Good Location but lacking service”

Customer service was lacking from the start. When we arrived the porter seemed to notice us and instead of helping with our luggage he ran behind the service counter - almost seemed a deliberate act. Our booking requested a non smoking room, there doesn't seem to be any non smoking room in the hotel as we were offered two different rooms both seemed to be smoking rooms. Also, when we checked out again no offer of help with luggage, also the service desk was not prepared to call us a taxi.

Pros: A good location for Muslim. Plentiful of halal restaurants just walking distance around this area. There is a halal supermarket just one block away. You can buy bread and milk for breakfast. No need to buy breakfast at the hotel. Strongly suggested for Muslim travellers. Will stay here again and armed with a dictionary and some important Mandarin words. Cons: Nobody there can speak English. Be prepared with a dictionary. I ask for an iron and took out a cloth and showed sign of ironing and board, they're just too ignorant. I needed to show the image of an iron.

having been to Shangri-La a couple of times I tried the Ambassador. It's not within walking distance from LoWu border if you arrive by train, but the taxi ride only takes a few minutes and costs RMB 15. Make sure to grab an official cab. Beds, washroom etc all clean, the usual stains on the carpet - but that is a common on over the country. Staff is friendly, some do speak a few words of English. Free Wifi in the room, TV, plugs, a desk. Windows can be opened, great shower. So overall a good place to stay

Close to shops and Muslim halal food. Convenient location. Staffs should be able to communicate more fluently with customers. Most of them don't speak English. Frustrating.

Very nice, comfortable, and convenient. The lobby worked well for our business contacts and the breakfast was good.

Reasonable priced hotel room”

Arrived in the wee hours in the morning, the front desk staff was not able to find my reservation as he was working part time and kept us held up at the lobby for close to 2 hours as he said all the rooms were taken where we had already reserved the hotel rooms via agoda.

their staff is very helpfull even my booking via agoda not appear in their system, they let me check in while waiting my booking via agoda is confirm next day.
