Wanted to experience Northern Thailand and was in Chiang Mai for a week. Chiang Rai was an easy commute via Green Bus and Hi Chiang Rai was just around the corner from the bus stop. Lovely new hotel with a pool on the main floor with rooms over looking it. Rooms were clean and recently renovated so the hotel had that fresh feel to it. Easy to get around Chiang Rai from the hotel and just a short Grab to Wat Rong Kuhn (White Temple). There is also a daily shuttle you can catch that will take you to the Central Mall - nice touch.

It is the best resort that I have ever stayed at. Nothing that I can complaint about. The hotel ground and room are gorgeous. We reserved the 2 queen bed room and it was so spacious, I even felt lost at first haha. The staff from check in, to restaurant, to check out are flawless, friendly, and professional. I can't remember but Kate/Katie checked us in and she was the best to work with, always with a smile. I really appreciate how the bus driver made sure people with reservation for night market bus get the priority and don't let other people cut in line. They also gave my mom a birthday cake to celebrate her birthday and surprised her. That was a very nice gesture! Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

The hotel is in an area of shopping malls and the center of Chiang Rai is around 1.5km away but the hotel has a shuttle that will take you to the main in town attaractions. If you have a car, it is ideally placed to get to some of the top attractions around Chiang Rai within less than half an hour in many instances. The hotel is new, very comfortable and has an excellent restaurant with exceptionally low prices. So inexpensive and if such quality that my Thai wife insisted on eating there for most meals! A nice pool with an excellent area for small children, attentive and helpful staff there was little to criticize. Breakfast does cater to Asian tastes mainly but the omelettes were good. Try and get a room towards the back of the hotel as a very busy road runs past the front. Having said that, we were at the front and the soundproofing kept all the noise out. All in all a very good hotel and would stay again. The whole family enjoyed it.

Memorable. The moment on arrival, we knew we had made the right choice the smiling staff were there to greet us, & that smiley service remained for whole duration of our stay. In fact we only booked to stay 2 nights of our 10 day road trip & ended up staying 5 nights. The staff, that also includes the owner/managers could not do enough to help us, they provided all the services you would expect from a resort style concierge. We never expect fluent English from the Thai, but their English was good. We all had some laughs learning a few new Thai/English words To us the Le Patta Hotel is more of a boutique style hotel, 40 rooms means it is not over run with droves of guest buzzing around like the middle of Bangkok & does not have a 5 acre swimming pool. but it provides a very tranquil, Quiet & easily accessible place to stay. Le Patta is conveniently located just around the corner (yes walk) from the night bazaar, top restaurants, shops, lots of markets, day & night & many other tourist attractions. The room (being a brand new Hotel), was exceptionally clean, well designed, spacious, cosy king size bed, huge bathroom/shower, bedside controls for all the light & cooling, plenty of room to park your cases, free mini bar & so on. A well deserved 4 star rating at an incredibly good price. (Our room was the Deluxe.). Breakfast was al a carte; Thai, English & American but you could pretty much have any combo on the menu. & yes the breakfast service was excellent. Chiang Rai was a great home base to see all that Northern Thailand has to offer without spending all day on the road getting to and from the places of interest. Our 4th trip to Thailand. We have stayed in dozens of Hotel/Motels & this one was truly fantastic Thankyou La Patta.....Kop Khun Krub

To begin, we are truly baffled as to how anyone could complain about any aspect of this lovely hotel. Our room was less than $40 per night including breakfast, & we would have been equally thrilled about our experience at twice that price. Each room is a separate bungalow, so there's an immediate feeling of privacy. It's almost impossible not to notice the stunning grounds & how carefully they have been densely planted w/ an endless list of tropical flowers/plants/trees like coconut & bird of paradise- it's inspired & gorgeous. The rooms are spacious & very clean, the bed is comfortable, & the separate bathroom is traditionally Thai. That means the shower floor is level with the rest of the bathroom, so any water on the floor travels to a common drain. For those who are confused by this, please keep in mind you chose to travel in a foreign country so you could learn about & appreciate differences in culture. The highlight of this hotel is its attentive service. We were greeted most graciously & the front desk was exceedingly helpful throughout our stay. They took care of our request for a 5 AM pick-up to get driven 2 hours to the border, & because we left too early to return our scooter to the rental shop ourselves, they were kind enough to take the helmets and keys so the scooter shop could pick them up later. At one point during our stay I went to the front steps of the hotel to source a cab/tuk-tuk to a nearby shop, & a gentleman also on the steps asked where I was headed. He then offered me a free ride in his truck. Final caveat: the breakfast buffet is one of the best we have ever experienced. The number of choices was impressive (far better than any 4/5 star hotel we've ever stayed at in Bangkok), & freshness and quality were first rate as well. This makes starting the day so much easier, we highly recommend you take advantage of this valuable addition. We loved Laluna Hotel and look forward to staying here again when we travel to Chiang Rai.

This is my first time at this hotel and it’s the best of the 3 hotels I have stayed in Chiang Rai. The location is very good in the centre of the traditional part of Chiang Rai. There are plenty of Thai and foreign restaurants nearby. The Night Bazaar is only 2 minutes’ walk and these markets are great affordable shopping with cheap eating options. The room was very pleasant and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is great with much variety. The staff are friendly and helpful. The shuttle to the airport is only 100 THB per person. The swimming pool is big and deep however, it is not suitable for non-swimmers and children. Even the shallow end is deeper than a young child. Supervision is essential. The hotel is popular for tour groups which means that the tourism industry sees this as value for money, but also means it can be very busy, especially with booming Chinese tourism. I have nothing to be disappointed about with my stay here.

The hotel is in a very good location. 4-5 blocks away from the clock tower, 7-10 min walk to Wat Phra Kaew, 10-15-min walk to the City Navel Monument or Night Bazaar, 20-min walk to King Mengrai Monument. The room I got was in pretty good condition and spacious. House cleaning do their job well! The hotel has a food hall, but I think it is open only for breakfast. But, breakfast is an option, besides it is near to some very excellent food canteens frequented by locals, so food is not an issue whenever staying here. All in all, B2 Chiang Rai Hotel is highly recommended!

De Hug Hotel and Residence at 053-711-789 is a great little hotel away from the center of the city, but within easy walking to many nice restaurants at a good price. We drove and it is a short drive to the city center - tuk-tuks are available. This is our go-to hotel whenever the city hotels are full. This is a 3-star hotel with 4 star pride. The free buffet breakfast has ample food and a good assortment and is one of the few places that makes sure the food is hot and fresh! There are only Thai TV channels, but the WiFi is good.

great staff. ladies at check were nice. they gave us a glass of juice. good assistance with our luggage. room came with robes, slippers, and cookies. our room had a sunken tub. very nice. the shower was the best we have had in thailand. the room had nice details that just made it special. they have a free shuttle to night bazaar. hotel is a short walk to central plaza. clean. quiet. we are planning to return and stay longer. a/c good and quiet. internet connection very good and fast. good breakfast.

Was immediately impressed by the size of the suite. It's double the size of most hotel executive suites I have stayed in. That said, the layout was a bit strange. Upon entering you are in the area that functions as a changing room, storage room and wash basin area. The three doors that lead off this area are; the toilet, the huge bathroom containing a shower head and big vat of water for mandi showers; plus the bedroom. So, if you've understood me then you have realised that the wash basin, the toilet and the shower are in three completely different rooms! The bathroom is really wasted as it's massive but there's only a shower in there. The bedroom was also large with a front verandah and a large terrace to the side. Great for relaxing and chilling out and didnt have any problems with mosquitoes. The kingsize 4 poster bed is prominent in the centre of the room. I prefer my bed to the side against a wall but it's no biggie. Was slightly disappointed with the TV. It was not very big and placed in the corner of the room so not as comfortable when viewing from the bed. One negative point was that wifi is not included in the room rate. You need to pay extra for login cards that give you a certain number of minutes. This seemed strange to me given the quality of the hotel and the price. It would not have hurt them to simply include it. The hotel is also a little tricky to find. There are some signposts but quite often you will get lost if driving yourself.

I've spent 3 weeks in Chiang Rai. I find this place to be the best balance between, location, value, and amenities. It's a 2 minute walk from your hotel room to the Saturday walking street market or the Clock Tower. It's about 4 minutes to Midnight Fried Chicken which is the best fried chicken I've ever had. The staff is great and the beds are comfortable (which is huge for me). The only downside is that their dryers don't work. If you're looking for a really cute boutique hotel, I'd suggest finding a place south of the Clock Tower on Jetyod Road, otherwise, I'd highly suggest this spot!

We stayed two nights in this hotel. The staff was from the first until the last moment very very nice. The breakfast was very good, organized in the restaurant right close to the hotel. We saw that there was a pool, but haven't tried it, although it seemed to be very lovely. The best for us was the location of the hotel, it is very close to the bus terminal and also to plenty of other points of interest in the city, we walked everywhere.

I was at this hotel two years ago and left with the impression that the rooms needed an upgrade. Upgrade the rooms they did! New flooring, new bed, new TV, new electrical, all new bathrooms. The room I stayed in on the 4th floor ("Deluxe Room") was very nice and very comfortable, so comfortable I didn't want to leave. Only criticism is that the wifi was terrible. Free breakfast was good, not great. Staff all performed with professionalism. Location is excellent, walking distance to restaurants, bars, night bazaar, and bus depot. I will absolutely return.

Fantastic Hotel - best in Chiang Rai - small enough to provide peronalised service and yet has all the facilities needed. Fantastic attentive staff - evertyone from cleaners to table waiters excellent. I have been in many hotels in many cities all around the world (usually business) and clearly this is a well managed Hotel with very well trained staff (and they are happy too which makes a difference). This is Chiang Rai so there is no Hyatt/Marriott but this was a very pleasant surpise. Plenty of off-street parking and good location - walking distance to King Mengrai monument and several great Wats.

This is a very good value hotel and wood recommend to all we were in chang rai for 7 days 4 days in the city and 3 days down the road near Mae Fah luang university as my wife was doing a 3 days work on a world health program im well traveled and have stayed in many types of hotels world wide so this is a good all round hotel and value we stayed in a vip room and was a good room every thing in there that you wood need for all types of people was clean and one of the best beds and pillers iv ever slept on really good the pool is big clean and great for a work out of to relax round again the is a big jim if you are in to that and the every thing in there the place is a little out of town but I like that as nice and quite peace full but easy to walk in 15is mins to main area and action if need it and plenty of places to eat on the way withing 5 mins walking distance but we had a moped for a week as was see in the sites and temples etc and area the only thing I wood say is not that if worred me as I love thai food and wife is thai but the not a massive western food amont but apart from that its a amazing great all round place to stay and I will stop here next time I'm in chang rai and recommend to all Kind Regards j spence.

The place is true to the pictures and I love that it has a really nice and boutique feel to it. The rooms are super new and clean and with all the amenities of a hotel for a fraction of the price (except maybe a lift would be good :)). While it's just a little further from the clock tower (where all the activity is at), the place feels really safe as it is next to a hospital and the area is well lit at night, compared to some other accommodations nearer to the clock tower. There is also a lot of food (also due to the hospital) and a convenience store right outside the B&B. If you're driving around in Chiang Rai like I did, the place has its own parking lot which means no worries about finding parking when you get back! Would 100% stay again at this place and I really recommend anyone staying in Chiang Rai to stay here.

WE BOOKED 2 NIGHTS AND ENDED UP BY STAYING 2 MORE. THAT SAYS IT ALL SPACIOUS ROOMS, EXCELLENT LOCATION, SUPER WIFI. BEST BED I VE HAD IN THAILAND, NO DOUBT. LACKS A BIT OF PERSONALITY, IT LOOKS VERY COLD AT FIRST, BUT THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING. THE BREAKFAST IS ALSO MORE THAN ACCEPTABLE. STAFF SPEAKS GOOD ENGLISH UNLIKE OTHER COMMENTS FROM PROBABLY SOME PEOPLE WHO TENDS TO FORGET THAT ENGLISH IS NOT THE NATIONAL THAI LANGUAGE. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

A small gym lets you work out. The staff is really caring and anticipate your requests, attending to your needs immediately, being it food deliver or getting organised for sight seeing. Booking through agoda.com can be cheaper than booking at the hotel itself. I did the booking through agoda while I were at the reception! Very recommendable! (I only gave one star less for the cleanliness as there was some cobweb a little bit higher in one corner of the room. I notified the hotel and I am sure it was removed afterwards.)

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Chiang Rai. The hotel was about a 10-15 minute drive from the airport. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The receptionist spoke English and were able to communicate with us for any of our needs during our stay. The hotel has a free shuttle each night to the Night Bazaar which was great! We also rented a scooter from a company that was advertised at the front desk, and the staff at the resort made sure the booking went smoothly for us. They all work very hard! The room was very clean. Nothing fancy or big, however we did not expect that when booking, and it was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We didn’t use the pool, but it did look very nice and well maintained. The free breakfast was great as well. They did have some of the same dishes each day, but there was plenty of food to choose from, and we were quite happy! We would definitely recommend this hotel to people travelling to Chiang Rai :)

We decided to take a short side trip to Chiang Rai before our plans to celebrate Loy Krathong in Chiang Mai and we are so glad that we did! Such a beautiful city full of the friendliest, most accommodating people. Wherever we went, we were greeted with smiles and the people are very genuine and kind and the city is relaxed and has not been taken over by tourists. The location was a little trek away from the main part of town but we had rented a scooter from the lobby and had a great time exploring the city. The hotel is only 3 months old so everything is in working order and clean. Bed is very comfortable and the location is peaceful. The staff at the villa are amazing! My girlfriend left her purse in the lobby with no ID and a lot of money. We didn't realize that it was missing until the end of the day and when we were rushing out to retrace our steps we decided to stop and ask at the front desk and the very kind and friendly manager asked for a description and was so happy to return it to us. We were floored... literally, as my girlfriend had close to $500 in her purse! My apologies for the long review but I just had to share that story as we were so touched. The manager was the best, not just for her honesty but she was extremely personable, spoke great english, and was very helpful! :) We have already decided to come back to Chiang Rai and this is where we will always stay.

I arrived on short notice and was warmly welcomed. Staff even agreed to show me two rooms and check if aircon was working well (very important for me) before I confirmed my Agoda booking. Thanks very much for that! :-) I had a spacious room with queen-size bed, sofa, writing desk and even a kitchenette. I was irritated though that there was just a water kettle and coffee mugs, but no minimal equipment like plates, spoons, forks, microwave. So what is the kitchen for if I cannot eat or warm up food there? I bought food outside at nearby street shops, then asked for plate, soup bowl and cutlery at reception, which I got without any problems. But I would have expected to find that in the kitchen. I cannot say anything about breakfast because am not hungry in the morning and thus I booked without breakfast. The room was tidy, the bathroom small, but functional. I had to get Grab Car/Bike to go downtown for sightseeing, location is not in the city centre as advertised.

Baan Soontree was quiet and great for couples. We had a little private cabin with a king sized bed (even though Agoda only had twins left when we booked, we requested a king and they were able to accommodate!) The staff were fantastic. When a friend from Phuket tried getting in touch with us, they were adamant about making sure we knew and called for us using the hotel cell phone. Another day, they arranged a cheap driving tour for us to the north, half the price of what some of the tours in town cost (that said, our fave tour was a bike tour to the White Temple and waterfall, which we booked in town.) Fitness room was clean and never had anyone in it (couple nice bikes and an elliptical). They provide shampoo, soap, cotton swabs, etc. Only minor downsides were lack of variety in breakfast (though I'd rather eat light and save up for lunch and dinner in town or on the street anyhow!) and that it's about a 15-20 minute walk into town. But the front desk is happy to call you a tuk tuk - they normally cost about 80 baht. Breakfast includes toast/croissants, jam, fresh fruit, cereal/milk, yogurt, fried eggs, mini hot dogs, coffee/juice and a hot dish that rotates every day (i.e. pork fried rice).

This is my first time that I stay here, everything is awesome. Owner is super helpful with kindness and always smile. And lot of knowledge in their area and tip. Room are clean and always kept tidy everyday we back from traveling about . New towels everyday , this is another best part that I very appreciated . Mini breakfast and local dish are provide everyday. That’s enough for you to go out and enjoy your day . Location is close to town, walking street and 5 mins walk to 7/11 convenient store. Local food are around for you to enjoy. If you are looking for the place to stay in Chiangrai, i’m recommend this place and we definitely back here again:)

This an exceptionally nice place: very clean, large bed w/ down comforter and nice pillows, an electric tea kettle, dishware, a microwave, plug-ins, .... lots of amenities-- by far the nicest place I've stayed in for under $20. The patio is peaceful. I could easily live here for a month. The staff doesn't speak any English, but the check-in process is straight forward: fill out guest card. There are many English signs and contact numbers. The staff seemed very business-like, not particularly welcoming, no hello in English or Thai-- but maybe because I don't speak Thai it's a bit intimidating. And I had just come from a trek, so I was dressed very casually.

Chiang Rai is a small little town famous for its Wat Rong Khun and it was the main reason of our stop-over. We chose to stay at Baan Norn Plearn after reading so much of good reviews and we were not disappointed at all! This guesthouse is approximately 20 minutes drive away from the airport (we are not sure if there are other transportation available, so we took a cab at 100 baht - faced a waiting period of more than 15 minutes due to the lack of car) and located in the heart of the town - very near to all other temples and shops. We requested for an attached bathroom (good water pressure..hot shower) and we simply love the guesthouse for its cleanliness and quiet location. We spent most of our travel staying in boutique guesthouse and we found that this one offers an experience most similar to a home! We prepared our breakfast in the morning (raw ingredients are spread out in the kitchen every morning for your cooking pleasure - yup, you'll need to prepare your own and wash the dishes please :)) ) and every morning, the owner would prepare different local dessert for the guests. My favourite was the taro sticky rice. Awesome..really! Wifi and bicycles are available free of charge while motorbike is on rent for 250 baht a day (the owner will be able to arrange that for you). A bike is good enough to explore the entire place - all the way to Wat Rong Khun and Central Plaza (don't trust the locals if they tell you that these are very far..HAHA..you can even take a bicycle there if you are fit...30-40 minutes drive..so probably an hour to cycle?). We took the bus anyways and the bus station too, is quite near to our guesthouse, like 10 min drive (or less).
