Perfect for a weekend getaway”

Beautiful historic building, spacious, clean, and in the old town, this is a great base to explore Avignon for a couple of days. The breakfast is good and many options from the buffet, would stay here again.

Superior Rooms !”

Firstly, thank you to the front desk staff for their very polite and professional manner. The superior room which we booked was not too good. A complete wing has been built in steel. Imagine four floors of forty foot metal containers and this is not far from what it actually felt like. The interior has been badly planned. Plumbing and electrical contractors must have been the lowest bidders, I’m guessing. Add to this a wafting smell of bad smells of who-knows- what and there you have it. The front desk staff were very accommodating and the second night was spent in the old wing and this was much better. A little run down, however. Room safe was broken as was the entrance door deadlock. The breakfast buffet looked very average so we ate outside. Very secure parking was fortunately available in a pot holed area at the back costing €15 per night.

Hotel with Good location, very close to train station and city centre”

Interesting hotel with history. Stayed at modern wing. Room can be improved - paint the furniture at the entrance of the room near open wardrobe. Reception should be improved to reflect 4 star hotel. Counter staff very friendly, a gentleman helped me to make a toll free call to cancel my hotel reservation. Train strike disrupted my travel plan . Had dinner at the hotel too and enjoyed it with a friendly staff serving us . Thanks to the staff who make our stay enjoyable.

Strange Room”

The staff and lobby were good. But the room was very disappointing, regarding it's a 4-star hotel. What we got for a "superior" room was a "container house" in an attached building, which was far from a 4-star room. I guess the room beyond "superior" would be a true hotel room in its main building which used to be a cloister building. Besides this the room cleanness and staff were okay.

Modern stylish rooms in historic building ”

A special accommodation central located, stylish rooms in historic monastery. Pool on roof. and free parking. Our room in ground floor had a bit of odor probably due to the old walls of the building - but no Problem for us. The pool area is very nice, but a bit neglected... Still recommend stay ie if you get a last minute special deal. Note that rooms only fit family of three.

Lovely historic hotel”

Very clean, large rooms with high ceilings, delicious breakfast and very friendly staff. Our room needed some plastering work, and the bathroom smelt a little in the morning but I think this was a common problem across Avignon. Would definitely recommend

Beautiful location...”

As rail travellers this hotel was very convenient... but one big problem, check-in is not until 4pm! This overcome, we thoroughly enjoyed both our stays in this wonderful building, a former monastery converted to a hotel, with a modern extension. Initially we stayed for a few days in this new section which has a small loggia on all floors and overlooks a shaded garden. The room was large and comfortable... the only downside a lack of sockets for mobile devices and paper cups! On our return we had a larger, simple room in the original, old building which has a grand corridor and the accommodation overlooks a courtyard with plane trees, the cloister... but still no sockets or proper cups! There is also a delightful open-air pool on the roof which is accessible during summer months. Breakfast and dinner were both good. We would recommend this hotel.

A gem - a beautiful hotel, great staff & top location”

This is a marvellous hotel - magical setting in lovely courtyard and shaded courtyard garden to eat in, minutes from train station and walking distance to all of Avignon sites, staff were especially friendly and helpful and roof top pool to cool off in - I thoroughly recommend it

Not a 4 star hotel, more 2 stars”

Beautiful old cloistre, an oasis in the hectic city of Avignon. Nice large room with high ceiling in the old building. Good to have a pool at the rooftop. However the sum is far below par for a expensive so called 4star fascility. Firstly, we were given the wrong type of room and must correct this ourselves. Secondly, many of the employees are unmotivated providing 4* service. As if they are all given their notice. For example: tried to get a coffee at 10 pm, by using the coffee machine. An employee remarked in French that this is only allowed for breakfast, so we asked her for a coffee by the bar, but she replied this is not possible after 10 pm. So no coffee for the guests after ten. Thirtly, the hotel looks very tired, seems no serious maintenance is done after its inauguration in the 90's. Lots of cheap furniture, sunlight-faded art prints, an unlocked swimming stair, stripped paintwork etc. This place can be a germ, but in present condition it's teardropping to watch its decay.

Good location as located in d/t area. Lots of restaurants n shops. Need to improve is air conditioning. It was not cold that made me couldnt sleep well.

Not functioning ”

Shower room is too small and many things are not functioning in the room. Aircon is super noisy. However location is good and room is big enough for two persons.

Excellent location, dissappointing room”

Great location, amazing architecture of the old monastery, wonderful reception stuff. Expected to stay in one of the rooms overlooking the beautiful courtyard, but have been allocated a room in the modern wing. The room was large, simply furnished but comfortable. Bathroom quite disappointing - the smallest bathroom we have ever seen in any of the hotels we have stayed in the past. The bar was closed, there was no lounge or a comfortable room to relax in the afternoon. 4 p.m. check-in time quite late.

The hotel is perfectly positioned - easy to drive to and park whilst a few minutes walk to the old town and the sites Clean and efficient with very kind staff. We stayed in the old part of the hotel, quirky rooms whilst working perfectly - charming Wonder why they don't make more use of the huge shady courtyard Will return Loved it

A hotel conveniently located in the city”

Very happy with the location of the hotel which is centrally located. Most of the tourist and historic sites are within walking distance. Good and reasonably priced restaurants and shops are all within a 10 minutes walk. The Tuesday morning market is worth a visit for those looking for local products. Convenient car park facilities are available.
