The location is fantastic with great sea view. Many freebies thrown in like a short cruise, Heritage walk around Fort Kochi etc. Friendly staff - but most importantly fabulous food.

Great Stay”

We stayed at the boatyard for a couple of night. The location is superb, right in the middle of the most beautiful area of Fort Kochi. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and the food was great. Hotel room was spectacular with colonial decor and cleanliness matched only by other 5 stars. In short, we had a great time and would visit again if possible.

Outstanding hotel in prime location in Cochin. Gorgeous rooms with lovely touches like the delightful tea trays and clay pots of creams and soaps. Ridiculously comfortable beds like sleeping on a cloud. Didn’t eat supper there as only there one night and wanted to explore but breakfast was absolutely first class luxury and service. I would definitely stay here again, in fact I would go out if my wat to stay here again.

A rare find this hotel. Loved the colonial feel as well as the eco friendly vibe. Beautiful rooms overlooking the port and delighhtul little touches like the tea tray with all the different pots of local teas and the little pots of shampoo and body wash etc displayed in clay pots leaves the plastic packaged offerings of their competitors in the shade. Breakfast was divine with fabulous service and the same beautiful little touches in presentation and service . I absolutely cannot rate this hotel highly enough.

The CGH group of hotels never cease to impress. I was transformed to another time at this residence. The fit and finish was carefully thought through, and the effort put into sustainability throughout the hotel was amazing. The taste of the filtered rain water was divine! The staff looked after us so much, even making my birthday dinner truly special. They made a cake that followed our dietary requests. If you need to stay in Fort Kochi area, look no further than this hotel. AMAZING.

We arrived with our very fussy six year old who will only eat very plain food, and no dairy ! The staff here were amazing, they constantly asked how things were and what they could do to help her enjoy the food, even sending out the chef at meal times to ask how we would like things prepared. The Fort Kochin area is a calm vibrant small Indian town., with history and art to see. The hotel is right in the heart of this. We watched Dolphins and Peacocks from the lovely safe swimming pool, which most days was empty. The staff at this hotel are truly outstanding. Our room was very clean, and well maintained, we did not book a river view room and our balcony did look out over the row if rubbish bins so this was not somewhere to sit. There were no real negatives here, cooking demos, yoga, board games and plenty of advice if required. The spa was underwhelming, and not something I would personally recommend, but again did not detract from the overall experience.

Lovely hotel, snail-like service ”

The Bunton is a beautiful 'experience' hotel in a wonderful waterfront position. A well located and architecturally lovely sanctuary in Cochin. Rooms are well appointed and clean, and the sea facing variety have a beautiful (if slightly noisy - ear plugs are supplied!) outlook over the lawn, pool, foreshore and port area. The pool itself is also lovely. Our only complaint was the service. Staff were generally very nice and well-meaning (and maybe we just experienced an off day during our short stay) but the service was painfully slow. Approaching an hour for a simple restaurant meal; 50 minutes for a plate of fruit at the pool; and 45 minutes for a small jug of milk to the room (and at least one or two follow up requests needed for each). The hotel assures us our experience wasn't representative but, unfortunately, we can only comment on what we saw for ourselves (several times). We've stayed at Malabar House and would perhaps lean to it based on the service experience.

Perfect location & idyllic setting”

Everything was top quality. The large rooms with everything included to the excellent pool and the free boat trip around the harbour in the evening. The staff were really helpful and friendly The restaurant food was fantastic, especially babu's vypin moilee (seafood chowder) and the cooking lesson really very good fun.
