Bondee house is the best place to stay in Mae Hong Son. The owner is absolutely amazing. He speaks great English, is very informative and he even has his own map where he shows you multiple attractions. The owner really makes this place worthwhile. The rooms are clean, spacious and had everything you need. Great if you are on a budget. Great location as well. Close to night market and easy to get a scooter if you need. Highly recommend! Don't hesitate to stay here.

We have returned to Blue Moon 3 times as we find it exceptional value for money. We are a family of 4 and the rooms we have stayed in have two large double beds. The bedding and pillows are good and the place is super clean and neat. Rooms cleaned every day if you request them to. Small fridge in room plus clean towels every day and tea and coffee/kettle and water in fridge. The owner is really nice and the manager is always available to help out with anything. He called us taxis and gave recommendations too. The area is just back off the main high street. Lots of restaurants and bars, shops in walking distance. We usually just sleep here and then go to the nicer beaches each day and just return for bed. Free motorbikes too although we don’t use those. Such good value getting a super comfy, clean room(much nicer in our opinion to most of the more budget places anywhere on the beach). I’m sure we will be back again!
Simple hotel in the center of the village”
I liked this small hotel. It is located in the central part of the village near the pier (not on the main street, but on a parallel one). I lived in a fairly large and clean room with a modern bathroom. The hotel does not have a territory, but next to the rooms there are small terraces with tables and clothes dryers. Also in front of the entrance there is parking for motorbikes (and this is the main thing on Koh Samed). Within walking distance there are many cafes with nice prices, 2 7Eleven and motorbike rentals. The only drawback I would point out is that the smell of the air freshener is too strong (I couldn't find the source of this smell in the room). If you want to spend a minimum of time in your room and the first line is not important for you, I recommend this hotel.
Fine Place in Town”
A walkable 500m from the main dock in Ko Samet, Blue Moon is very clean and each room has a little patio with a table and places to dry towels and clothes. The reception was also very helpful with things to do - boat trip/bike rentals/etc.
Great hide away ”
Have now stayed with here twice with wife n 8yr old in tow. It's a short walk from the pier, pretty central and tucked away. Staff are friendly and the rooms have both been clean and always cleaned on request. The only downside is (which has nearly made me buy items) the only TV channel is a shopping one. But who stays at Samet to watch the TV anyhow Would definitely recommend
