This hotel is old, basic and doesn't feel like a Hilton, but a clean and safe room with a hot shower was all I needed. Plus point is its good location being in between two Central line underground stations, Shepherd's Bush and Holland Park, which makes it easily accessible from Heathrow using the Elizabeth Line and then switch to Central line. But what's best are the two bus stops at its doorstep with bus 94 that runs 24h and takes you to/from Notting Hill, Oxford St and Piccadilly Circus; and bus 31 that takes you to Camden Market area. Toiletries are from Crabtree & Evelyn and bathroom fittings are from Grohe, and they provide canned sparkling and still water. Pls provide bedroom slippers, though. And the paper laundry bag is a bad idea..

Not too bad for the price”
Having just arrived from Hilton London Bankside I was expecting more or less the same standards at Kensington. However, while Bankside was more modern Kensington was what one might call quaintly old-fashioned. The location of the hotel, while technically Kensington, was nearer Shepherds Bush (one stop away from the tube station). The room was alright enough - I preferred the modern power shower of Bankside and its packed complimentary mini-bar. Kensington's shower was in a bathtub and less than powerful. I had absolutely no idea how to work the heater / air-conditioning and during my second day there housekeeping did not clean my room. Concierge was very friendly. Reception was so-so. Housekeeping barely said 2 words to me as I passed them and said hello. The plus side was the location of the bus stops right in front of the hotel which had 1 bus service going straight to Piccadilly Circus and another service to Camden Town. It was also right next to Shepherd's Bush tube station (Central Line) where there were several halal eateries including a fantastic kebab / curry / burger takeaway (and, yes, my half-pounder with cheese was absolutely delicious). They also had a halal taco bell!!! And a shopping mall next to the tube station. Overall not the high-class experience that I expected (especially with the name "Kensington" attached to it) but still pretty good value for money.

Housekeeping staff servicing the rooms are not properly trained . They were very inconsistent, indifferent & untidy in the way they serviced the rooms daily!!! Fresh towels were not provided as expected! Rooms were not properly cleaned daily as expected to the Hilton standards. On three occasions there were mysterious blood stains found on the bed linens, towels and shower curtain when we returned to our room in the evening! On three occasions we found long hairs & dust encrusted in the bath towels which were supposed to be provided daily fresh & clean by the housekeeping service staff! This was unacceptable for a hotel of Hilton standards!!! Hand soap & bath soap containers and tissue box were not refilled daily! We ended up buying our own bath & hand soap and boxes of tissue fr our daily use for the duration of our stay at this hotel! In our opinion the housekeeping service staff at this hotel needs to be properly trained to keeping up proper hygienic cleaning standards which one would expect from a top branded hotel group like the HILTON! The furniture at this hotel definitely needs to be revamped…. dining chairs in restaurant were very uncomfortable to sit on & upholstery looked old and tired! However on the positive side the management front desk staff/managers were a friendly lot of people as they tried their best to compensate us for the many shortfalls caused daily by the very poor service provided by their housekeeping personell!
