Brilliant location for our visit to Kìelder Area ,friendly staff, good rooms, breakfast is really lovely. Our 2nd time visiting and would stay again.

A hidden gem in the heart of Northumberland”

We stayed three nights in a family room. The place was spotless clean and welcoming with tea/coffee/ water bottles and biscuits. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Being an old building, it looks a little tired and could do with a bit of a "facelift" - even a coat of paint would help. We had problems connecting to the Wi-Fi, despite the hotel has two networks (a 4G and a 5G apparently). Other than that, our stay was perfect. The location is great, the village of Bellingham is very pretty and there are lost of lovely walks around, and of course, Kielder Forest is not far. An added bonus is the restaurant. The breakfast was huge and the evening meals (if you decide to eat in) are very good and affordable. We would definitely recommend it and look forward to visiting again!

arrived later than expected (as usual - those hills are very undulating). quickly shown to rooms and secure cycle storage. ordered food as the kitchen was ready to close , quick shower , food ready on return down to bar, amazing food. lovely rooms and the sheep were a lovely added touch !! 5 star breakfast from ann , hotel hallway is having a bit of a makeover at the minute but that didnt affect our stay. bellingham is lovely and has every shop you could think of - including a coop opposite the pub. great location,great food,great pub - real ale on draft too !!

Anne and i think his name was david anne was a laugh,loved her down to earth funny and just fun,loved the hotel,only down side the duck didnt work but i can overlook that,best breakfast i have had anywhere,david your a excellent chef,anne i loved being around you,your a funny lady dont change your a donny lass afterall,ps put your socks on for your mum,see you again cant wait xc

Beautifully clean and large accommodation with good amenities. Huge comfortable bed! Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Lovely Weekend Break in Bellingham”

This was the second time that my fiancée and I had stayed at the Cheviot - the first was two years ago (in pre-Covid times). I’m pleased to say that the standard of the facilities, cleanliness, food & drink and customer service were just as high - if not higher - than they were for our first stay. Factor in the brilliant location in the heart of Northumberland and the excellent value for money and it’s a winning combination. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for easy access to the Kielder Forest Observatory (25 min drive). Our room was clean, tidy and homely. Really comfy bed, well stocked hospitality tray. Staff were first class, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast in the morning was superb and plentiful.

Good pub bit noisy on a Sunday part of the village ‘crawl’ but that’s fine Food good plenty of it and good quality Rooms across road but great bed shower and size Ps breakfast outstanding

Charming staff. Comfy room and excellent bathroom fittings but grouting somewhat tired and lots of mildew. Evening meal of steak was excellent, well priced and a good value bottle of malbec. All drinks were reasonably priced. The full English breakfast was huge, well cooked and served by our hostess who was charming. The hotel does not have a car park but there is plenty of on street parking

We stayed in the annexe which was clean, comfortable and quiet.. The breakfasts were very good and the location was excellent for visiting Kielder.

Two day break at the Cheviot”

The room was really lovely, clean, had everything and more. Staff at the hotel extremely helpful and friendly. Meals out of this world, breakfast delightful to get up to. Highly recommended hotel.

Busy local bar, noisy at weekend but friendly. Good restaurant and good food. Excellent breakfasts and room comfortable with amenities very good. I’ve not come across a Nespresso machine in any 4star hotels I’ve been in!! Would go back
