in person, I absolutely loved it. Their staff was friendly when we checked in and my 3 kids just went wild when they saw the size of the room!!! The junior suite has two large washroom, a sitting area with 2 couches, and a big bedroom+ giant closet. Since the 5 of us just jammed up in Shang-rila Sentosa for 4 nights before, this room gave the kids great space to run around and play hide and seek!! There are reviews I read about unfriendly hotel staff and I really do not understand how they rate "unfriendly". When I went to the check in counter to complain about my key mal-functioned at the door entering the hotel room area, the staff not only made sure we could get pass the door, he accompanied me to my room too to make sure I had no problem with my own room door. The staff at morning buffet were also smiling all the time. It is also located in a busy area and just minutes walk to Orchard Road. The famous Clark Quay is about 10 min away by taxi and we paid around SGD 20 to get there. The only two things I don't like about the hotel is 1. the cakes are not as tasty as it looks (well, I think I make better cheese cake) and 2. the bed is soooo strong and hard that I actually pulled up the sheets to make sure there IS a mattress underneath. Other then that, it is a great hotel!

We stayed for 3 nights here. The location is very nice. Its 5mins walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station near Plaza Singapora. It has 7-11 shops available near by so u can get your break fast/snack anytime while on your way out or back to hotel. It has a neat swimming pool on roof top accessible by lift 1 only with an outstanding view of the vicinity. Recommend a panoramic photo from there. Hotel has two entrances, the other one opens towards the main Orchard Road, where you can find a number of malls like Orchard Point, Orchard Central, Ngee Ann city center, 313 Somerset, Apple Store. This road has multiple bus stops. Get yourself a 3-days Singapore Tourist Pass for unlimited trips to MRT & Public busses. Both have a/c so thats a relieve in 35C temp during the day. The hotel has a Tour Desk where as i suggest using Klook app to book at activities ranging from Universal Studio, Sentosa fun pass, Zoo, Night Safari, Gardens by the bay, bird sanctuary etc. This way you will not need to stand in ticket lines. Just book and show the online receipt to the gate keepers who will let you in :) do visit asian museum on Raffles stop, Fullerton road for Merlion. Good quality shopping is available at Bugis Junction (Bugis stop via MRT and exit towards Bugis Junction). Do not goto Little India, its very dirty and a mall there with the name of Al Mustafa Center (although cheap) but has terrible / poor quality products. You will be disappointed. Visit East Coast bay near Marina bays for a quite beach spot. Good for camping. On your way out to Airport, book a taxi via Grab Ap and it will cost you a max of $17 SGD till terminal 4 airport. Upon arrival, get a $15 SGD sim from Klook app It will give you 100GB worth 4G internet And free calls to last you easily 8-10 days even. Pick up point at Cheers store on level 2. Use mini bus to reach your hotel. It will cost you $SGD 9 per person with a travel time of 25-30mins. Booking stand is location at last level. They charge credit card and d

The service was great, the staff is more than keen yo help you. The hotel as well is beautiful. We stayed at the executive studio and even that we found it exclusively luxurious. The location is the best part. The hotel has linked bridge yo the paragon mall, than just a few metres from the mall you can access the orchard mrt station. The hotel provide you with a handphone which is so handy and you can bring it anywhere, just making sure to return back before checking out.

As an academic I am in Singapore for 2-3 days perhaps 4-5 times annually. Singapore is generally expensive, but there are three places I would think to stay as what I would call acceptable Singapore budget hotels. The RELC is probably my favorite, based upon location near the upper end of Orchard Road. The only thing I would really criticize there is the breakfast. Skip it in favor of Starbucks or McDonalds 300 meters away on Orchard Road. The facilities are limited to what I would call Asian three star standard, but you can go next door to the Shangrila if you need a nice upscale meeting place, etc. (burgers at the top-floor Shangrila Blu Bar are tastiest in Singapore in my opinion, if expensive). My second most favorite is the Ft Canning Lodge, a YWCA affiliate closer to the Clarke Quay and Parliament neighborhood. The breakfast is acceptable there, but the laundromat facilities are not as good as RELC. My third most favorite, a step down and which I typically only book if RELC or the Ft Canning Lodge are unavailable, are a couple of backpackers' hostels on Hong Kong Street, which have a few private rooms with shared bathroom facilities. If cost is a concern the hostel rooms are cheaper, but the trade off is that the bathroom facilities are shared (and the laundromat facilities are also below RELC or the Ft Canning Lodge). Hong Kong Street is well placed close to Boat Quay and the Parliament areas. I think there are two of the different chain hostels on Hong Kong Street, running under different names, but both have a few private rooms.

My second time staying in Novotel. New hotel, near Orchard road, but away from the bustling of Orchard crowd. A few not so positive things to note : 1. I didn’t not request for an extra bed, but when I got to my room, there was an extra bed inside. I had booked the room for one pax only. 2. For a relatively new hotel, the drainage system is not very well maintained, shower room floods every time i used it 3. Lacking basic toiletries in shower cap, soap dish. 4. Aircon system of Food Exchange not maintained. Water dripping from ceiling, and heavy water marks can be seen around the aircon vent. 5. The hotel could have provided more information on shuttle bus service from T Galleria back to hotel, give the location of the pick up point at T Galleria. Other than that, it’s a cosy place, friendly staff, clean environment.

The room had everything we needed. It was spacious. The bathroom in the master bedroom was a little bit small for me and my parents. I had to stay in the master bedroom because there were only 2 single beds in the 2nd room. This is good for 4 persons at best unless the 5th person is willing to sleep in the sofa or, like me, in the master bedroom. They had an assortment of food in the kitchen. It was in a basket. Really useful as we ate some of it. There is no cleaning service on Sunday and they change beddings only every other day. Overall though, everything was in top shape, service was great. The place is super clean! The view from our hotel room was nice! The bus stop was a bit of a walk though. We took a taxi everytime we had to go out which, when added together, got expensive in the end.

On top of our list is the hotel staff - friendly, warm, efficient and proactive. They are the hotel’s best assets! Well-trained, polite and educated, incl the breakfast crew. Definitely, A1 rating. Second is the hotel room . While it may not be spacious, it had very comfortable beds/pillows, excellent airconditioning and was always cleaned early by housekeeping. Third, breakfast was filling though average. Finally, location is excellent- walking distance to shopping malls & restos,, accessible by bus, and near Church for Sunday Mass. But still in a quiet alley for us not to be disturbed . Will definitely return with fam & friends. Love the hotel! Love the staff! stayed in Holiday Express Inn when I was in Europe but didnt enjoy as much as I did in Singapore! Thank you to the staff!

It was my first time travelling out of country so I made sure I'd get the best hotel with cheaper price, and so I decided to book with Agoda. Checking in was fast. I spent not longer than 5 minutes and we were good to go in to our room. Check in should be at 2pm but we were made to check in an hour earlier since the room was ready when we got there. The hotel us quite far from famous tourist attractions but there is a bus stop just across the hotel in front of Raffles Girls School. Also, you can take taxi just in front of the hotel entrance, or take a Grab ride. Rooms were quite small but really clean. If you are a tourist and you spend most of your time outside, you wouldn't really mind the room size. I had a great time staying there. If I go back to Singapore, I would choose to stay here again.

Though it was only a 1 night stay, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. When I reached the reception, there was no staff available to me immediately but they kept advising me to take my seat while assuring that they will attend to me shortly and true enough, it wasn't a long wait. Upon check in, I was personally shown to my room by the same receptionist and introduced to all the different functionalities of the gadgets within the room as well as an overall introduction of the swimming pool/gym facilities and its opening hours etc. During my booking, I had informed them that it was my anniversary and that I would like to request for early check in to decorate the room before my partner comes. They tried their best with the request and I was granted an early check in! Knowing that I was going to be driving in and out to execute the surprise, she provided me with spare parking coupons so I would not have to keep going back to reception to ask for it. Also, our room was decorated with a pair of love swan towels and a complimentary cake in courtesy of HFC for our anniversary. After the introduction, the staff even reminded me of the complimentary evening drinks that came together with my booking and where it was taking place. On the day of checkout, I tried my luck to see if I could get a late checkout so we could spend more time there. Again, my request was granted. Overall I must say I'm really satisfied with the sincerity and hospitality of all the hotel staff there. They are a fine example of excellent customer service and I will definitely come back for another stay. I also love the colonial touch of the building amidst all that greenery and I specially love the scent at the hotel lobby. If possible, I hope to know the concoction of that scent. Thank you HFC for making my anniversary such a perfect and memorable one. I will be back again!

happy to stay in singapore marriott hotel at ochard road. always stay at this best location hotel if i travel to singapore. i always recommended this marriott hotel to my friends. really good location for shopping and dining. pub is just around the corner. supermarket just at the basement. atm machines just in front of the hotel main entrance. taxi stand just in front of the main entrance and always priority for hotel guest. everything provided in this hotel, free wifi only available at hotel lobby but not in the room. but recent stay, they started to provide free wifi for hotel guest, unlike last time need to pay for it. really convenience for people like me, lazy to walk and everything you need it you can get it immediately. staffs are friendly and always with greetings and smiles (^~^) hotel food always slurrrrrrppppppsssss~ yummy~ of course will stay there again for my next singapore trip. keep it up!

i only stayed for a night with my friends (there was 3 of us), but my overall experience was definitely 5/5. we arrived early in singapore and got an early check-in which totally helped because we weren't planning to stay in the city center to wait for 2pm. when we got into our hotel room, everything was neat, there was extra towels and overall, a really great room for the cheap price we paid for it. we even found an extra pillow which was a great bonus. location, location, location! that is definitely the best part about this hotel. it was so close to orchard and even the somerset mrt station. we didn't get breakfast with our room, so waking up in the morning to get some food was way easy. we're already planning for another trip to singapore and have already decided to stay at this hotel again. i would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good stay in singapore!

The location is the main part of my review. The locations is a bit far from the central orchard (takasimaya, paragon, etc) require about 3-5 minute walk via underpass to there. A bit far from me because the last time i stay in mandarin orchard (this hotel is centrally located). I think the room is a bit small compare to other hotel that i've been stayed in singapore. Other than that the service and staff are hilton standard, whiches a good one. One of the restaurant at the hotel are claimed one of the 50th best restaurant in the world by the brochure in the hotel. Oh by the way it doesn't have free wi-fi whiches disappointing and one time i take a shower the water heater is not working like it supposed to do (only slightly warm compare from the other time i used the shower)

Overall it was an awesome experience. The room was spacious, nicely furnished and decorated, bathroom was big and cosy, bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is located really close to Orchard Road, a good 20-minutes leisurely stroll or about 2-3 bus stops away. It was not cheap, but it is worth every single cent we paid for. The brunch at Le Brezza was very good too, they have really nice and fresh seafood, best oysters we ever had. On the downside, we found the spread for the evening cocktail very limited. And I craved for ice cream and called the personal butler to find out what flavor ice creams they had, however, they couldn't tell me and I was only told 'seasonal flavors'. Nevertheless, this wouldn't stop me from going back to St.Regis again. We were very satisfied with our stay overall. Oh, not to forget, they upgraded us to a better room and arranged for late check-out without us asking for it even. Great value-added service! Two thumbs-up! Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I had a relaxing stay at Lloyd's Inn for 1 night. The hotel was near many big shopping centres and eating places (there's a 24-hour Indian cafe/restaurant on the same street), yet is quiet enough for us to enjoy some private time. We love the outdoor bathtub the most, it was the highlight of our stay. We were lucky to get the skyroom on Agoda, because it was stated as sold out on the hotel's page. We had a peek into the Reading room on our way to our room, and it seemed pretty small though sufficient enough for a party of 2. So, we made the best out of the room we got - that means spending lots of time outside in the tub. The staff was friendly and most of them are locals, from the receptionist to the cleaning aunties. :) Few gripes we had was there wasn't a flask in the room (my boyfriend searched the drawers), and there was only a curtain to separate the outdoor area and the toilet. A sliding door would have been nice. When it rained at night, it was quite loud and gave me quite a good scare - but thats just me. Other than that, we also thought the price was tad steep for 1 night even though it was a promotional price, as the pool was not big enough for swimming and there was no cafe in the hotel (but to be fair they gave us breakfast vouchers). Other than that - pretty lovely place for local/overseas guests. One tip is to be sure to book a room that you would enjoy - for us it was the outdoor tub for it meant we could bask in the sun in our own backyard.

How many 3 star hotels offer bedroom slippers, hair dryer, a fridge, a safe, and bathroom fittings reminiscent of a 4 or 5 star hotel? My only complaint was the noise from the water outlet in the bathroom. It's about a 400 metres walk on level ground from the train station and the bus stop is just outside the hotel. They have a shuttle to Orchard Road, the Botanic Gardens and also to the train station if one has a lot of luggage. The staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful; especially Mona!

The Fort Canning Lodge is a relatively cheap (for Singapore) three star hotel, which is one of the two budget hotels I may stay at transiting Singapore 7-8 time annually as academic. Have been staying there off and on since the late 1990s. Basically a family hotel rather than a business hotel. Location is just around the corner from Plaza Singapura, and not far from the Clarke and Boat Quays. Just across the street from Fort Canning, best park in Singapore. Laundromat in the basement. Breakfast is okay but not great, so I would normally just book the room alone and go to McDonald's nearby for breakfast. Would recommend it for anyone on a budget. Great value for Singapore purposes.

I visit Singapore every year, and I often spend at least a couple of nights at the Parade. The hotel is a solid 4 star hotels. Good service, good rooms, and a very inviting pool. In places as hot as Singapore, knowing that there is a nice pool waiting for you after a long day of walking/shopping/sightseeing is always a plus. The superior (standard) rooms are a hit/miss. Some of them are dark, specially the ones below the 8th floor. The executive rooms are a bit more expensive, but very bright and elegant. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is right at the junction of Orchard Rd and Taglin Rd. This is the most expensive area of the city, with great houses, embassies, streets lined with century-old trees, and the beautiful Botanic Garden near by. And all of Orchard Road best shops and malls read to take your cash.
