However you can find a lot of eating houses at Chong Nonsi BTS station which is only one stop away.

Getting to the BTS or MRT station is not a problem because the hotel does provide free shuttle service there; the same cannot be said if you were coming back to the hotel though (which is comparable to other hotels in Thailand I believe). The hotel is about an 8-min walk from Sala Daeng BTS station but if you're tired from walking, the cab fare from the station to the hotel is about 35 baht. Near the station there are many massage parlours and food available. Silom Complex is nearby too. So with the considerable distance between the hotel from the BTS station, you really will get a fantastic quiet night rest. There's a pool and a small children's playground but we didn't get to use those facilities. Staff there provided great service too.

Oh wow! We LOVE the Banyan group. We stayed at 2 (BK and PK) during a 6-hotel, 3 week trip, and the 2 Banyan properties surpassed all others. Vertigo bar is a MUST see - weather dependent so get there at first chance. Breakfasts are just incredible. It's around a 15min walk, or a taxi ride. BUT traffic is brutal in ruch hour making taxing slower than walking. Even up to 30mins to do the short trip! That rule applies to all of BK tho - get onto the BTS system for everything you want. Having said that you'll leave in the morning for MBK, and return late at night exhausted :) Note, the famed night plaza is right next to this BTS station - IT IS CLOSED! In fact demolished. Internet has old reviews so this is not clear until you get there and google maps tell you that you are on the spot and all you can see is rubble :) Spa is incredibly expensive compared to Thailand prices - but about the same as we'd pay in SA only way way way better. It's all relative. Pool is small but quaint. Gym is very upmarket but limited (as all hotel gyms are)

It has a spectacular view of Bangkok that is unobstructed. My only complaint was that the water was freezing. It was so cold that no one swam more than 5 minutes. I was told it feels good in hot Bangkok weather, but it was a pleasant 80 degrees when I was there and the pool was too cold. They should consider heating it. The rooms are also stylish in whites and grays and chrome. They have large floor to ceiling windows and my room had a built in lounging area that was very comfortable. The TV is super hi-tech and allows you to stream data from your computer to the TV. Very cool. The bathrooms are al marble and glass with great rain showers. Being the Sofitel, prices are rather expensive for food. A simple breakfast for two cost $50 dollars. In Bangkok this price is exorbitant. But what do you expect in a 5 star hotel? The staff are very friendly, slightly eccentric, and very helpful. They are a phone call away. The hotel is located at the top of Sathorn Rd. It's close to the MRT and about a 10 minute walk from Soi 4 - a large bar district. It's a bit far from the BTS station, but not horrible. It's just in Bangkok heat, you may not want to walk that far.

The aircon unit in our room leaked a bit and they came and sorted it out very quickly. Check-in check-out was all smooth, no problems, and they held onto our bags for us after we checked out, as our flight wasn't until later in the day. Good location to get a taxi to Don Meuang airport, bit further from Suvarnabhumi but still not too bad.

Lovely hotel! It was fresh and cosy, clean, and rooms are quite big. At least for that low price, this hotel was our favourite among the other two, bigger hotels that were closer to the bts, but also in about the same area. Service was flawless, personal was nice and friendly. There is a nice room for breakfast, and a nice pool on the garden side of the building. The area is relatively quite with parks and small restaurants. There is actually a really nice restaurant nearby, nice bbq under a tent with plastic tables and chairs, but they serve best food in Bangkok, always crowded there.

It's just a 5 minute ride by taxi from the Sala Daeng BTS station which would cost you about 40 baht only. The hotel also provide free shuttle services to the BTS station almost every hour. Besides that, the receptionists are also very friendly and helpful. They have different people for different shifts but all of them managed to woo us with their hospitality.  As for the room, for 700 baht for one air-conditioned, double room, it was beyond our expectations (unexpectedly good, that is). It was spacious and had an attached bathroom which was also adequately spacious. I particularly liked it that they also provide a microwave oven, a hair dryer and coffee sachets on the house. The bed linen and sheets and towels are all clean and sparkling white. There's also room service provided everyday. Internet access is available 24 hours a day at the lobby. They also have their own contract taxi service at the hotel and also a travel agent there.  Outside, there's a 7 Eleven, a pharmacy and many food stalls just around the corner.  Cons:  If you want wifi, it is provided but free for only 4 hours per person. For unlimited wifi, you would have to buy their wifi package.  Also, it is very difficult to find the place by yourself as it is quite obscured from the main street and also a quite far from the closest BTS and MRT stations if on foot. However, most taxi drivers can take you there if you give them the address of the place (most won't know where to go if you just give them the name of the

In fact, 6 stars for the internet speed ! They have long lap pools, wellness studio that conducts lessons such as yoga and pilates 3 times a day ! The spa area consist of a steam room and jacuzzi which were awesome after a long tiring day and operates until 10pm daily ! The changing rooms are spacious and comes equipped with all the amenities you could ask for from body lotion to hair dryer. Towels and bottled water are everywhere which makes enjoying the facilities very convenient. Four stars because the property of the hotel is starting to wear out due to age but the awesome staff, wellness facilities and internet speed more than make up for it ! The only downside is that it is quite a walk away from the nearest BTS station (Sala Daeng) 15-20 mins. The hotel operates an hourly shuttle for guests on request to the nearest BTS station but you will have to sort out your own return journey. But if you are looking for bling bling gold taps, marbled floors or staff who worships you at your feet - then it's probably not for you. :) Hotels of such pedigree are hard to come by ! We arrived at Baan K and was greet warmly by staffs, and again got upgraded from studio room to executive one bedroom! The wifi signal is a bit jittery this time but still ok and the area around the apartment is very quiet which suit what we need. This apartment is only short walk to MRT station (about 5 minutes walk) but a bit far from BTS station (approx 1km away). We took MRT to Sukhumvit station then change to BTS Prompong station to visit Emquartier with no hassle at all. Overall, this apartment is really worth it and we will be back here again for sure.

if you're in bangkok for sightseeing and shopping reasons, then, i would definitely recommend this hotel. surasak bts stations is just in front of the hotel; thus making it accessible and easy to find. if you somehow find yourself lost in bangkok, you could just hail a taxi and say surasak station or ask for the nearest bts station, and get off surasak station. the...if you're in bangkok for sightseeing and shopping reasons, then, i would definitely recommend this hotel. surasak bts stations is just in front of the hotel; thus making it accessible and easy to find. if you somehow find yourself lost in bangkok, you could just hail a taxi and say surasak station or ask for the nearest bts station, and get off surasak station. the hotel in general is quite old and rustic. there is a distinct smell in the lobby, but you'll eventually get used to it. as for the room itself, it's bigger than i expected and cleaner too. the bathroom is clean, and is equipped with a heater. the hotel also provides the usual free coffee, bottled water, and toiletries. moreover, their wi-fi is free which is really a great plus. but if you're really looking for a more luxurious room, then this hotel isn't for you. the breakfast they're serving is okay. the food is not jawdropping-ly good; it's just right. if you're looking for another alternative, you'll find food vendors outside the hotel (except for sundays). the hotel is just right beside blue elephant if you're looking for a fine-dining experience. in terms of staff performance, i could definitely say that majority of the staff are helpful and friendly. some may seem shy or standoffish but it's probably they didn't understand a word you said, unless you speak thai. overall, i'm very satisfied with this hotel given their price.

Actually its old hotel but the room so clean & quite big. They provides FREE tuktuk to nearest MRT/BTS station at a certain hours. So u must asking the staff when the time of FREE tuktuk. It takes 10 minutes walking from Saladaeng BTS,take exit 4. walk to saladaeng road, and just go straight until the big road & u'll found this hotel accross the street. If u wanna use public transportation from Don Mueang Airport,take A1 bus to Chatuchak then move to MRT Chatuchak Park to MRT Si Lom. Ask the MRT staf the direction to this hotel. The room was extremely spacious and had good views, but the bathroom was a bit small. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was included in the rate. It had a wide variety of food for a variety of travelers' tastes. We probably enjoyed the breakfast the most!! The hotel provided a shuttle to the nearest skytrain station, but we opted for a taxi instead (which they called to the front door). There were several dining options outside the hotel and a 7-11 close by. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms (97 Sqm for a one-bed room) are extremly spatious and clean, the bed very comfortable and the view over Bangkok from the balcony amazing. We did not hear a sound coming from the other rooms. You could expect snobbish staff for a hotel of that standing but this is absolutely not the case. Everyone is exremely friendly and caring. the hotel offers a free shuttle service to the closest MRT (underground) and BTS (skytrain) stations. If not available, a short 10-minute walk will bring you there. I definitely recommed that hotel.

i came to the malaysia hotel with my 16 month old son and was a little put off at first about the reviews stating this was a gay pick-up spot. well, hello, this is silom/sathorn.. get used to it. what i found was an incredibly charming hotel that had been in operation for years so everything was clean and organized. the rooms are clean, sheets and towels white, and the...i came to the malaysia hotel with my 16 month old son and was a little put off at first about the reviews stating this was a gay pick-up spot. well, hello, this is silom/sathorn.. get used to it. what i found was an incredibly charming hotel that had been in operation for years so everything was clean and organized. the rooms are clean, sheets and towels white, and the pool was sparkling clean. also, an important note is that all taxi drivers know this hotel, and it is a 5 minute walk to lumphini mrt station (without crossing any streets). fantastic. for per night you can't go wrong. the malai restaurant is open 24 hours per day and they bring the food right to your room. the food is nothing to write home about but it is cheap and tasty (and convenient). the service i received was something i would expect from a 4 star hotel- very impressive. they immediately assisted with my luggage and took it to my room. this was invaluable for someone traveling with a toddler and 50kg of luggage! the only con is that wifi is not free. i bought five hours for baht that i could use in a 24 hour period and from my room on the 3rd floor it was fairly fast. all in all a great place for a great price- i will certainly be back. malaysia hotel has been in operation for many years and they know what works.

The hotel is a small boutique hotel off Suan Plu road. When telling your taxing driver, tell them Suan Plu soi 3 (soi saam). The decor is very chic, but the beds were a little hard (thai standard). Bathrooms were on the smaller side, but for the price paid, it's a fair hotel. Only downside is that it's not hear a BTS station. Uber was our best way to get around. Taxi will try to rip you off if you catch them from any touristy place. If you flag one down on the street, chances are better that they will use the meter, but if they don't, either get out or agree to an amount ahead of time. This wasn't my first time in BKK and I speak the language fluently, but was still ripped off by taxi drivers, so beware.

Have stayed here countless times and this very reasonably priced hotel is 5 mins from Lumpini Park BTS station, so easy access. The hotel is well run with excellent buffet breakfast and one really can't complain about the price.
