"We enjoyed our stay despite visiting in the off season when almost all other businesses were closed. The hotel is just a straight ten minute walk from Waiao train station but you do have to walk along a busy road for part of it. The staff didn’t speak much English but all were helpful and willing to use google translate when necessary. The rooms all have an ocean view and the huge bathtub was almost like having a pool in the room! Wonderful smelling and quality bath products and comfy bathrobes were provided. The included breakfast was simple but sufficient (eggs, toast, a few meat options, and fruit). We did wish for bigger/more coffee but there’s a lovely cafe a short walk away which we got our caffeine fix at. The beach is a bit dirty and not very safe for swimming but it is a popular surfing spot and there are protected areas for cliff exploring or to try wading in."

"The farm tour is the highlight of our stay at Toucheng Leisure Farm. For Muslim travellers on free & easy tour, you will need to email them in advance of your request for halal food. Beautiful landscape and my children enjoyed the DIY Lantern experience. Tina, the owner spoke good English and she's very friendly. Her dog, named Golden, is very smart and guided us around the area where we stayed. Go for the creek where you can dip your feet into the clean river water that cones from the mountain. Despite its humbled 2-star rating, I would give it a 5-star rating for its cleanliness, service, food and friendly staff. My children enjoyed feeding the fish and ducks in the pond. Fish food is readily sold at $10TWD. There are traditional games such as chapteh and walking sticks and toy equipment to make bubbles that are readily available for anyone to play. My 8-year old is always kept occupied with all the games and toys. Will definitely come back for more experience at the farm. "

"I've been traveling with my friend for the last week and we've been making an effort to stay at cheap hotels. As a result they're usually pretty yucky. This hotel was the cheapest around and it was great. Clean specious room a Quick walk to the beach. The beds were soooooo comfy and cozy. We were able to park our scooters in in the driveway. Definitly recommend."

"WiFi didn’t work. Very hard to find as is not on the map where it says it was. No host at the place. Had to find a lady to let us in. Long process. Room was clean. Air con worked"
