All less 5min walking...bus terminals ....night market...7/11...pizza joint...chemist..hairdresser ..even a bloody cat joint..I freaked..pussy paradise..you feed em in a shop and they just snub you and move on to next tourist meal ticket...room was fantastic..soft bed ..4 pillows..Nice shower ..place to hang clothes...free coffee ..tea..500 baht deposit..pool ..classy joint..and also has painted on walls outside hotels places of interest ie white temple..garden paradise..BEST place ..sawadeeka

It is Le Meridien, so of course I am picky. First of all it is quite surprising to find such a huge mega resort in a place like Chiang Rai. First day was extremely quiet, almost no clients in the hotel, it gives the experience an uttermost feeling of luxury. The following day at least 60 Spanish people in coach bus and 30 Chinese people raided the hotel... it was different =_= It is only for people who love this kind of huge luxury building, and already know Le Meridien's style. They made proper efforts to use as mush teak as possible and have the Thai feeling in the architecture. Service is really good, and "Net" was really helpful, thanks to her! If you are in Bangkok, it is only 1:20 flight to chiang rai and then a 10 minutes ride to the hotel, worth it to go away from the craziness and pollution of the capital. +++ Positive +++ + Amazing setting, the view on the river or the massive trees lighten with lanterns in between the buildings... the camp fire in the evening... we even saw a meteorite crashing few kilometers from us, it is hard to top that. + Spacious and clean rooms + Super comfy beds (zzzZZZ) + Big balcony + Excellent service (special mention to the woman called "Net" at the front desk!) + Food in general in the three restaurants is really good + For 400THB the breakfast buffet is good, but I would say 300THB would be a fairer price + 24/7 gym + Great WiFi + Hotel shuttle to airport (200THB) - the guy is from Fast & Furious though + Almost everyone in the team speaks a really correct to excellent English --- Negative --- - For this price and expectations, rooms should have a double door sas system. We really hear too much the people walking by or the room service ringing and talking to the guests next to us. First of all, they welcomed us wif cool welcome drink and they already now my name (the receptionist had a six sense i think) very2 nice and funny staff..love them, no deposit when check in, really fast check in i ever know, when come inside the suite duplex family my childs said WOW how can the hotel had a stairs to the main room? Really really best comfy i ever stayed, the bath room, the bath rope, the clean of the room, the amenities etc ITS PERFECT!!! ✔Near to central plaza and BIG C supermarket, my child wont go out from hotel whole nite, so we order SUPERVISTA meals SUPERB!!✔ dessert,main course and drink only B180 . 2 day 1 nite the great experience in chiangrai we visit Blue &white amazing temple,Giant KuanYin ,clock tower and long neck karen village we meet young 4 years ladyname Bosha how adorable..thanks Chiangrai and Grand Vista ,we will come back again someday...🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾kap khun kha ...(sorry for mistake spelling)

Memorable. The moment on arrival, we knew we had made the right choice the smiling staff were there to greet us, & that smiley service remained for whole duration of our stay. In fact we only booked to stay 2 nights of our 10 day road trip & ended up staying 5 nights. The staff, that also includes the owner/managers could not do enough to help us, they provided all the services you would expect from a resort style concierge. We never expect fluent English from the Thai, but their English was good. We all had some laughs learning a few new Thai/English words To us the Le Patta Hotel is more of a boutique style hotel, 40 rooms means it is not over run with droves of guest buzzing around like the middle of Bangkok & does not have a 5 acre swimming pool. but it provides a very tranquil, Quiet & easily accessible place to stay. Le Patta is conveniently located just around the corner (yes walk) from the night bazaar, top restaurants, shops, lots of markets, day & night & many other tourist attractions. The room (being a brand new Hotel), was exceptionally clean, well designed, spacious, cosy king size bed, huge bathroom/shower, bedside controls for all the light & cooling, plenty of room to park your cases, free mini bar & so on. A well deserved 4 star rating at an incredibly good price. (Our room was the Deluxe.). Breakfast was al a carte; Thai, English & American but you could pretty much have any combo on the menu. & yes the breakfast service was excellent. Chiang Rai was a great home base to see all that Northern Thailand has to offer without spending all day on the road getting to and from the places of interest. Our 4th trip to Thailand. We have stayed in dozens of Hotel/Motels & this one was truly fantastic Thankyou La Patta.....Kop Khun Krub

To begin, we are truly baffled as to how anyone could complain about any aspect of this lovely hotel. Our room was less than $40 per night including breakfast, & we would have been equally thrilled about our experience at twice that price. Each room is a separate bungalow, so there's an immediate feeling of privacy. It's almost impossible not to notice the stunning grounds & how carefully they have been densely planted w/ an endless list of tropical flowers/plants/trees like coconut & bird of paradise- it's inspired & gorgeous. The rooms are spacious & very clean, the bed is comfortable, & the separate bathroom is traditionally Thai. That means the shower floor is level with the rest of the bathroom, so any water on the floor travels to a common drain. For those who are confused by this, please keep in mind you chose to travel in a foreign country so you could learn about & appreciate differences in culture. The highlight of this hotel is its attentive service. We were greeted most graciously & the front desk was exceedingly helpful throughout our stay. They took care of our request for a 5 AM pick-up to get driven 2 hours to the border, & because we left too early to return our scooter to the rental shop ourselves, they were kind enough to take the helmets and keys so the scooter shop could pick them up later. At one point during our stay I went to the front steps of the hotel to source a cab/tuk-tuk to a nearby shop, & a gentleman also on the steps asked where I was headed. He then offered me a free ride in his truck. Final caveat: the breakfast buffet is one of the best we have ever experienced. The number of choices was impressive (far better than any 4/5 star hotel we've ever stayed at in Bangkok), & freshness and quality were first rate as well. This makes starting the day so much easier, we highly recommend you take advantage of this valuable addition. We loved Laluna Hotel and look forward to staying here again when we travel to Chiang Rai.

This is my first time at this hotel and it’s the best of the 3 hotels I have stayed in Chiang Rai. The location is very good in the centre of the traditional part of Chiang Rai. There are plenty of Thai and foreign restaurants nearby. The Night Bazaar is only 2 minutes’ walk and these markets are great affordable shopping with cheap eating options. The room was very pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is great with much variety. The staff are friendly and helpful. The shuttle to the airport is only 100 THB per person. The swimming pool is big and deep however, it is not suitable for non-swimmers and children. Even the shallow end is deeper than a young child. Supervision is essential. The hotel is popular for tour groups which means that the tourism industry sees this as value for money, but also means it can be very busy, especially with booming Chinese tourism. I have nothing to be disappointed about with my stay here.

The hotel is in a very good location. 4-5 blocks away from the clock tower, 7-10 min walk to Wat Phra Kaew, 10-15-min walk to the City Navel Monument or Night Bazaar, 20-min walk to King Mengrai Monument. The room I got was in pretty good condition and spacious. House cleaning do their job well! The hotel has a food hall, but I think it is open only for breakfast. But, breakfast is an option, besides it is near to some very excellent food canteens frequented by locals, so food is not an issue whenever staying here. All in all, B2 Chiang Rai Hotel is highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at De Hug. The reception staff (particularly the lady who seemed to be the manager) were exceptional. The welcome greeting was warm and sincere and she dealt with all our questions regarding routes to sights in an informative, efficient manner. Quite exceptional these days. The room was spacious, well-appointed and spotlessly clean.The hotel is situated in a most convenient location and within easy walking distance of the Sunday night market and other local eateries. I would most definitely recommend the hotel to travellers. It's about a 20 minute drive to the White Temple - artistically intriguing.Try to visit Canary Natural Resort while you are in Chiang Rai. A beautifully tranquil property in exquisite surroundings. Relaxing to sit on the verandah overlooking the hills, forests and gardens. Coffee (locally grown) is robust and aromatic., particularly at sunset. Thank you De Hug for a most enjoyable stay.

Great experience in a luxurious yet very affordable hotel. The hotel is very clean and portrays a contemporary living in a suburb area. The room is very nice, quite spacious and at the pool area. Staff are very friendly, attentive and responsive to our needs. While the location is far from the night market, it has a scheduled mini bus service and is just in front of the Big C Supermarket. Overall, I am impressed and I would say that it was really an excellent/superb stay at the hotel. I highly recommend it and will surely stay at this hotel in my next visit to Chiang Rai.

Everything about the hotel was a positive from From our airport pick up, to the warm welcome we received at check in we couldn't have wanted a better place to stay after our 23+ hours flying from New York City to Chiang Rai.The hotel is comprised or two story bungalows set in flowering gardens. Our room on the second floor had an outside balcony with comfortable furniture, our room was divided into teo areas, one with a large comfortable bed, dresser, tv, etc. The other with a desk/work area and a small frig. The hotel provided drinking water in glass resealable bottles, which is much better then throw away plastic bottles. The pool has a view of the river along with more gardens. We had one of the best massages we have ever had and before dinner a hotel shuttle took us to the night market and picked us up at the agreed upon time.For a candle lit dinner outside with live music and the sounds of the river flowing by, not to mention a truly delicious Thai meal and great service. A hotel not to be missed if visiting the area.

tayed from 14/08/2016-20-08/206. Hotel looks alright, simple decorations, large bed and low floor as per requested. Toilet is clean but i would suggest the shower water could be bigger because it is really too small. Maybe i come at the monsoon season thus there are many ants, you cant put any food on the table literally. Hotel is just walking distance to Night Bazzar, wet market, temples, and the its just in the city area, you won't scare going hungry. Wifi works well in the room and there are AXN channels. Would suggest the hotel to either have a fridge or a safe or both would be the best. Receptionist are all very friendly and speaks English! Will come back and stay again and also recommend to my friends! Kob kun ka!

We stayed two nights in this hotel. The staff was from the first until the last moment very very nice. The breakfast was very good, organized in the restaurant right close to the hotel. We saw that there was a pool, but haven't tried it, although it seemed to be very lovely. The best for us was the location of the hotel, it is very close to the bus terminal and also to plenty of other points of interest in the city, we walked everywhere.

I wasn't expecting such a great hotel in Chiang Rai as the city is abit of a sleepy place (and the reason I visited to get away from the chaos of Bangkok) but the Rasa is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The whole place is very clean and well designed. The beds are firm and comfy and the rooms are well proportioned and the water is the fridge is free! (important in hot Thailand) The breakfast served was huge (3 courses!) and tasted good. The best thing about the hotel is the quality if the staff. An example was when we were greeted at the car park with an umbrella on return from a rainy day out (you don't get this outside of posh hotels!) Also the staff were friendly and spoke good English.

This is a very good value hotel and wood recommend to all we were in chang rai for 7 days 4 days in the city and 3 days down the road near Mae Fah luang university as my wife was doing a 3 days work on a world health program im well traveled and have stayed in many types of hotels world wide so this is a good all round hotel and value we stayed in a vip room and was a good room every thing in there that you wood need for all types of people was clean and one of the best beds and pillers iv ever slept on really good the pool is big clean and great for a work out of to relax round again the is a big jim if you are in to that and the every thing in there the place is a little out of town but I like that as nice and quite peace full but easy to walk in 15is mins to main area and action if need it and plenty of places to eat on the way withing 5 mins walking distance but we had a moped for a week as was see in the sites and temples etc and area the only thing I wood say is not that if worred me as I love thai food and wife is thai but the not a massive western food amont but apart from that its a amazing great all round place to stay and I will stop here next time I'm in chang rai and recommend to all Kind Regards j spence.

All Good. spacious room, love the shower room floor pattern. Friendly Staffs. Free basic breakfast (toast, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, ovaltine). Windows is facing to motorbike parking, it is not noisy, but the hundred birds on the trees did, sometimes can hear it clearly. Single traveler might better to join the local tour from outside, it is cheaper. but if you are more than 1 person, can book their private driver. Hotel locates near a hospital, it was not a problem, even have some food stall just outside of the alley. 15 -20 mins walking distance to Night Market & Clock Tower.

This is a modern hotel near the heart of town. Our room overlooked the classical pond and manicured garden at the front. The room was spacious and clean. It is a short walk into the central markets and shopping areas. We arrived back from a trip along the Mekong river, through the paddy fields and into the nearby mountains and had a night at this lovely hotel. We returned the rental vehicle nearby before going back to Chiang Mai on a bus/coach the next day. Chiang Rai is much less touristed than Chiang Rai is a friendly tow full of temples within walking distance of the centre and is in the heart of a lovely province.

It's a little bit out of town but had a tuk-tuk guy named Tik (0814738911) I met and found him fair as a cab but always tipped. I liked getting around in it so it suited me. The place is quiet except for dogs sometimes yowling in the property opposite but there are some lovely houses around so quite suburban. The staff were excellent. Great pool and little restaurant. Breakfast was great for me being fruit and vegetables and maybe an egg or Asian dish. No big buffet here but enough to start your day. I gave it a 4 for location but maybe that was a bit harsh cause I did get into town and wouldn't have preferred to stay in town. Aa the driver of Chayandol took me to Laos by boat and Myanmar temples and had an unforgettable day. You won't regret this place.

By all measures, this property runs with the best of them. The staff were very attentive and understood/spoke English well. Room was modern, clean, tidy, and everything worked perfectly. The only point is it is a bit far from town center. This may be 5 stars for some, less for others. Pool was super, clean, refreshing. Would not hesitate to stay again; as a matter of fact, I did book twice on this trip. :)

We decided to take a short side trip to Chiang Rai before our plans to celebrate Loy Krathong in Chiang Mai and we are so glad that we did! Such a beautiful city full of the friendliest, most accommodating people. Wherever we went, we were greeted with smiles and the people are very genuine and kind and the city is relaxed and has not been taken over by tourists. The location was a little trek away from the main part of town but we had rented a scooter from the lobby and had a great time exploring the city. The hotel is only 3 months old so everything is in working order and clean. Bed is very comfortable and the location is peaceful. The staff at the villa are amazing! My girlfriend left her purse in the lobby with no ID and a lot of money. We didn't realize that it was missing until the end of the day and when we were rushing out to retrace our steps we decided to stop and ask at the front desk and the very kind and friendly manager asked for a description and was so happy to return it to us. We were floored... literally, as my girlfriend had close to $500 in her purse! My apologies for the long review but I just had to share that story as we were so touched. The manager was the best, not just for her honesty but she was extremely personable, spoke great english, and was very helpful! :) We have already decided to come back to Chiang Rai and this is where we will always stay.

This newly constructed hotel is in a quiet section of Chiang Rai with of convenient restaurants in close proximity, and a 7/11 & Big C Department Store within walking distance. I would suggest getting the Uber or Grap app. to acquire a cheap ride anywhere in Chiang Rai ie. White Temple etc. Rooms were under 25USD WHICH MADE IT A PLUS PLUS FOR ME. Big bang for the buck!

I stayed at this comfortable hotel on my last evening in Thailand, and was incredibly impressed. The rooms are just as comfortable as any midrange hotel in Europe or North America, and at a fraction of the price ($10). The staff were welcoming and friendly, and handed out free candies to guests upon arrival. The hotel is located around a 10-minute walk from the Night Bazaar and the heart of sleepy Chiang Rai. The bedding and rooms were extremely comfortable, and though the bathrooms were spartan and featured those pesky electronic water heaters, they were perfectly acceptable. If you find yourself in Chiang Rai, this is the perfect place to hang your hat - it's almost impossible to not enjoy your stay here.

Baan Soontree was quiet and great for couples. We had a little private cabin with a king sized bed (even though Agoda only had twins left when we booked, we requested a king and they were able to accommodate!) The staff were fantastic. When a friend from Phuket tried getting in touch with us, they were adamant about making sure we knew and called for us using the hotel cell phone. Another day, they arranged a cheap driving tour for us to the north, half the price of what some of the tours in town cost (that said, our fave tour was a bike tour to the White Temple and waterfall, which we booked in town.) Fitness room was clean and never had anyone in it (couple nice bikes and an elliptical). They provide shampoo, soap, cotton swabs, etc. Only minor downsides were lack of variety in breakfast (though I'd rather eat light and save up for lunch and dinner in town or on the street anyhow!) and that it's about a 15-20 minute walk into town. But the front desk is happy to call you a tuk tuk - they normally cost about 80 baht. Breakfast includes toast/croissants, jam, fresh fruit, cereal/milk, yogurt, fried eggs, mini hot dogs, coffee/juice and a hot dish that rotates every day (i.e. pork fried rice).

This is a nice little hotel with well-designed building and garden. It is super cozy as if you are staying at a friend's place. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. You can have yummy sandwiches and Pa-Tong-Go (Thai unsweetened Churos, in my opinion) for your breakfast with your choice of drink. And that's just enough to get, set, go. ;) It is quite difficult to find the hotel though. If you travel by car, you may need to use mapping apps in your mobile phone (which is what i did) or some sort of GPS navigator. If you come to Chiang Rai by mass transport (plane/bus), you may need to hire a taxi. Or perhaps the best thing is to consult the hotel staffs before you book the room.

This an exceptionally nice place: very clean, large bed w/ down comforter and nice pillows, an electric tea kettle, dishware, a microwave, plug-ins, .... lots of amenities-- by far the nicest place I've stayed in for under $20. The patio is peaceful. I could easily live here for a month. The staff doesn't speak any English, but the check-in process is straight forward: fill out guest card. There are many English signs and contact numbers. The staff seemed very business-like, not particularly welcoming, no hello in English or Thai-- but maybe because I don't speak Thai it's a bit intimidating. And I had just come from a trek, so I was dressed very casually.

Chiang Rai is a small little town famous for its Wat Rong Khun and it was the main reason of our stop-over. We chose to stay at Baan Norn Plearn after reading so much of good reviews and we were not disappointed at all! This guesthouse is approximately 20 minutes drive away from the airport (we are not sure if there are other transportation available, so we took a cab at 100 baht - faced a waiting period of more than 15 minutes due to the lack of car) and located in the heart of the town - very near to all other temples and shops. We requested for an attached bathroom (good water pressure..hot shower) and we simply love the guesthouse for its cleanliness and quiet location. We spent most of our travel staying in boutique guesthouse and we found that this one offers an experience most similar to a home! We prepared our breakfast in the morning (raw ingredients are spread out in the kitchen every morning for your cooking pleasure - yup, you'll need to prepare your own and wash the dishes please :)) ) and every morning, the owner would prepare different local dessert for the guests. My favourite was the taro sticky rice. Awesome..really! Wifi and bicycles are available free of charge while motorbike is on rent for 250 baht a day (the owner will be able to arrange that for you). A bike is good enough to explore the entire place - all the way to Wat Rong Khun and Central Plaza (don't trust the locals if they tell you that these are very far..HAHA..you can even take a bicycle there if you are fit...30-40 minutes drive..so probably an hour to cycle?). We took the bus anyways and the bus station too, is quite near to our guesthouse, like 10 min drive (or less).

Very good value for the money - it's about a 20 min walk to downtown chiang Rai - no big deal since we were mainly there to see the white temple and black house, and there were a few restaurants within walking distance anyway - hotel is quiet because it's about 100 yards away from the main road - staff is friendly - hotel is relatively new and overall very clean, aside from some brown spots at the bottom of the shower curtain - breakfast buffet comes with the room and is mainly Asian food (rice porridge, soup ) and there is also some cereal, toast, fried eggs and sausage. Would consider staying here again.
