Find hotels in Sun Moon Lake

It is highly recommended to book a lake view room during your stay in Sun Moon Lake. It is especially calm & relaxing during the night. I am not sure about other hotel, but all rooms at this hotel will have their balcony light off automatically at 10pm, should be for visitor to better enjoy the calmness of the lake? Not sure about that though. Another plus point is that the hotel provide several in-house games/activities such as basketball machine, billiard, Ice-hockey table, X-box & Wii player. Personally, I love the breakfast served! Wide variety with a mixed of Chinese & Western style. However, the location is not the best among hotel in Sun Moon Lake. We have to take a five min shuttle bus to the "central" of Sun moon lake where all the local eateries and public transport are located at. Alternatively, you can walk which take round 15-20 min.

What a delightful hotel with a beautiful lake view and convenient location!  We have been visiting many National Parks both in the United States and Taiwan.  Sun Moon Lake National Park and Hotel del Lago definitely has been the best experience we’ve had so far.  Hotel Del Lago’s location provides unparalleled views.  You can sit at the balcony of the hotel room and enjoy a wonderful view of the lake.   Even though the facilities are not equivalent to a five-star hotel, the location, the views, and the staff were outstanding.  Jerry, the Executive Secretary, is super friendly, professional, and very accommodating to our needs.  He is willing to go the extra mile to give us a lots of tips regarding nearby tours, even the tours for our next destinations.  The hotel is also situated nearby downtown Sun Moon Lake which have many dining places you can choose from.   It only takes three minutes to walk from the bus stop to the hotel.  Furthermore, there is a biking trail just a few steps awa

Location is very good and very close to bus station and boat harbor. There is also many shops and restauraants. Hotel gave us a coffee coupon. Inside room has big hot spring bathtub and it is wonderful. Hotel has morning climbing free event and can enjoy nice view of Sun moon lake and tea plant. I heard sometimes we can see mountain monkey. Workers are very kind and professional, One worker can speak Korean and we had a nice chat with her. Outside swimming pool is very nice and outside hot spring side. Morning buffet is also good to enjoy Taiwan food. I already booked a room on 12/14 to visit this hotel and moon lake hotel again.

This hotel is very close to the pier that is the starter point of our journey in sun moon lake. The staffs are good in English and very helpful during the trip and after we check out. We forget the jacket in the room and request them to send us back to the hotel in Taipei and they do it for us. That's a very appreciated service. Highly recommend. By the way, if your group have an elderly person, I recommend asking about the bathroom first because they have quite a high bathtub that may cause of falling.

The hotel is a convenient boat ride from the Sun Moon Lake bus station. It is walking distance to the cable car, and right off the boat dock. The room and bedding is rather luxurious, with an excellent dinner and breakfast. We booked a lake view room and it has a jacuzzi, which is very nice after a long day hike around Sun Moon Lake. The service is excellent, and the staff are very nice and helpful. Although it is across the lake from the main bus station, it is a very convenient and nice boat ride from the Sun Moon lake bus drop off in the Nantou Information center.

This is one of particular buildings in the Sun Moon Lake. It is a big wooden cottage built next to the Lake. It is highly recommended to choose the room with lake view. The room is spacious and with free Wi-Fi. It is amazing to enjoy the breakfast in the hotel restaurant facing the lake on the morning. The scene is really unforgettable. Be reminded that there is no elevator in this lovely hotel but the staff is very helpful so that it is not a problem. There is an outdoor car park near the main entrance of the hotel. Although there was several hours power cut when I stayed in this hotel due to typhoon, it did not change my view on the hotel. Oppositely, the power cut incident showed me the professionalism of the hotel staff. I am sure I will come back when I visit Sun Moon Lake again.

it was such a treat for the senses to stay at the lalu... calming, soothing, and quiet with every detail, from the architecture to the service. in our opinion, the best way to enjoy sun moon lake is from the massive patio of one of lalu's lakeview suites. things that stand out... our very warm welcome to the hotel nearly put me in tears by the time we were guided to our room to see the unbeatable view of the lake, music created especially for the hotel, the old bonsai tree on our patio, viewing and listening to the rain, very comfortable bed, borrowed art books from their library, hot bath overlooking lake from suite, cool dip in the heated infinity pool, delicious dinner at their western restaurant (we were told, headed by a canadian chef), a kind send off before we were shuttled back to the bus station.

we really like this hotel. the location is perfect, next to the ferry terminal. and not far from the intercity bus terminal which is right outside the sun moon lake visitor centre. the hotel building is relatively new and clean. the bedroom is quite spacious with unlimited hot and cold drinking water. the only thing was that staff cannot speak english. the hotel serves good food.

The hotel is located at the opposite end of the main Sun Moon Lake visitor centre. You will need to take a boat over to Ita Thao where the hotel is situated. It's conveniently located to the ropeway station and the overrated Aboriginal cultural village. The drawback is that check-in time is only at 3pm and check-out time is 11am the next day! Moreover, there are very limited eating places in Ita Thao and most are quite expensive. So, do prepare to either 1) bring your own food; or 2) buy cup noodles at the 7-11 convenient store nearby. Otherwise, the hotel is clean, value for money and the staff are friendly. Also, there are dense fog that engulf the lake quite often and if you are rushing for your next bus out of Sun Moon Lake to the HSR station, please do remember to give yourself a couple of hours advance notice.

My family stayed at the Youth Activity Center for two nights. Even though the facilities were a little dated, but the location was excellent and the price was good. The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station was right across the street. Along the gondola ride up to Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, we had a breath-taking aerial view of the beautiful Sun Moon Lake. The visit to the village was yet another high-light of our day. It was eye-opening for my college daughter. There was also a theme park that looked fun but we did not have enough time to try. There was also a bicycle shop right at the entrance of the Youth Activity Center. We rented bikes and rode around the lake. The route was nicely paved and not much slope so it was quite easy. There are lots of vista points along the way for photo lovers. For dinner, we found a great pizza place about 5 minutes walk down a small path across the street from the entrance. It is near the camp site. The bread and pizza were both delicious. The service of the Youth Activity Center was excellent, too. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. The cafeteria staff were very nice and flexible. The maintenance team was also very efficient when we needed help. In addition, during our stay, there was an incident occurred to one of my family members that we needed extra help urgently. Their staff provided timely and gracious help which we deeply appreciated.

Bamboo Rock Garden is a hotel away from the busiest areas of Sun Moon Lake. Staff are the best. Rooms are spacious. The view is breathtaking. You can get a bike for free from the hotel, some of them with child seat, and explore the lake. However, it is difficult and expensive to hire a taxi. I would suggest you to rent a car from the airport in Taipei, for more convenience, especially if you have babies or toddlers. Breakfast is basic, but good. The F&B could be better in this hotel, but they have English menu and the food is good. Only Chinese food though. There is a small coffee shop with waffles, toasts, tea and coffee. I would definitely come back to this place.

Excellent hotel with Jacuzzi embedded in every room. Big screen TV with everything you need. Room decoration is very creative, there is a black light and stars on the ceiling. The hotel location is just 5 minutes walk from Shuishe Visitor Center (The center of Sun Moon Lake) Plenty of foods and convenient stores nearby. Only one bad thing is, bathroom door is made of glass! some transparency part help other knows what are you doing in the bathroom :P

Excellent hotel. Newly built and very clean. Breakfast buffet is at older Lealea gardens hotel 100 m down the road. Breakfast buffet is fine, not amazing, and offers mostly chinese style breakfast foods with some western fare. Restaurants, the waterfront pier, and the cable car are within 5 minute walk. The hotel is located on the Ithashao side of the lake. We enjoyed this side of the lake more - less touristy, less built up and more pleasant. If you are taking the Nantou long-distance bus to Sun Moon lake, you should know that the long-distance bus stop is on the other side of Sun Moon lake (Shuishe). You will either need to take a round-the-lake bus (~50 NT), boat (80-100 NT/person), or taxi (400-600 NT) to get here. The bus and boat run regularly. With kids and luggage they are manageable but not easy. Taxis are not always available - many come from nearby Puli - and if you absolutely need one I would call to arrange for one beforehand. TIP: turn right out of the hotel, then take a right 50m down the road at 'CCC coffee'. Here you will find a pleasant lakeside walking path down to the cable car.

We spent only 01 night there but it was a wonderful stay. The hotel (precisely, should be motel)is just 2 mins away from port, a lot of hawker stalls nearby which allow the guests to find food easily (provided not too late, as most of the stalls closed at 7pm). Family mart & 7-11 are just few steps away, very convenient. Hotel reception also helps with tourism info, can easily grab ticket for lake tour over here. As for those who wants to go on cable car or enter the theme park 九族文化村, you can get the ticket for from hotel (package price available). Cable car station is just 15-17mins walk from hotel. You can enjoy the fresh air and nice lake view while walking there. The hotel just renovated recently, rooms come with all kind of basic amenities, they even have built in spa inside the bathroom. Overall, I strongly recommend this hotel for whoever going to Sun Moon Lake. ;)

we arrive at about 2am in the morning, we inform hotel we will be check in late. location is so hard to find, no one seems to know where it was. when we found it, we are so not convince it was a hotel, it's all dark, very little light lit even at the front, front desk front door open, but no-on guarding it, we call and tap several time, also no answer. we are about to think we are being chopped, lucky our hired car driver call the number on hotel name card, someone answer, only then the front desk staff gave us the key to our room. room was small, cleanliness is not too bad. beds are hard, might be a problem to some. price was including breakfast, breakfast was edible, so so. at the morning we get to know the area, hotel location is actually right in the middle of the jetty terminal, pretty good to go around sun moon lake area. please note, front desk/hotel staff speak almost no english, eventhough this is a tourist area, please be prepare with some mandarin skills.

Our stay coincides with the Sun Moon Lake Musical & Fireworks Festival leading to the runners’ marathon and so room price was relatively expensive. Our high-floor with lake view of the ferry boat jetty, expansive lake and painting-like mountains afar is simply a gorgeous view to behold! However it was a pity during our 2 day stay the clouds were blocking the sunrise due to the season. The room is definitely spacious enough for 2 travelers and the attached balcony although narrow in width sufficiently provided space to sit on a chair enjoying a sip of hot drinks while admiring the beautiful lake scenery. Due to the festivals we felt the hotel was inadequately staffed as our room’s house-keeping was skipped the next day. The waterflow lever transition between bath tap and showerhead was very different from the instructions pasted on the wall, perhaps it might help if the staff could advise on this issue during check-in.

Good budget accommodation for the area but nothing special about the room. The location is outstanding. Our bus dropped us off as the Shuishe visitor centre (the main tourist centre) and we could see the Minren Hotel across the road! The staff were nice and offered us an extra blanket as we were cold. It does get cold so consider closing the windows and keeping the building warm.
