Location : very good and close proximity to Woodlands checkpoint for all those coming in from Singapore. Hotel Facilities : I personally didn’t try any but the pool looks awesome for kids. Room: Booked a deluxe room ( comes with one queen bed and one single bed) for 2 adults and 2 kids. Room is a good side and bathroom is also a good size. Comes with coffee / tea & toiletries. Didn’t try the breakfast there so cannot comment. The Javanese Massage at the lobby opens till 3am and the foot reflexology was great! I took a foot reflexology (45 mins) and shoulder massage (15mins) for RM73. Hotel is linked to KSL mall and there are many shops there including a Tesco! Take the exit out from Tesco and you will find some great street food! Overall the location of hotel is superb and 9.5 stars from me! Only one improvement required : the lifts are always crowded and take a long time ; guess it can’t be helped as it’s a tall building with many floors!

Really worth the money. I think they marked down the price since the hotel is partly renovated. I have stayed for 2 nights in the princess wing for a deluxe room. For those who want to experience a 4-star hotel at an affordable price, I think this is a great place to stay. They still maintained the hospitality and the confortness of the room. I really hope next time I can stay in this hotel with the same affordable price. Owh, btw, the food in the Selasih restaurant on the next building (also owned by the hotel) was really great. The hotel is within walk-in distance to the UTC building (a place where you can find anything especially foods), very near to Bazaar Karat and City Square Mall. For those who bring their own car, you can actually park at 2 places. First, at the car park next building (where I parked my car, however, the road is really narrow). Second, is at the basement car park just in front of the hotel lobby (where I only notice it in the morning before check-out).

It was a pleasent stay, good deco, courteouse staff, comfortable bed, relaxing enviroment. Location wise it is great, with all the great choise of food selectiom within walking distance of the hotel. Because of the location, traffic is hectic most if the time, so its best to take "Grab" out from Amari and meet your friend somewhere else, because it may take longer time for your frend to come pick you up with the hectic traffic. The pool view room window is way too close for comfort with the opposite apartment, literary can see into each others room clearly. The in room safe is not mounted down to something, and its lightweight enough for a teenager to just pick up the safe. For a 5 star hotel, these can be improve upon. The toilet mini soap holder and cup is the transpatent plastic type, which agian; for a 5 star hotel seems kinda odd. Pool is kinda small but nice, because its not always pack; so one can enjoy by the pool side relaxing. Overall, i would recommend to stay here for friends and relative. Above mention just play to personal prefferenfe and impression. For location, price, and reknown wise; Amari JB is a choise to look at for lodging in JB.

the location is easy access by car,bus and taxi.this hotel is very near plaza pelangi and ksl.lobby is so so but the room is superb.the room is quite big for 2 people and beautiful design and decorations like sofa and working table.the bathroom is nice and with bathtub.breakfast is excellent and many choices.this hotel is one of the best in johor bahru and this is just 3 stars hotel but look like 4 stars hotel.but the swimming pool is indoor,cold and does not look clear.but gym and sauna is basic but it is good enough.

The stay started in a bad foot with a flop of house keeping in the room we received, but after speaking to the front desk they gave us another room, no biggie but the way the manager handled it was very professional and super educated. Very impressed by how they handle a not-so-big-could-be-an-issue-situation, and also gave us free breakfast, that was not included in our original reservation. The view of our second room wasn't as nice as it over looks the city and not the sea link, but the room was nice and comfortable, ok the air con did not work out so great but it was a very pleasant room. The restaurants are nice, food is good and the pool is wide enough, The gym & spa are well equipped and again the staff is very helpful, the parking is a bit tricky (need to go into a underground parking lot, and I missed the entrance) but safe. Is worth a stay & visit, and there is a 24 KFC across the street for any greedy munchis at night.

A lot of people misunderstood the hotel star rating. Hotel star rating just base on what amenity is offered by the hotel. Meaning as long as the hotel offer these amenities it still count as part of their stars. Mutiara is no doubt a 5star hotel, it have all the 5star requirement box ticked, starting with their 24hr front desk and room service. I must say their staffs are very efficient. The check-in is smooth and quick. Later, I call for them to bring us extra towels and bathrobe, which they did promptly. On our second night I ask them if we can loan a wine opener and few minutes later their staff came and even help us open our wine. The room itself is a bit small compared to other 5star hotel in Malaysia but it is clean, well equipped and cozy. The bed is comfortable with a lot of soft pillows. We had a good sleep at night. No noise at all and the temperature control are good. They have a full mini bar although its not complimentary and the price is 5 time more expensive. We got a room on the fourth floor facing the housing area. Not much of a view. The bathroom got a complete set of towels and accessories although bath and shower are not separated. Although Mutiara have a fine selection of restaurant, we only have the time to try Capri, their Italian café and we had a very nice dinner here. As for surrounding area, its next to Holiday Plaza and walking distance to KSL City. Theres also a very nice day spa right across the hotel. Overall mutiara for me is a bit old, but still the best hotel in JB. Two thumps up.

Breakfast choice for me was the executive lounge, as I booked the executive room. It's interesting that I couldn't choose whether I wanted to go for the executive breakfast or the main breakfast downstairs, when the price of breakfast is already paid for (a huge number of room choices in agoda. Makes it extremely confusing to book room. Do I have to pay more to have a choice of where I want breakfast? Paradox of choice?) Made this comment as I find that the executive lounge breakfast is a little limited in spread, but I can't complain about the view and cosy dining environment (definitely great views). Perhaps a little assistance in implementing a degree of decorum in the executive lounge. Way too much screaming by kids in the lounge) It's easy to find the hotel, just walk straight along city square and komtar on the left and you can see it diagonally opposite the road. The welcome cookies were amazing. I wanted second servings (just joking). The beds were also extremely comfortable. I'm more suprised by the speed of housekeeping. My room was done up in the short period of time when we went to have breakfast. My gf found it unnerving that the room service was so quick, I thought it's great I can return to a clean and tidy room after breakfast. TV program choices a little limited. I had a view of the city. It's okay/ so so to me (would like to come back to try the singapore view). Had a dip of the pool, it can get quite chilly at level 13. It would have been great if there's a unisex jacuzzi or sauna room, but I guess this is near impossible to implement now. Overall a very pleasant experience. I would wish that executive rooms would be able to choose where to have breakfast without forking extra (when executive rooms already do come with complimentary breakfast). Would definitely come back again if I revisit JB.

I've seen all these reviews and i'm thinking ,i don't know is it i have low expectation or people have too high expectation . It's not bad for a 3 star hotel . We booked the superior queen room and i tell you it's actually quite big to our surprise. There was even a sofa bed so this room can definitely have 3 people . The cleanliness was good, nothing bothered me except that the toilet floor still had soap when we came in . The staff were very cooperative, very easy to communicate with. We actually went to the wrong hotel initially. Just mind you this hotel is located behind Grand Bluewave hotel , not infront at City Sq . (incase anybody made the same mistake as us hehe) And there's no view (it's facing other building) so don't book if view is really an impt factor for you. Overall i rate it 7/10 :)

Stayed for a night in their one bedroom, it was beyond my expectation and far best stay so far in Johor Bahru. Apartment is newly opened. The parking was quite safe and I can assure that - especially for Singaporeans who have second thoughts on parking their motorbikes in Johor Bahru. The security guards were very attentive, seen them doing round checks in the premises. The check in was swift and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. Check in time was at 3pm but we checked in way earlier around 2pm. Was issued a room key however it was not really ready when we were outside our room. Waited for 10 minutes to be in the room but it is fine for me. Location is good for solo travellers too as the hotel was just a walking distance to Komtar JBCC and City Square. There’s 7-11 convenient store just right at the hotel lobby in case you need to get something urgently. Now, the cons about the apartment was the parking you have to pay on your own. (It comes with a price I guess) And the major turn off - their housekeeper was very rude. Knocked the door several times at 10:45AM to tell us to check out when we clearly knew the check out time was 12PM. Leave that alone, the housekeeper repeatedly knocked the door again at 12PM SHARP. How intense was that. I dont remember requesting the front desk to get someone for my wake up call. She was also rude when we asked the other housekeeper to confirm the check out time. She gave us her unpleasant death stare and walked away when the other housekeeper was apologizing on her behalf. Very rude and unprofessional. I hope the management can look into this matter. Other than that, theres nothing much to point out. Will still give the 5 star rating!

I remember when I want to book this hotel and my mom said don't trust the photo because we might get different and worse than the pictures displayed. But little did we know that the hotel is actually pretty good. The room is spacious, very clean, nice view, friendly staff and the room smells so good when we enter. You can park your car outside the hotel with a guard on the watch. Also there is 7-11 store beside the hotel in case you wanna grab anything in the middle of the night. I will definitely come back here when I visit JB.

Everything was good. Except for certain things. Got a lil bit stain on bed sheet. Got some hair on the floor. Housekeeping was a little bit late when i asked for iron board. The operator picked up the phone a lil bit late. When i was calling for reception, housekeeping amd room service, there's no one answering. A little lack there. Room a lil bit old but its nice. The view was nice. I got the city view room. Its huge. My son was running around the room the entire time. He was happy. The pool was huge. My son really enjoyed himself. Everything was nearby. The mall, the attraction places and many more. The breakfast for first day was good. The food was delicious and have a lot of choices. The second day breakfast was just so so. Not impressed at all. My wife spent her time up till 10.30 am for breakfast on first day but only until 9 am the following day. Maybe the choices was dull. The best food i ate throughout the stay was The Durian Cake frOM THE Chill Cafe. It was Delicious.

Celebrated our anniversary there! My girlfriend loves the surprise unexpectedly planned by Belllo team. I could say, you can't even get this kind of standard at other 3-star rated hotel. I only managed to check-in at night, the staff(forgot to see the name) really has good attitude and provide awesome service. Not all the staffs there has that kind of good attitude thou. We gotten the 4th floor. Our room is good and clean! No issue with the bed. Some noises can be heard when people are shutting doors or whats not. But seriously, is a norm for 3-stars or below hotels. Hope that they can maintain all these in the future. There is security during the night, food eateries everywhere. Loads of cafes and traditional food right opposite towards Trus. Except that they are having construction which blocked the whole row.. so have to actually walked a longer way. For lazy people like us, every essential needs are just few steps away from hotel entrance. Even when you are hungry at night, no worries. You will be able to find food! The best gratitude I could give this hotel is that i will definitely be back again. Just hoping that they won't put up their price too high. Tried these during their opening promotion.

Top notch hotel. My wife and I stay here about twice a month as we visit my mum-in-law who’s Malaysian. We have gotten to know all the staff by name. Management, front desk, security and even the house keeping. Every time we’re there, they have gone out of their way to make sure we’re comfortable. The rooms are clean, large, and well maintained. Breakfast is really decent too. Or so my wife says, as I’m always asleep at that time. If we have a quip, it’ll have to be the way the blinds in the toilet are angled. If you have a room facing the City Square office building, I’m pretty sure they can see you. Still, I’ve brought this up to both the front desk and security to inform the management. So I’m confident they’ll get that fixed soon. All in all, this is without a doubt, the best hotel in central JB for us. And yes, we tried the 5 star ones too. Hotel, 4 stars. Staff, 10 stars. Keep up the good work guys!

We stayed at KSL a couple of years and back and decided to try Crystal Crown due to its close proximity and relatively cheaper rates. At CC, you didn't have to fight with the crowds for check-in and and the lift. I read the reviews made by previous guests about the wifi, but wifi wasn't a problem except for a 2-hour shut out at 11pm. There were lots of routers along the corridor. The bed was good and clean, and had many pillows. The only issue I had with the hotel was the water pressure from the shower. Our rooms were on the 2nd highest floor and we booked their 2nd best available room. Since we paid only $65sgd for the room, we should not have too high an expectation. we will certainly be back.

Basically nothing much to shout about, standard hotel. I have chosen this hotel due to its affordable fare for family suites (hardly to get family suite in such cheap price in the other hotels around). However, we were checked-in late (was stated in special request column when we have booked the room via agoda) and were told that the family suite is out of order! Anyway, they offered us two linked room and it's fair to us, guess better... since we get one extra bathroom XD The buffet breakfast is another turn down, average food and less variety... hmm perhaps what you paid and that's what you get... Will only come back to this hotel if there are more than 3 of us due to the price.

Stayed one night whilst visiting JB. I am a seasoned traveller, always going for quality but at the same time not breaking the bank to have it. For the money I paid, this was excellent. Clean rooms, excellent rain shower bathroom, friendly and diligent staff. Best of all, really nice coffee at breakfast along with the standard nasi lemak and other western food like sausage and halal hams (only in Malaysia). Would stay here again if the price doesn't change. Would rate it excellent 3 star hotel or a decent 4 stars.

The Deluxe room is spacious, equipped with comfortable bed, fine furnishing lights, air con is cooling, bathtub is up to standard, window view is beautiful. Luxurious 5 star hotel comfort at the pricing equivalent to 3 star hotel makes Zon Regency by the Sea the most value for money. Be spoilt for choice of duty free for liquour and cigarettes, friends and families both a good gathering location. With the Woodlands Johore causeway link bridge at visible distance, Singaporeans will never miss home again. Zon regency will be my first choice of stay in Johore anytime!

Our 2nd visit here. Fairly new and nicely decorated hotel with lift to hotel room, and friendly reception. Good walking distance from city square 5-7mins, including one short stretch of stairs. Room is comfortably sized with large nice bed. Sheets are clean, housekeeping is acceptable, facilities are basic and includes mini fridge, bottled water, clothes hanger, clear towels, basic toiletries and hair dryer (by request). Nice and basic interior deco with shophouse windows and semi-blackout curtains. Bathroom with exhaust was good. Overall great great stay. Only consideration would be sound insulation -was not the best, nearby construction noise could be problem for light sleeper. For perfection, consider better toiletries, more tv channels and hot water for late night supper!

I had booked just a night at the Bliss Boutique Hotel. At first when I saw it was basically several converted shophouses, i wasn't too enthusiastic about the place. However from the moment we parked our car at several lots reserved for hotel guests, I began enjoying the place because the security guards were helpful. Walking into the lobby was another surprise, It was clean, great interior designing, welcome drink nicely tucked nearby a massage chair for guests to try self service. We were given a room on the 3rd floor of the hotel but it started to rain so much the ceiling started leaking. We were immediately given the option to switch rooms with the receptionist herself coming up to help us with our luggage and apologize for the inconvinience. I had made a sandwich from home that i didn't want to eat so i asked if they could refrigerate it for me till the next day and this they did. The hotel staff, Chew Jiz was very pleasant and accomodating to our needs. The rooms were small, enough just to fit a queen bed with a little room to walk around the bed and had a small shower too BUT, it was a genius of a room. They made up forthe lack of space with clever ideas from Ikea to maximize limited space. For example, they had a foldable bathroom door, 2 long hooks on the wall with some hangers for hanging clothes with a make shift table underneath that was made from a simple wood panel, a tiny table designed for coffee and tea. foldable/collapsible bathrooom door and an LCD Wall mounted tv. The sheets were clean n crisp, beds well done, cleverlighting and beautiful light fixtures, Clean and cleverly designed bathroom with adequate towels, Great water pressure from the shower and sensible toiletries. They provide room service and are helpful to explain whats nearby restaurants wise. Besically they have manage to give the customer a taste of regular 4 to 5 star hotel ameneties in a clever and compact way But this place is not for the Claustrophobic.Breakfast was excellent!

I booked this hotel because of the design which quite attractive. Day one i booked from agoda and happy with the service and accommodation and second day i asked from the front desk to extend my stay and they offering better rate using my government ID which very thoughtful and i will definitely recommend this hotel to my friend. This hotel also very nearby to the JB Central and easy access to go around JB by public transport. There's no restaurant at this hotel but u can find food at nearby shopping complex.

In my previous review of the same trip I mentioned some info is missing from agoda when I booked but a phone call tobthe hotel cleared my doubts. For the benefit of others, Hotel CIQ Johor Baharu hotel rooms are like this: Standard - single bed Superior - double bed Deluxe - one single bed one double bed Family room - two double beds Booked one superior and one deluxe room as the family room was fully booked as it was the year end school holidays. Rooms were clean. Newly renovated. Lift/elevator was new and uses touch screen buttons. Confortable pillows and mattress. Toiletries bare minimal and only 200/250ml of water in a sealed cup provided. Bring your own hair dryer and toothpaste/toothbrush but there are at least 3 sundry/convenience stores nearby and on either sides of the hotel like a few steps away selling all yr necessities and bread, snacks etc. A stone's throw from restaurants, Chinese or Muslim food available at nearby restaurant/shops. In room internet erratic. Fast enough but my devices kept getting disconnected. Overall value for money for the size.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and booked for a family room. The room was very clean. This family room doesn’t have any windows, so you might need to inform them earlier if you need a room with windows. Staffs are so nice and helpful. There was even a ‘mini grocery store’ at the lobby - which my kids love it! It is one of the best value hotel i have stayed. Thank you 😁

we arrived at 8.30am and left our luggage with the concierge, the hotel is only 10 minutes and RM10.90 away from the Malaysia-Singapore link using coupon taxi, which is very reasonably priced. the hotel room is not lavishly furnished but it is spacious and has everything I needed, a shower, toilet, mini fridge, a telly, and it's very clean. You have to order a taxi to get one because the place is quite remote, but at RM2 surcharge it's really not a big deal.

even before i book from agoda i have been staying in this hotel for a few times but with agoda the price is better and i was surprise that they have cable tv now with star movie it was something new for this hotel where they don have it before and the guest will not be boring even they wanted to stay in the room for the whole day it's a regret that they do not have wi-fi in the room hope they improve on this

Location-not my first time in this location as it is near the CIQ to Singapore but without car park. Therefore only suitable for flight travellers via SIN or JHB airports or bus. Those who drive from other parts of Malaysia, sorry no parking. Eats-just around the corner is Meldrum Walk, if you do not fancy hawker food, City Square Mall is just nearby where you can get higher end food. BEWARE-there are some vice activities and prostitutes may be hanging out outside the hotel, but as long as you avoid them it should be ok. Staff-There was one elderly Indian man-Senior staff? Very courteous and professional as a hotel staff. Facilities-very good, booked the room with window and it was big and spacious for one person. Facilities-TV Channel. Fox Movies...Wowww, this is one reason that I wish I could stay longer and more in my room. The availability of movies means you have your own private cinema from the bed. Quite hard for a business traveller like me to leave the room though xD

UTC JB RM8.00 JB Sentral RM7.00 KSL Resort RM8.00 For the hotel rate you pay, this hotel is very good. Hot water shower, toothbrush, coffee making facility, LCD TV and dressing/writing table. Best rate will be when you book through Agoda. Beautiful stay.

Geat value for money. i booked the room with shared toilet and i had the good surprise to find a shower and a washbasin in my room (actually ony the toilet was shared and it came as a good news). The hotel is ideally located at 5 min walk from jb sentral and from the city tower (& the huge shopping mall)....i have to admit i had mixed feelings about the location at first sight (some drunk people, some prostitutes and some cops in the small meldrum street) But after 6 nights at meldrum hotel, i realized that everybody is living in absolute peace here and the atmosphere is just great ! i felt like i was in one of the streets of the movie "blade runner" ! Many restaurants and food stalls in the tiny streets around, many shops, 7eleven, laundry etc, many great people from many different origins. ....Quiet place and The staff is very helpful. i recommend.
