the hotel is located at the best location in Riyue tan with breath taking view. The hotel is decorated with good taste and staff is friendly. One area that needs improvement is the swimming pool area in 12F, we visited the pool on Apr 16, we found the dead frog and leafs floating in the hot pool, we mentioned to the staff, he ignored us and continued to play his cell phone. In my view, the swimming pool is one of selling point of the hotel, this area should be well maintained, at least the staff should clean it before opening to the public.

It is highly recommended to book a lake view room during your stay in Sun Moon Lake. It is especially calm & relaxing during the night. I am not sure about other hotel, but all rooms at this hotel will have their balcony light off automatically at 10pm, should be for visitor to better enjoy the calmness of the lake? Not sure about that though. Another plus point is that the hotel provide several in-house games/activities such as basketball machine, billiard, Ice-hockey table, X-box & Wii player. Personally, I love the breakfast served! Wide variety with a mixed of Chinese & Western style. However, the location is not the best among hotel in Sun Moon Lake. We have to take a five min shuttle bus to the "central" of Sun moon lake where all the local eateries and public transport are located at. Alternatively, you can walk which take round 15-20 min.

What a delightful hotel with a beautiful lake view and convenient location!  We have been visiting many National Parks both in the United States and Taiwan.  Sun Moon Lake National Park and Hotel del Lago definitely has been the best experience we’ve had so far.  Hotel Del Lago’s location provides unparalleled views.  You can sit at the balcony of the hotel room and enjoy a wonderful view of the lake.   Even though the facilities are not equivalent to a five-star hotel, the location, the views, and the staff were outstanding.  Jerry, the Executive Secretary, is super friendly, professional, and very accommodating to our needs.  He is willing to go the extra mile to give us a lots of tips regarding nearby tours, even the tours for our next destinations.  The hotel is also situated nearby downtown Sun Moon Lake which have many dining places you can choose from.   It only takes three minutes to walk from the bus stop to the hotel.  Furthermore, there is a biking trail just a few steps awa

Location is very good and very close to bus station and boat harbor. There is also many shops and restauraants. Hotel gave us a coffee coupon. Inside room has big hot spring bathtub and it is wonderful. Hotel has morning climbing free event and can enjoy nice view of Sun moon lake and tea plant. I heard sometimes we can see mountain monkey. Workers are very kind and professional, One worker can speak Korean and we had a nice chat with her. Outside swimming pool is very nice and outside hot spring side. Morning buffet is also good to enjoy Taiwan food. I already booked a room on 12/14 to visit this hotel and moon lake hotel again.

The hotel is slightly worn along the edges but the cleanliness is good, just that its definitely not new. The view is absolutely gorgeous and the price of the room does really justify it. We stayed in a Japanese styled room with lake view. The room ambience and the lake view matched perfectly, making us feel like we were in Japan. The staff tried their very best to be accomodating and offered great service but the hotel was very full, thus we had to line up for some time for the buffet dinner which was a little odd considering the extravagant price that we paid for. Nevertheless the hotel did their best, and they even had an excellent band performance.

If you’re planning to stay in SML, Ita Thao is the best location to stay because it’s the most “touristy” place I would say. It’s really close to the Formosan Aboriginal village which I loved. This hotel is the best hotel to stay in for the price paid. It has a beautiful lake view which is so close to the pier hence you get to take in all the view and whatever is happening downstairs. Unlike many hotels that we walked past which seemed to be so far from everything that it kinda winds and dies down towards the evening cuz you don’t know what’s going on. So near to food. Breakfast had a good spread and was delicious but the best part of it that it’s free :’). The hotel staff were very nice and accommodating, although my Friend and I are mandarin speaking so I can’t say for non mandarin speaking guests. But they are so nice that it’s nothing Google translate can’t help. A lot of the attractions in SML can be easily obtained/inquired at front desk. The room is comfy and spacious enough though not exactly luxurious. Overall, loved my stay there ❤️

Me, hubby, our one year old daughter and my parents stayed in this hotel. we booked the quad room with lake view. Room was clean and with breathtaking view of the lake. The bed was so comfotable that my daughter just lie down and doenst want to move. There is also a water tap with ready hot or room temperature water which I totally like, because I do not have to boil water every time, especially with a baby. Hotel staffs was also very accomodating because we needed to heat up our daughter's food before our check in time. They gave us a switch adapter (ours wasnt able to plug into their socket), which made it all so much easier for us, as we have a crying baby. Overall an awesome stay!

my hubby and i stayed there for 2 nights. the taxi journey from the airport is pretty long but all that is worth when we are greeted by 2 ladies from their front office. we were brought to our rooms with dinner served to us (even though kitchen was closed at that time, they were really nice to keep the food for us). the food was yummy (soup, salad, bread, main course, dessert and drinks). both my hubby and i are impressed with their personalized service. the room we got is a suite and it was huge!! i love the vanity, bathroom area best. it feels like home! the restaurant is cosy and the food served is yummy. the service provided by their staff has surpassed my expectations. the reception ladies (wendy and cherry) have even went the extra mile to print us maps to get around the place (sun moon lake) and our next stop taipei city. they also assist us to plan our transport routes cos it seemed we have been over-charged for our taxi trip. this is the best service i have ever encountered in a hotel/resort! these gals are definitely commendable!

The LeaLea is on the far side of the lake away from the chaos of the "arrival area" where the main town is. We took a boat to the village and walked to the first lea lea hotel we found Apparently there are three of them in a small area. And we picked the wrong one. Not a big deal as they directed us to the right one,----our booking didn't indicate which one! Beautiful place, a little dated, everything is wood, walls, ceiling, inside and out, very unique and different. The breakfast was very good for variety and seemed to cater to everyone..I may have complained about something that wasn't up to standard, and paid the price with extra attention from the staff. OMG kinda embarrassing! All in all an enjoyable stay!

The location is the greatest poin. The hotel is right at the center of the Ita Thao night market where we can find a lot of delicious and locational food. The wharf and bus stop are in 3-5 minutes of walk, very convenient to go back and forth other wharfs with one-day pass boat ticket. The family room is large with 2 windows so we can have the sun light and a side view of mountain. The interior design (wooden parts) is not new but clean. The kids specially like the bathtub. Also the B1 kid club is a plus point. Breakfast are very good, but a bit crowded. The points to improve is the dim light of hotel and the room. Highly recommend.

it was such a treat for the senses to stay at the lalu... calming, soothing, and quiet with every detail, from the architecture to the service. in our opinion, the best way to enjoy sun moon lake is from the massive patio of one of lalu's lakeview suites. things that stand out... our very warm welcome to the hotel nearly put me in tears by the time we were guided to our room to see the unbeatable view of the lake, music created especially for the hotel, the old bonsai tree on our patio, viewing and listening to the rain, very comfortable bed, borrowed art books from their library, hot bath overlooking lake from suite, cool dip in the heated infinity pool, delicious dinner at their western restaurant (we were told, headed by a canadian chef), a kind send off before we were shuttled back to the bus station.

We only stayed one night, but it was actually a really nice hotel. We chose a room with a lake view, which was seriously breathtaking. The patio made for the nicest mornings and evenings, relaxing with a good book while taking in the landscape. The rooms were super clean, fresh looking, though maybe not "new" based off a few signs of wear and tear, not only in the room but in the hotel as a whole. I only have two complaints: 1) we stayed on a Saturday night, and this young girl and her father were playing music on the pier below, which while it was super entertaining and enjoyable from 6-7 pm, it became a little unbearable and headache inducing from 7-9 pm when it finally ended. It's just so close to the hotel rooms, the music seems to be playing inside your own room. I literally had a headache after the third hour of non-stop playing. 2) the breakfast. The breakfast area was ok, you're only gonna have a nice table with a view if you get there early and line up. But the breakfast itself was just "meh". I'd suggest adding some more western options. We basically had cereal. I've lived in Taiwan for 10 months now, and I've gotten used to a lot. But waking up and eating french fries and noodles is something that I will never get used to. Some more sweet options would be nice. The hotel is not new or extravagant, but it's cozy and it has a great view of the lake. Service was also good. They held our luggage before check-in and after check-out. And they spoke a fair amount of English, and humored our mediocre Chinese. All in all, I'd give this an overall 4/5 stars!

This is a nice older hotel on beautiful grounds. They also have cabins which look great but were fully booked during out stay. Grounds have beautiful plants and butterflies. Very close to Ita Thao and the ropeway. Rooms are a bit like a hostel. We had 4 single beds and 2 toilets in our room. Seem to be lots of organized activities on the grounds and the hotel seems very popular with Taiwanese youth groups. We had a great time.

Bamboo Rock Garden is a hotel away from the busiest areas of Sun Moon Lake. Staff are the best. Rooms are spacious. The view is breathtaking. You can get a bike for free from the hotel, some of them with child seat, and explore the lake. However, it is difficult and expensive to hire a taxi. I would suggest you to rent a car from the airport in Taipei, for more convenience, especially if you have babies or toddlers. Breakfast is basic, but good. The F&B could be better in this hotel, but they have English menu and the food is good. Only Chinese food though. There is a small coffee shop with waffles, toasts, tea and coffee. I would definitely come back to this place.

The hotel is located on a slope with main entrance and lobby on its 3rd and back entrance on its 1st floor. The cheapest 3 standard rooms are on the 2nd floor with 2 rooms on the side of the building and a corner room with balcony overlooking public parking lot. This is why the hotel got some mixed reviews since those 2 standard rooms on the side of the building must have no view at all. I was lucky enough to get the corner room with balcony though.The other more expensive rooms are on higher floors above the lobby and should have either street view or parking lot view with the lake in the distance. The hotel's look was not very impressive from outside but its room was lovely, clean and cozy enough. It's bad that our in-room Jacuzzi was broken. The hotel's luminous star ceiling that glows in the dark is a nice touch. Breakfast is served in the nearby sister, Harbor Resort Hotel. Breakfast was plenty and yummy. The hotel offers a discounted unlimited one-day ferry pass for 100 NTD for its guests.

This is a new buliding next to the 5-star Lea Lea old building and located at Ita Thao. We are lucky to get the 5th level corner room with lake view. Other rooms may not have much lake view. Ita Thao is less crowded than ShuiShe which is good for ppl who wants to rest. there is a good food street just 5min walk from hotel. Jetty is 5min walk and cable car station 10min walk. Very convenient. Room is in good condition and spacious. Shower gel is 'Made in Italy' product.

We were hoping there would be a direct view of the lake, but it was not so. I believe this is more of the budget version of The Crystal resort, as it looks more modern and casual than the main hotel. We booked the quad (Shine), and it looked great. My family loved the design of the room, except personally I did not like the curtain partitioning of the bath area from the bed area. The shower enclosure is clear (not frosted like the glass for toilet area), so the shower and lavatory areas cannot be used simultaneously. For people whose concern is privacy, this may be a little awkward (especially if you're staying here with people who are not family or close friends). The shower knobs were tricky to operate, even though a guide was provided (mostly in Chinese). The hotel is located a few minutes away from the port/observation deck, so it's really a good location. There are convenience stores (7-11 and Family Mart) nearby, as are restaurants and food stalls (but because it was raining when we were there, they closed really early--like 6pm). Check-in and check-out were a breeze, we simply fill up a short form upon check-in, and surrendered the keycards for check-out.

The hotel is located at Ita Thao pier. If u took a bus from HSR station, u are very likely to be at the Shuishe pier. Just take a boat to reach the IT pier. Room and toilet are clean. Breakfast can be improved, they do not have much variety and consist of bread, porridge and some local dishes. The WiFi was particularly weak, could not connect to it from my room most of the time. The hotel is located at the hotspot where the night market/cable car/water activities are at. So book this place if you are planning to stay longer for convenience

Our stay coincides with the Sun Moon Lake Musical & Fireworks Festival leading to the runners’ marathon and so room price was relatively expensive. Our high-floor with lake view of the ferry boat jetty, expansive lake and painting-like mountains afar is simply a gorgeous view to behold! However it was a pity during our 2 day stay the clouds were blocking the sunrise due to the season. The room is definitely spacious enough for 2 travelers and the attached balcony although narrow in width sufficiently provided space to sit on a chair enjoying a sip of hot drinks while admiring the beautiful lake scenery. Due to the festivals we felt the hotel was inadequately staffed as our room’s house-keeping was skipped the next day. The waterflow lever transition between bath tap and showerhead was very different from the instructions pasted on the wall, perhaps it might help if the staff could advise on this issue during check-in.

Good budget accommodation for the area but nothing special about the room. The location is outstanding. Our bus dropped us off as the Shuishe visitor centre (the main tourist centre) and we could see the Minren Hotel across the road! The staff were nice and offered us an extra blanket as we were cold. It does get cold so consider closing the windows and keeping the building warm.
