Find hotels in Tha Phae Gate

"excellent location in old city near tha phae gate. rooms are good size with large bathtub and nice balcony. one block away from sunday walking street event which is good, but hard to get back to hotel via car/tuk-tuk since many streets are closed. breakfast just ok, but most "american breakfasts" in thailand are all about the same unless you are at 5-star property. good service and small hotel size makes this a quiet and peaceful place to stay. this is my second time and i will be back. "

"A welcome drinks were served during our arrival on the hotel. Check in procedure was smooth. The room and toilet is a bit dark, hard to have reading in the room. Sometimes the toilet smell is obvious (don't know why ??) Nice location as it just beside Sunday Market and opposite to Tha Phae Gate. Service is good, staff is polite. The guard is passion and helpful. When the weather goes hot, lots of mosquito at the lobby and lobby washroom. Restaurant, money changer, courier office (DHL) is just beside the hotel. 5 mins driving distant to Chiang Mai International Airport, if no traffic jam. Overall is still good for this hotel. "

"The location is convenient to both the Old City inside the moat and the tourist areas around Tha Phae Gate, Loi Kroh and the Night Bazaar. The hotel exterior and the lobby are very nice and classier than the price would suggest. The room had a bath tub, which you don't always find in this part of the world, and also had a very large flat-screen TV. It was not a luxurious room like you might find in a 5-star hotel, but it was still one of the nicest I've seen in Chiang Mai in this price range."

"Do not hesitate to book this hotel! I have expensive five star taste but at the same time, love a great deal. We stayed at Thai Akara for six nights and could have easily stayed another six! It is located in a central part of Old Chiang Mai and was convenient to all sights. It is tucked away from the street so it’s quiet and peaceful. I can’t say enough about this hotel and the staff. They were extremely attentive and strived to make our stay a memorable one. The daily (free!) breakfast was excellent and full of variety. Love that we didn’t have to think about where we would eat; it saved us time and money! Book it now! You won’t regret it at all! Breakfast was simple but had nice and family atmosphere. 5. Great location, 1 min to Herb Basics (local famous brand) and 5 mins to Gate Tha Phae with delicious dishes along the street. 6. The swimming pool is too small. 7. The hotel was in the lane, which made it slightly difficult for uber/grab drivers to find it. "
