"Good priced, comfortable and conveniently located hotel in Bencoolen Street, near Bras Basah Road. Short walking distance to excellent outdoor hawker food court (Albert Food Centre) with fantastic local Singaporean food. The hawker food court is close to Bugis shopping centre and MRT line. The staff were helpful and the hotel and rooms are new. The bathroom was small but efficient. The Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast is available in the Gloria Jean Coffee next to reception but much better value and more options outside the hotel. Local Singaporean breakfast is available at the hawker centre [but no aircon there] or Food Republic on corner of Bras Basah Road [with aircon]. Bencoolen MRT station is across the road from the hotel and Bras Basah MRT station is around the corner. I would stay here again. "

"A good find for a final overnight stay in Singapore before heading home to Melbourne. Whilst the drop-off/pick-up point can be tricky for cabbies and Uber drivers alike, the location itself is walking distance from many great spots such as Bugis malls, the Albert Street Food Centre, and (at night) CHIJMES and Marina Bay. The wine bar downstairs has an impressive wine and cheese list - one which we would have liked to explore further if we had the time! We stayed in a Great King Room which cleverly used smaller space (my partner and I did only share one large suitcase between us and no cabin luggage). A reliable WiFi connection came in handy along with a smartphone that you can take around town with unlimited data and free local calls. Staff also let us store luggage post-check out (which is at noon). A great experience all around! "

"Location: Not very near to MRT station as compared to other hotels in the area, but still within 10-15 minute of walking distance. The bus stop directly in front of the hotel is served by buses on out-bound routes. If you are heading to other parts of the Downtown, you have to walk to the opposite for in-bound buses. Surroundings- There is a 7-Eleven convenience store nearby. The areas around the hotels have lots of pubs, beerhouses and restaurants. Staff- Staff was very friendly. They will guide every guest through every single facilities available in the hotel. Bed- The pod is very wide to fit in a person and a backpack. A foldable table is included for things such as a laptop, and there is a reading light for added convenience. There is also a privacy screen at the entrance of the pod. However, when the room lights are dimmed at night, anyone from outside the bunk can see through the privacy screen if the reading light is switched on. Toilet- The toilets and bathrooms are unisex, and as there were only 3 bathrooms at my floor, there could be some queue at 'peak' hours. Food- The hotel provides buffet breakfast to all guests. Items available are limited (as compared to conventional hotels) but more than what was expected for hotels of the range. During my stay, whenever an item was finished, the hotel staff will replenish with new food items. Food items generally include bakery, pastry, Singaporean/Malaysian local delicacies, Chinese delicacies and sometimes some Western delicacies. Entertainment- The hotel has three enclosed private pods near the reception that come with a laptop and a telephone. The telephone can be used to make free local calls. SUMMARY- Overall I feel that the hotel is the best of its range, providing facilities that can outmatch a 3- or 4-star hotel at 2-star prices. The hotel was clean, comfortable, the staff very friendly and the hotel has facilities that greatly exceeded other hotels of its price range. "

"My 52 nd trip to Singapore since 1964 and on the last 4/5 visits I have stayed at Hotel Bencoolen. Why? The location and easy access from the airport by train; the staff who are ever so nice and recognise me and acknowledge me on arrival and during the stay; value for money and has outdoor pool area and gym. It is easy to walk to the river and many of the museums, galleries and the Victoria Theatre and Esplanade Theatres. Its difficult to name an individual staff member as better than a colleague as I find them all a dedicated Team doing their best to look after their guests. I have already made a reservation for my next trip. The new Bencoolen rail station is complete but will not be in use until Oct/Nov 2017 as the underground rail line has not been completed. However when finished the station will allow travel to and from the airport from just outside the hotel entrance. "

"very easy to find this hotel. Only 5-7 mins walking from MRT Bugis Station. After coming up from EXIT C of MRT Bugis Station, You will see the Bugis Junction department store. It will be a lot easier if you do not enter the store but walk along the outside passway on your right. When you reach Victoria street at traffic lights, look across you will see a local indoor shopping street calked Bugis Street :the largest shopping street in singapore. Then you go across the street before you and the walk through this shopping archade (there are goids like souvenirs, clothes, fruit juice and watches) untill you reach the end. then you will find another small street called Queen street. In front of you is Albert Centre, a local food court in yellow building. You go across Queen street and walk to your left until you see the sign "Bencoolen street" turn right and walk along this very small street (be careful of passing cars). Walk pass a yard in front of Kwan Im temple on your left. walk on another block. When you see a small junction with sign " Bencoolen link" just turn left, you will reach the back of Ibis Hotel Bencoolen."

"Location is good. An 8 minute walk to Albert Food Centre and Bugis+ and on the other side, it is also a walking distance to Plaza Singapura. For a quick bite, there's a Food Republic across the street. The room is clean and big enough for family with two children. Transportation wise, hotel is very near Bencoolen MRT station and also walking distance to Bras Basah MRT. The downside is they don't have ramp at their main entrance, the baggage need to be lift up or bring down, kid stroller too. Hope they can make a plan for it."
