"I travelled in groups. On Lebaran holiday, we decide to go to Malang. At first, i intended to book a nice hotel. But, they're all booked. One of my friends asked me to find a hotel via Agoda. After few clicks, i found The Grand Palace. The hotel and room kinda looks old in pictures. Afraid didn't get the room, i choose it without any consideration. Arrived at the hotel.. I think it didn't look as bad as in the picture. The staffs there are friendly and polite. Everything's good. After all, we only used the hotel to put our things and sleep. I think when i visited again, i probably will stay at The Grand Palace again."

This five star hotel really is the representation of Indonesia's richness especially in terms of culture. "I had a good stay. Checkin first gave me another room then i booked, twin bed/older and less then i booked. Not sure for which reason. The bellboy pointed it out when i mentionned the twin bed that it was not a deluxe as booked. I got another room which was nice and i think they renovated it not so long ago. The restaurant was good. Swimming pool ok. The nightclub was excellent with live band, some shows and a karoake next to it. It gave some noise but earplugs are mandatory in almost every city hotel in indonesia anyways so no problem for me personally. Staff was friendly and helpfull. I would recommend this hotel for long stays. Like most hotels in malang it is advised to have your own transport. Good taxi arranging services. Would stay again."

"Was passing through for a day from Batu to Surabaya. Hotel is located in old town, nothing much nearby except for McD. Breakfast was good but hotel is only 3 storey, so need walk up stairs. Room is reasonable. The reception staff (Ms Mala) was extremely helpful, she help us book the Bima train tickets to Surabaya for the next day and went to collect the tickets from Station during her off-duty hrs to give us the ticket during breakfast the next morning. Very commendable... best hotel staff I have met during my years of travel. Will stay again."

"Really lovely staff here. Rooms are reasonably basic but god value for money. The location is great less than a 10 minute way from the train station. Free brewed tea and coffee all day is a winner in my book."

"This hotel is located in the center of Kota Malang - easy to find out. This hotel is old and also the furniture inside the room - (frankly speaking this is for your future). You must renew - make the hotel smell fresh. change all the decoration - the pool...with such a big hotel you can make it nicer...you have a good view perhaps you can build a restaurant at the top with view you have make it from glass...explore more with what you have.
