We want a short vacation where: • We want to go shopping (at least for my missus) • Everything is just nearby • No hassle getting around • Nice accommodation • Air-conditioned comfort everywhere • Somewhere we been too many times to care what’s going on outside The answer: Mid-Valley Megamall and the St. Giles The Gardens Hotel and Residences This vacation is during the 1 week March school holidays. We booked a two-bedroom unit for us and another family (my wife’s sister). This time, we took a Malaysian Airlines flight from Singapore to KLIA. We then proceed to take the KLIA Express to KL Sentral. From there we took a KTM Kommuter train down to Mid-Valley station (it is just 1 station away). Total journey was ok even though we do get confused by the lack of proper signage at KL Sentral. There are actually 2 malls in Mid-Valley – the main mall where ‘normal’ stuff is sold and the Gardens Mall: an upmarket mall. When you reach the area where there are branded items and the crowd suddenly thins out…you know you’re in the Gardens mall. Mid – Valley Megamall has 3 hotels connected directly to it (as far as I know as I have stayed in all 3). The Cititel – a budget, training hotel; the Boulevard- a business hotel and The Gardens, their premier hotel. The Gardens hotel is easy enough to find, even though there are two lobby, one for the hotel and another for the Residences. It was walking in familiar surroundings. In fact, I think it’s the 3rd time we’ve been here. Probably 6th or 7th time we’ve stayed in Mid Valley. We arrived around 5pm at the Residence lobby. Checking-in was easy and very quick. There was no fuss. Only thing was there was no porter to bring our luggage. No big issue. No tips then! The room itself was nice. It has a master bedroom with a King bed and en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and wc A second bedroom with 2 super-single bed with an en-suite bathroom and a rainwater shower. First impression is about the hote lobby which is wide and clean. Upon greeting by the receptionist, the warm being given has vanished the tire of driving from other state to Kuala Lumpur. The room itself is comfortable to allow me take a good rest before I start my shopping spree. Room price is reasonable. The best thing is the hotel connected to The Garden Mall and Midvalley Mall, where I can spend my whole day by having different of nice cuisines and shopping for sure. Will not hesitate to recommend friends to choose this hotel.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Rooms are new, clean and comfortable. I came with my husband and son for a 1-night stay to attend my daughter's graduation from a pre-U program at UM. It is very convenient since it is so close to UM, less than 5 minutes away by car. We stayed in a Grand Deluxe King room which provides a large king size bed, a very comfortable one I may add. The only thing is we had to bring a mattress for my son to sleep on since the hotel does not have a family room for 3 people or more and we did not want to pay for an extra bed. A lot of choices for breakfast meal, you should allocate at least one hour so that you can taste everything - the meals I had was good except for the omellete which did not taste like normal, probably the cook had added too much spice on it or there's something not quite right with the ingredient; I couldn't figure it out but I did finish all of it since I like omellete so much. Staff was awesome, couldn't ask for a better treatment. Parking is free as well. I will definitely stay here again the next time I need to visit UM. I hope the hotel will consider upgrading some rooms to become family rooms or triple/quadruple rooms. Overall, BEST, BEST, BEST!!

Location is probably the only concern with no access to public transport but taxi is readily available and cheap in KL. Not quite in Bangsar area as indicated by the Booking Agent but only 10 minutes by car to Mid Valley if you want shopping. There's a modern shopping centre right next door with plenty of food choices and hotel breakfast is very good with reasonable variety to suit most. Room is spacious and clean with basic amenities, while no luxury but excellent value for money – good choice for commercial traveler, particularly if you are not working in the main city area. The best experience is the great hospitality extended by the hotel staff which certainly makes up any down-side of the offering.

This is a converted space from a commercial building, so the lobby was unremarkable, but upstairs it transforms into cozy looking halls and rooms. Rooms are huge, with big windows, cabinets, sofa, and desk. Bathroom is normal, but i wouldn't complain. Front desk staffs are great, housekeeping however, worked very slow that sometimes they didn't visit until 5 or 6 p.m. The location is great, with a few caveat. Mid valley is near, but you can't reach it by foot or by bus, in fact it has no relevant bus stop nearby. LRT is just behind the hotel. Again, it doesn't get you to mid valley (though i saw the construction of the third mall that will change this fact), nor to bangsar mall to the south. There are several food options in the LRT vicinity, but not beyond that. Lastly, it is not a well known location among drivers, and the intricate exits of KL highway could result in some extra adventure, at least for the first couple of days.

It was great stay for 5 days I was in KL for a coaches training course in The Gardens Hotel (next to Midvalley mall). 5 mins walk from the mall, takes a little bit of skill if you don't know your way to and from the mall. Taxi took 30 mins in medium heavy traffic to get from the mall to Valenza. Pros: The bed was super comfy, lighting in the room was great, 24h staff Not so pros: Saw a massive roach that ninja disappeared as I went to take a photo in my room, also wifi in the room fluctuated between on and off.

Mincott hotel exceeded my expectation. What surprised me the most was the check-in staff who was very professional, fast and I think he gave better service than some other 5-star hotel. The room was bigger than what I expected and it was clean, new and well kept. The only downside of this hotel is that it is located in a business complex area and the traffic might be a bit busy in the morning. Anyway the positive points of this hotel far outweight the negatives. A truly value for money hotel

Had a great time at this newly renovated boutique hotel. Decors are totally chic and so pretty. I really wish the hotel room was my personal masterbed room back home. love the toilet's rain shower and ring-light mirror (super good for putting on makeup). hotel staff are always welcoming, warm and very helpful. great service! hotel is tucked away at a very quiet street at taman suputeh, but 99% of the taxi drivers in KL knows where this street is. but it is conveniently located right next to a 711 store and 5mins walk from midvalley mega mall + The garden mall. these are 2 really HUGE shopping malls. 1 disappointment is that when we stayed at the orion hotel, the roof top lounge/bar was still undergoing renovation. it was a bit noisy, but noise level was definitely bearable. and we did not get to enjoy this roof top facility. i believe it would be truely awesome if you get to have breakfast or some drinks at night on the roof top..

Camped at this lovely hotel for 3 nights (extended an extra night because the staff were so friendly!) Had an awesome stay. The staffs were so superbly friendly and pleasant. The 2 girls who works the late shift and the 2 guys who works the morning shift were always carrying a smile on their face and they were so polite and courteous. Location of this hotel is not hard to find. They is a 24 hour coffeeshop, 7-11 and some pubs just 2 minutes away. You don't need to worry about food. Safety looks okay when I was there, though I still wouldn't advise a solo girl to walk along the roads late at night. (in fact I wouldn't advise any girls to walk around alone in any part of Malaysia.) TWO MAJOR setbacks for this tiny heaven is that.. 1: The room is totally NOT soundproof. Anyone standing along the corridors WILL be able to hear what you say (or do) in your room. They don't even need to stand near your door. Yes.. I've tested it. LOL! 2: They don't do housekeeping. So if you're planning to stay a few nights, don't be alarmed if they don't knock on your door to change your sheets. You need to request for new towers and toilet rolls yourself. Water pressure's good. Toilet's clean. All in all, I will be back to Bjorn just for the staff~! Awesome staff, awesome stay!

The hotel is very nice due to the location that near by KL town. Staffs all very friendly and able to help us for most of the request, few nice restaurant around the hotel, a 24 hours hyper market is just under the hotel basement, food and stuffs are very cheap!! We got a clean and comfortable room. Taxi service is also available once we request from the frontdesk, the hotel staff book for us and they also bargain the cheaper taxi price for us! thanks to the staffs so we wont get the expensive taxi, booking with them got no extra charge! so good of them. So far we are very satisfied for the staying, will come again.

dont like the part where they allowed people smokes in the lobby. It spoils the image of the hotel when i first step in the hotel. I wonder all the people are the staff's friends or the hotel guests.. Others are ok, my request of having extra pillow, toilet papers and extend check out time are attended immediately and in polite way. For the price that i'm paying for, i'm satisfied with it.

1st day check in, room house keep in not done. Change to 2nd room, when bath no hot water. Starting actualy check in & out as not confirmed continue stay. 3rd room , consider ok, but, wifi can't connected. Change to 4th room continue few days, no water more than a day, when ask from front desk, feedback was , "I also don't know, what can I do? All is syabas problem..." Ask to contact management, at least give some feedback or solution. Didn't think of get refund to make staff hard, but what's the purpose to pay n check in but do nothing instead of sitting wait fr water. Can't bath, can't wash up, can't even flush after toilet. I did know it wasn't a fault from hotel, but at least give me some feed back or a sincerelity to cool me down, as I can't even make up myself to work. I even give suggestion to them to ask management , maybe half my price, or extend half day for me, at least we consumer get something fair back and get to bath and etc without asking check out faster or charged on late check out... Coincidence the time of water worked back was on 11am, but still in some dirty situation and working not smooth, when nearly normal, should nearly 12. I should check out without wash up or done myself but being charge for late? Counter woman even tell me what to do? If arrange some for u, others how? And out rate already very low... I don't think the rate was a reason or a point, u can take higher rate if u deserved it. Same as higher star hotel charge higher , when refund also refund more and attitude was the heading point as I think... Even asking a pail of water just to keep their toilet clean by manual even no water, also didn't make it after we put the pail front of room... Only the first pail after 3-4 call to reception... Shower in bath room can't get a stand as well. Hope improvement to be done and I will continue support and enjoy the effort of improvement from management team of My Home Hotel.
