"The place was beautiful and clean and our suite was just below the penthouse with clear view of the city. We went out on the second day not knowing some helpers are gonna clean our room, we left some valuable items on the bed and when we come back, none of our item went missing. We even extended our stay for a couple of hours and the host attended to our request nicely. Just one cons, there’s no water heater or boilers. But there is a microwave in the kitchenette. Definitely would consider staying here again."

The location is superb, everything is just in walking distance, including paviliun mall, fahrenheit88, sungei wang ,bukit bintang. The hotel itself is clean, neat and very secure. One important thing is you have to call the contact in your agoda reservation before you check in. Otherwise you cannot enter the building"

"First impressions, beautiful from the outside and very welcoming on check in. Great check in desk which are individual and you can sit and talk to the staff rather than waiting in line like most other hotels. Staff are very courteous and friendly and go out of their way to help. The rooms are spacious clean and tidy. The best thing about this hotel is the convenience to all the shopping. Pavillion is les then 5 minutes walk. Sungei Wang Plaza & BB Plaza and Starhill Plaza. And many more. There are also lots of places to eat and a little side street turn right at KFC and you will end up in bustling street full of side walk cafes with local cuisine. It is also great to just grab a beer and people watch. All in all if you only have a few days in KL stay here as everything is right on your doorstep."

"I am a frequent traveller to KL and have stayed at several hotels and really, The Journal despite its modest size is right up there with the likes of Holiday Inn, Berjaya Times Square Hotel. I stayed for five nights for my most recent visit and chose The Journal because on Agoda, it looked new and chic, the rooms looked well-designed and clean and the location looked great. When i arrived, the hotel is exactly what it looked and promised on Agoda. Pictures can only tell you the outlook and there are hotels that can match or even surpass the spacious, modern, well-designed that The Journal has, but! Not many hotels can match the service level of the staff. The bell hops are attentive and offered immediate help with my large luggage. We rang the service desk several times for stuff like LAN cables, HDMI cables (just to project our laptop on TV) and each time we were greeted by a friendly and helpful staff. When one of the light bulb repeatedly fused, the staff helpfully tended to it each time even though it's a small bulb by the side of the bed. Every staff i met at the hotel is worth commending. The roof top pool is not too big but has a good view for a relaxing dip. The soccer channels on TV is fabulous! Location-wise, it is a convenient 5-min walk to Pavilion and if you cut through Sungei Wang Plaza (5 min walk) and through Low Yat Plaza, Berjaya Times Square is a 10-min walk away. With Lot 10 diagonally opposite and Bukit Bintang LRT station a 3-5 min walk away, the location is near perfect. Right outside the hotel is a bus stop which seems to go most places (i didnt try though). Now the cons. Or con. There really isnt much to complain about except for.. the wifi. Certain times of the day the connection is really weak and thats why we needed the LAN cable. And perhaps the room being just a wee bit dim. So, really, those are my only gripe about The Journal. I had a fantastic stay and my wife thoroughly agree and enjoyed her stay as well. Thanks again to all "

"Check in was no hassles. The room was reasonably large and clean. The only things that were missing was a robe and complimentary slippers. Apart from that, I can't fault the hotel. I stayed there for 10 days and can't complain for the price I paid. Within walking distance to the Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang, Sungei Wang, Lot 10, Fahrenheit and Pavilion. A 5 minute walk to the LRT isn't that bad. If you compare it to other hotels that are closer to the LRT, around the same location, the others were a lot older, smaller and dirty. I would definitely stay at this hotel again."

"the hotel is located in inside, or rather on top of the famous berjaya times square shopping complex, which is located at one of the most strategic tourist destination in the city of kuala lumpur, which is the golden triangle. the hotel is of walking distance to sungei wang plaza, bb plaza, low yat plaza, lot 10 shopping mall, pavillion mall, sephora, fareheitt 88 which are all famously and most visited shopping centres in kuala lumpur. hence, if you are planning to go shopping and enjoying the vibrancy of the city, this is will be the choice of hotel that you can opt for. the hotel itself if greatly maintained, hotel staff are friendly and helpful, we were escorted by the bell boy to carry our luggages to our room. since we were staying on the 23rd floor, the view of the city skyline is superb. the studio suite that we were staying is spacious, with attached kitchenette, bathroom, dining table, extra stereo set with clean and comfortable interior."

"We stayed a night (27-28 Dec 09) at Swiss Garden, enroute to Penang. Check-in was a breeze and we were allocated a non-smoking room with 2 single beds. It is close to Berjaya Times Square and Sungei Wang Plaza, definitely a good place to start your shopping. It is also close to the night market along Jalan Alor, plenty of local food to choose from. The breakfast they served up is one of the best we had during our road trip in Malaysia."
