Howard Johnson hotel is a nice chain of hotels with high international standard and here in China is same. Nice welcome during check-in, nice and many choise breakfast, Wifi and room are very ligh. Bed comfortable.

Further from town - 4 star service”
It is a bit further out of town than Howard Johnson Plaza (which has much higher rating and is in the centre of Ningbo). Taxi takes about 13 RMB in no traffic and 22 RMB in a bit of traffic (Both with meter). It doesn't have very much food options outside oft he hotel, unless you walk a bit. This is your option if you have business in this part of town and you are booking just few days ahead as this is the cheaper option for last minute. Reception has limited English speaking staff, there is one woman who is your best bet to solve anything. Taxi from Train station should be around 13 RMB with meter, if it's more either the taxi driver is lost and tries to find the way or he's doing it on purpose. It's very clean hotel, services are average though, not for 5 star for sure. Train tickets you can get at the business counter for a fee of 30 RMB each ticket and at my case, they will not give you the actual ticket just a reservation. That means, you have to queue the long line at the train station and get the actual tickets. Not sure why the service charge was for then. When you can book it yourself. Breakfast and spa was the best part of the stay. Spa had steam room and sauna, nice and clean, fresh towels included. Buffet breakfast had anything from Chinese, Japanese, Western buffet. Ask for cheese, they don't display it. You can take your coffee to go as well - nice touch. There is swimming pool and nice spacious gym and aerobic room. Billiard and table tennis is available for 58 RMB extra each - I didn't like the thing that you have everything free and this you have to pay for? Anyway, it's nice hotel, does the job, but definitely not a 5 star.

Superb hotel where no request was too much trouble”
Fantastic - I will absolutely stay at this hotel when I return to Ningbo. The staff are absolutely brilliant and the attention to detail is outstanding. For example when waiting for my colleague to arrive in the reception area a complimentary cup of coffee appeared. In addition the duty manager offered to take me to the railway station if I didn't already have transport arranged - really friendly and helpful people.

Clean, comfort, friendly and money for value”
It was a very pleasent stay for the night except the breakfast. Chk in was fast w/ coupon to spend in the Restaurant. Room charge was not included breakfast. Should have this option during booking. RMB128 for buffet reakfast was not cheap for the kind of food they were serving. Ordered 2 sunny shine up eggs were given away to someone else after 5mins waiting. Waited another 5 mins then served w/eggs (not shunny shine up) but came w/ soya source that I didn't want or asked for. Didn't eat any egg after all. Room in general was nice & clean, comfort w/ well temp control during my staty that cold night. Bath tub took ages to fill up and water was not hot enough that night.

Very poor Wifi Internet in room”
I spent one night in the room, no way to get consistent Wifi connection for the whole evening. I ended up using my 4G mobile phone to connect to my laptop to perform my works online. This is impossible for me to come back to this hotel for business travelling.

Great staff”
Great staff, solid construction structure, cleanliness of the room. Staff were very friendly, always willing to help. Showed knowledge of the area and if not, they try to find out about it and let us know. Was disappointed about the spa package and it wasn't something that was part of the facility. However, next to the hotel, they have the spa and health place where there was spa, sauna, jacuzzi. Great massage and services given by the staff working for them.

i lived in one of the exectutive flootrs. very good at the club. i also used the gym. it was absolutely acceptibal as a hotel gym. i can recomend the chinese restaurant, they hav a good selection of vine. i will use this hotel also nxt time i am in xiamen.

Everything ok”
Check in was quite slow, because only one desk open due to late hour Room nice and clean, swimming pool was closed due to renovation. Breakfast buffet was huge with a lot of Chinese dishes, but missing western cold cuts like sausages and cheese. Would go there again

Good Hotel, but Pool and Gym were out of order”
This was my 2nd stay, and because I stayed 9 days, the swimming pool being closed for a view days was disappointing. All in all I would still recommend it.
