Best in the city!”

Greeted with a smile beginning to the end! Over the years I have stayed here and I try out different types of rooms each time. This time it was the tugu suite for 4 nights then 4 nights in the executive suite. I seen another room today that i will try the next time that the vice president of the country likes to stay in. The food is awesome and from the security to the room attendants to the host at the restaurant they make you feel like family. Streets are safe and never once have I felt uneasy and I come from a military police background and been all over the world. Get out and explore the city and the awesome prices!

Well it has been 5 years since we have made a visit here but the same smiling faces were waiting us and they made us smile with a welcome letter to celebrate our 5 year anniversary! We chose one of the tugu suites this time and as always any minor issues are quickly handled. WE both were tired and chose a massage and it was great! Today we extended our stay for 4 more nights and chose the executive suite which is also a nice stay with a garden type bath area which makes you feel at peace. The food is always so fresh and our room staff Budu is perfect! I know it shows a 3 star maybe because of no swimming pool or other things that I find in my hilton or marriot but when I am here in country I choose the Tugu! You wont be disappointed if you open your arms to the culture and lifestyle around you.

Beautiful historical hotel”

Tugu Blitar is always became our first option for our family trip in Blitar City . We are stay in Tugu suite that in historical building that very old stuff and furniture in that building as well in the room . The staff so friendly and helpful . Food is traditional and typical in restaurant but the taste is very delicious. Definitely we will return again

Great Entrance”

A really enjoyable stay in a hotel full of history. Great staff whom go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. A great entrance to the hotel & accommodation. Nice breakfast & dinners with a good selection. The rooms are nicely furnished in the main part of the hotel. Close to the train station.

My fifth time in Tugu Blitar”

This is my fifth time to stay in Tugu Blitar. Same as past experiences , service , food , staff ......all are prefect . This time I tried for message service , very reasonable price and high standard compare with in Bali , only RP 240000 can have 2 hours service . In the hotel restaurant, Soto Ayam is the must try dish . I will be back on coming February.

This is my third time to stay in Hotel Tugu Blitar . Same as before , the overall standings are really prefect . Nice staffs ( they already remember me , may be I am not a local and I usually stay around more than 7 days each time ) and the foods are very delicious and traditional. Must be back to Hotel Tugu Blitar in the future.

It is the second time to stay in Hotel Tugu Blitar . I stay there 9 days for visiting family in Wlingi . All the staff in Tugu are very nice and polite . Delicious traditional Javanese food in the hotel restaurant with reasonable price . If wanna go to Blitar , Tugu must me the best choice.

Tugu Hotel Blitar must be the best choice for staying in Blitar . I stay in here with my Indonesian girlfriend for 8 days during back home for celebrate Indonesia New Year . The staff in reception staff can speak English and the lady so helpful for my wrong booking . The food in the restaurant so perfect ,traditional Java cuisine the waiter and waitress very polite . Thanks for all .

A true gem”

We only stayed for one night, but enjoyed every moment of it. Beginning with very nice tea time, a superb Christmas dinner, a sumptuous breakfast, the entire experience was just perfect. Having grown up Peranakan, the food was especially close to my palate.

My family when away from USA.”

The Tugu has become a place for us each time we come to visit family in the area. I know there are some other choices in town but this hotel has always welcomed us with open arms and exceeded my expectations. The price is excellent and considering you get a great breakfast with the room makes it the best deal ever! There are all ethic groups that stay at this hotel and the security makes you feel safe. I never have had an ugly word toward me as an American when i go out to the city to shop and adventure around. The rating for this hotel is only a 3 but they give you 5 star service. The massages are great and very inexpensive. The manager will go out of her way to make sure any issues are resolved. We always enjoy the welcome we receive and the welcome letter makes us smile. Take it from a picky American, you can't go wrong by picking this hotel! WE will be back again and again.

Javanese style "Omotenashi" ”

I stay there for three night. Very nice hotel with Javanese treatise. But no taxi available in the city, so you must ask taxi to htel stuff. Very pleasant stay”

We enjoyed this hotel. Our children would have enjoyed it a bit more if they had a swimming pool. The hotel probably needs a bit of an update. It seemed the mattress was a bit old and not as comfortable as we expected at a Tugu hotel. The bathroom was also a bit dated. The hotel is a good choice if you are traveling in or through Blitar. We walked on the street outside and explored the town square (aloon-aloom) and some of the nearby stores. It's a good location to drive to the southern coastal beach (Tambakrejo) which is an hour away. We enjoyed the afternoon tea. The traditional Javanese snacks were very good. The food in the dining room is also very delicious and well prepared. We did notice a lot of mosquitos here (the lobby, dinning room and the rooms). They probably could do a bit more to reduce the mosquito problem at the hotel. Overall a very good hotel. Not as great as the other Tugu properties around Indonesia but a great choice if you'll be staying in Blitar.

Relaxing and Pleasureable”

As like the other times, very relaxing and made to feel like a family and not a stranger. The staff was always smiling from the old man gardener which lives on the property to each of the young room attendants that go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to the special greetings from the restaurant each day. I have never seen a frown and never had any negative attitude. I know the choices in this city is limited for hotels but this hotel deserves all the high remarks that I continue to give it. Where else can you get breakfast for 2 and a nice room for less than you pay for a breakfast for two in the United States. Agoda has been my booking choice now for years and prefer to use them for all my hotel needs!

Pleasureable and Relaxing”

As I rated 6 months ago this hotel exceeds my expectations for the price. Although this time it didn't have the new experience as the first time I recognized the staff and they me. They treated me and my wife with respect and offered us help when we needed it. We did stay in the executive suite this time and enjoyed the very hot water and large bath tub area with the garden next to it. We did not receive the nightly knock on the door as before with offering of tea and pastries but the staff was quick to bring anything we needed. the tv cable was not very good but I took it on myself to cut the cable cord and piece it back together for a much clearer picture. A few faces were missing from the management area that was there before but on a scale from 1 to 5 i must still give them a solid 5 with and A. If i had gotten the king treatment like before, lol, it would had been an A+. But of the hotel choices in Blitar, it is for sure the choice hotel. Yesterday the government from Jakarta had two buses checking in so it tells you also its the hotel to choose. As there is not a taxi service in Blitar the hotel does have a car with driver that you can arrange to rent. With my wife being a local we rented a motorbike from one of the workers and went to the water park and to visit her family in a nearby city. Ask the front desk for a map. Have fun, its safe, ps. a doctors clinic, take sidewalk in front of hotel, go left, then your first left, its just right there. I got two shots and medicine, about 40usd from the doctor. if you need more urgent treatment than walk-in clinic go to the local hospital.

Very Special Hotel”

I have stayed at many 5 star hotels to include a recent stay at a 5 star in hong kong. This hotel Tugu showed us the upmost attention and respect from the time I opened my car door to the time we are departing. Weather we were having dinner at the great restaurant or needing our room clean, the staff was ready and exceeding our expectations. I seen the room where the President of Indonesia stayed. I will stay again and again at this hotel if my travel permits. We thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Home away from home. ”

My fiancé’s family are from Blitar so this is where I stay every time. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I always get a massage or 2 from the Spa. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Iconic vintage but lack of facilities kind of hotel”

Consider this is a*3 hotel: Need to be completed, in-room facilities, lighting, tissue for deluxe room(?) Need to be improved, maintenance, toilet. Otherwise, this is not more than common transit budget but pricey hotel
