I booked this hotel because I wanted to be near the Fountain of Youth during our brief visit since we were pressed for time. It was a safe, pleasant 3 minute walk from the back of the parking lot to the entrance of the heritage site. We stayed in a double queen room #141. The room seemed recently renovated because it was clean and bright. There were a mini-fridge, microwave, flat screen tv and spacious walk-in shower. The bathroom was immaculate. The dressers were old dark wood and had some wood stains, but neat. The only negatives were an old iron and ironing board; be careful of the steam function on the iron or else your clothes will get stained. Otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised about the room. Included breakfast was from 7-9:30am and consisted of warmed croissants, cheese omelets, turkey sausage + potatoes, along with the typical cold breakfast offerings. There were ~7 tables inside but several opted to eat their breakfast out on the veranda in the shade of the famous 600 yr “Old Senator” oak tree. The grounds were beautifully illuminated at night. Villa 1565 is a good hotel for the value.
