Lovely place!”

A little bit further away from the main area of Ubud but a really nice area in itself! Amazing restaurant across the road called "Indus" overlooking the valley. Our stay was great despite being woken up by a very loud American man on his phone early in the morning. But that could have happened anywhere! Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful holiday retreat ”

A great place to stay for a romantic peaceful holiday. The hotel has a large garden and rainforest surroundings, outside the spacious cottages are paddy fields, water lily pools and lush plants. Staff are friendly, food are tasty. Overall, it's a memorable holiday staying there.

Excellent Value”

we found that many resorts in bali tend to go overboard and end up a bit on the tacky side. this place is very clean and really nicely designed. most importantly, however, it's nicely located and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. this was the best place we stayed in bali and we'd definitely go back. only a few quibbles. wifi is not available in the rooms, and even in the restaurant and lobby (where it's supposed to be free) we found it to be spotty. and the shower was very weak and took forever to get hot. no big deal, but kind of annoying.

Peaceful oasis in Ubud”

We really enjoyed the calm atmosphere at this place. The reception, restaurant and rooms are surrounded by rice fields and water. The rooms were spacious and had an ethnic touch, and the outdoor bathrooms were beautiful. The staff was also very helpful organizing transport and providing recommendations. The only thing we missed was wifi in the rooms. We had a lovely stay at this hotel.

Definitely worth staying here if you like a Balinese cottage ambiance”

My wife and I recently stayed here. Ananda Cottages is very Balinese and the cottage we had included an outdoor bathroom and a lovely veranda overlooking a rice field. Some Cottages had recently been renovated and other in various stages of renovation. The staff are professional and welcoming and the meals in the restaurant were a reasonable standard. The complex has a large number of Cottages or bungalows scattered around a huge well vegetated site. It is very visually pleasing and the pools were well placed with plenty of privacy. We met fellow travellers who continue to return to Ananda and I can easily understand why. Ananda can be described as charming. If you want to experience cottage type accommodation with a reasonable price tag which is well placed to the main attractions in Ubud then Ananda would be worth a try.

Stunning place, quite location, excellent service, but not impeccable ”

The location is perfect for those who want to escape from the crowd and the noises of the city centre. The hotel is located in a beautiful and stunning place fully immersed in a lush greenery and with amazing little brooks. Spectacular natural landscape. There are three pools with a very relaxing view. The cottages are super nice with plenty of space, two small balconies and peace and quiet. I adored it. The staff is very friendly and professional, kind and willing to help. However, every single detail matters when you run such a beautiful and high-level hotel. As soon as I arrived in my room I realised the bed sheets were dirty. I informed the front desk and they immediately sent someone to change the linen, later on I realised the bin in the bathroom had not been emptied before my arrival (but I forgot to flag it to the reception and when I said it upon departure the staff deeply apologised). The spaces were clean but not at a perfect level and for what I paid and how the property is advertised I would expect perfection. Such a shame. I would definitely recommend it though because of the beautiful landscape, structure of the cottage and friendliness of the staff. They also have a spa close by - Bliss Spa - where the treatments are simply amazing and at good prices. The spa sends drivers to pick you up and drop you at the hotel. This spa is a must!

The entire hotel feels like a big garden, although the paddies were dry when we were there, it still looked amazing. The room can do with a bit of upgrades but overall we loved it.

Improvement area is in food. Need more varieties in breakfast and wider variety for lunch and dinner. Same breakfast menu is repeated every day. Further improvements can be done to the room. Some rooms are too small considering this is not a regular hotel, but a resort stay. No entertainment inside the resort, considering Bali a cultural destination.

My room was spacious, very big. The two double doors were awesome. It rained one night and I opened them up to hear the rain. The door and the statues on the porch were such a charming touch. Furthermore, the view was simply majestic from my room. Plus, the WiFi in my room worked great. Only draw back was the bathroom. I picked this spot cause I wanted an outdoor bathroom as seen on the website, but didn’t get one of these rooms. The food at the breakfast buffet was great. The location was close enough to walk to town. There was a mini mart next door. A cash exchange across the street. Many restaurants within walking distance. The 24hr emergency room was even within walking distance (we actually used it, clean, fast, friendly). I would stay here again and recommend it to my closest friends and family.

We chose villa room, and it was perfect option for us - authentic, great view over swimming pool and rice fields. The villa part had their own separate swimming pool for just 8-10 rooms use, so was very peaceful and private. the hotel is just 3-5 minutes ride from downtown. The only thing for our taste the area was too big, walk to reception was already a light exercise

Beautiful and tranquil place to be. Food was decent. Great walk to the padi field in the evenings. Staffs were polite and helpful. Cultural activities and private yoga available if you want to stay in for awhile (: Would return!

Ananda revisited”

I have stayed at Ananda Cottages several times and will do so again. It is a series of “houses” Balinese style some with 4 rooms, some with 2 and some free standing. amid rice terraces of great beauty. I had Villa A, an upstairs unit which was excellent, with a large balcony overlooking beautiful rice terraces and with a swimming pool below my balcony. There are many such pools distributed throughout the complex, which covers around 4 hectares.. The villa was air conditioned and extremely comfortable. An excellent breakfast is included in the tariff. For those who want a true Balinese experience, and not just another 5 star Resort, then this is for you. The management provide a shuttle into Ubud itself on a several times daily basis, but I always prefer to walk the short distance. There is a large supermarket called Bintang which is well stocked with most of what you might need during your stay, and there are ATM’S there should you need cash. The supermarket accepts credit cards.

Beautiful space ”

This was my second stay at Ananda and I am again so grateful to the team for another wonderful stay. The grounds are stunning, the rooms are luxurious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The yoga room is delightful, the pools gorgeous and the dining room a treat. Will come again!

Breathtaking accommodation!!”

My partner and I the most amazing stay at the Ananda Cottages for a friends wedding at a nearby hotel. The bungalow was beautiful as were the amazing staff and the land surrounding the cottages was breathtaking. The staff were extrememly helpful, friendly and bent over backwards to help with whatever you needed, nothing was too much trouble. My partner fell ill the day prior to checking out and was still unwell the day of check out. Instead of a 12pm check out time , the staff arranged a late check out time for us so he could rest up prior to our long flight home. This made an unfortunate situation so much more bearable. Thank you Ananda and staff! We will be back 😊

Perfect place to stay in Ubud”

With a huge garden full of all kinds of green, Ananda is the best place to stay in Ubud. It is close to center, 25 min. walk. The rooms are nice with a great balcony. There are 3 swinmming pool, one is infinity pool. Really a great place for its value.

Ananda, Authentic Bali”

Ananda has maintained the house in the rice field atmosphere by having small rice fields separating units. My room was clean and well maintained with a balcony overlooking a small rice field. Ananda has around 70 rooms/cottages but does not feel crowded. It caters for large groups on occasion, so breakfast and dinner can be busy and noisy depending on the group. Breakfast is excellent.

Its been 3rd time i stayed here.When plan to go Bali,definitely will stay here again.What i like about this place is their own huge garden,paddy field, 3 kind of swimming pool with a different view,good for yoga,and very quiet relaxing your mind and soul.Nearby Naughty Nuri's Restaurant which is famous with their juicy goody pork ribs and of course with the Bintang draught beer.Rent a bike to discover Bali by your own just opposite the Hotel.

Good location not too far away from the main town ”

Pleasant stay. Only stayed 2 nights which gave me time to explore town, do a bit of shopping and check out the monkey forest and temples in the area. I would get back without my son to be able to explore more of the night life, arts and yoga activities.

Lovely Balinese Hotel with Rice Terraces & Ubud”

I love the location of this hotel in Ubud. It is about 1.5km out of the centre but in such a peaceful setting. There are rice fields down the side and out the back. There are 2 yoga studios for those who want to use this as a location for a retreat. The accommodation is simple but very comfortable. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast is delicious. Try the fresh papaya and vegetable omelette which was my special request but no problem for the cook. Across the road are two great eating places: Indus and Elephant Cafe - they won't disappoint.

Perfect location for Ubud Writers' Festival”

If you are attending the annual Ubud Writers & Readers' Festival, this hotel is perfect...it's directly opposite two of the main venues, and Indus restaurant (plus near several other restaurants) & a convenience store). It's a very large villa-style hotel, over two different sites, so if you don't want to have to walk a certain distance to breakfast, don't stay here. However, this can be an advantage if you are right at the back where it is very quiet, overlooking a small pool (there are three) and the rice padis. Very peaceful.
