Ensure you see pictures of the condo. They are all relatively similar in layout, however they vary in view and decor. I.E. For oceanview some units have unobstructed views while others have a lot of vegetation blocking 1/2 the view. Also, one kitchen may have 1970’s tile countertops while another one has been renovated with granite. If you aren’t particular, no problem, as entire property shares the same beach (with a cabana that was towels/boogie boards/surfboards/etc.). There are numerous restaurants in walking distance at other resorts and a 5 minute car ride for various shopping and local eating establishments (large grocery stores, tourist items, boutiques, art galleries, etc).

The pool facilities were across the street and they kept the water cold in the pool and jacuzzi. We had to call and ask for more toilet paper because we only had one roll in our room and they charge you for towel service each day you need new towels. The kitchen didn’t even have salt and pepper to cook with. It was all just very basic.

The Unit was mostly clean but not the kitchen, especially the dishwasher-strainer (which hasn’t been cleaned for...year?!). We informed the reception and we get a refound of the cleaning-charge.

Outrageous cleaning fee for 1 night stay!”

I love the Kihuana Plantation but won’t stay there again because of the $160 cleaning fee that is in addition to the rental rate. Staff at check in was helpful and found us a unit that was available for early check in, which was very nice.

I have no complaints about the condo, except it would have been nice to have an air conditioner in the unit. Property was nicely landscaped and beach area was lovely and good for snorkeling. Common laundry room was available.

Screens didn’t keep mosquitos out. Rosters crowing all night long. No AC Can’t close windows so you can’t keep noise out. Rosters crowing all night keeps you awake

We liked the location of this property, fairly central. We liked our apartment in building 38, unit 315. The place was not very clean when we arrived. The US $160 fee they charge is high for the level of cleanliness. The dishwasher did not was well either. Other than that, we were happy with our stay.

Great place”

We stayed there 6 nights in Nov 2019. The whole area consists of more than a dozen houses with each approx. 10 condos and is very clean and high-class. Direct beach access, high quality good food, 24h reception, everything vey well-maintained. Pool is not inside the housing complex but separately administrated on the other side of the main street, closes already at 7 pm.. Nearby there are shopping possibilities as well. Depending on where your condo is it takes quite some time to go there. Our condo was on the outer side of the complex, near by the main street. We had to use ear protection in order to keep sleeping in the morning when the street gets busy. Condo itself was in a good condition, fans, big balcony, no A/C. Daily house keeping can be booked separately but it not mandatory. We did not book it. Final cleaning costs are 160 USD (!!) for a stay for up to 9 days. In general clearly a recommendation, but rather expensive.

Annoying facility Issues that interfered with my valuable vacation time”

Pros - decent location, full kitchen and deck. Cons - tv setup; we had to call tech for help getting the tv to work. Breadfruit (I think) fell out of the tree in front on the complex on a daily basis. The fruit was cleaned up daily but made big messes on the sidewalk. We had a plumbing issue from the (loud) people in the condo above us. The plumbing issue was handled professionally, but we had to wait for the plumber to get there which damaged our plans. Went to the beach and when we came back to the room our key wouldn’t work. The battery on the door lock had died and was fixed promptly, but it was another annoying waste of precious vacation time.

Very poor reception customer service. Rooms old, hot & bathroom desperately needing an upgrade. Asked to be moved and after a lengthy battle with reception, being misquoted USD70 per night we finally arrived at our room some 2 hours later. Not a great first impression. We were not the only disgruntled guests.

Rooms in need of repair/ refurbishment . Way overpriced. Excessive cleaning fee. Minimum 2 night, we only needed one night. Lovely gardens. Great location.

Overprice and you must pay 180 usd for a check out cleanning fee. An absolutely scam. I do not recommend it you can price less in any other hotel with more amenities

Don't! I repeat, DON'T! (hope the ! will get to you) rent this place during summer time (units with no A/C). There is no a/c, which we knew, but with Kauai's 90+F temperature, the unit we stayed at - 238 - was a torture. It's super hot, despite the fact that we opened up everything to get the wind draft going (there's NONE!), and with 6 fans going on, the unit is actually hotter than the parking lot outside. Notice that this is 2nd of the 3 story building. Poipu Shopping Village (a pretty dead mall now) is close, and so is on-site restaurant (no discount), but you can smell the smoke from all the eateries around, and that's bad with the heat problem. Laundry is far away (we need to drive, or walk 10 minutes up/down a slope in 90+F weather), and is located close to Castle's front desk. Athletic club is far too from our unit (10 min/foot). Driving to Poipu Beach is about 5 minutes from 238 (walk about 20 min)...we were hoping to walk to the beach :( DON'T rent in summer!
