Perfect place to stay”
Welcome to the jungle! Even if you are in Haad Rin and so close from the beach and all the rumble, you can enter the jungle and enjoy the quiet peace of nature. Lovely Marissa will take the best care of you, whether you have a bad digestion or when you want to know the good stuff of the island! You can also train with a master of Muay Thai or enjoy a nice pool and a (almost private) beach...
Exceptional Hotel & Fitness Center”
The thing that sets this property above and beyond the other options in Koh Phangnan is something greater than what they already attain 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 in (value, cleanliness, location, comfort, professionalism). What makes Jungle Gym the diamond in the rough, is the owner and property staff (including the on site dog) who hasn't forgotten the importance of public relations and customer service while hosting guests. You will feel anything but an ordinary tourist on this property with each staff spending the time to be personable, give recommendations, give local advice and create relationships to set you at ease and comfort during your stay on the island. I chose this property because of on site Muai Thai gym and Fitness Facilities as exercise is important to me; but was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the rooms, the easy going lounge area with couches, hammocks, games and a generous spread of water, bug spray, coffee and other little touches which really just add to how lovely this property is. The AC works well in the private room, and hot water / shower was working great. You are a 5 min walk from the Raad Pier and Beach; but enough off of the main "strip" that you will sleep soundly with no loud music keeping you up all night. The gym is fully stacked with equipment for everyone. This is a real old school and gritty iron house for those who don't mind getting down and dirty for a good pump and appreciate traditional body building equipment. The Muai Thai gym has hanging bags, training ring and loads of training equipment + a Muai Thai Trainer on site for private lessons. On an island that flips thousands of tourists weekly; it's the little things that count and will keep me coming back for more. I will definatly be back and staying much longer next time. Don't hesitate to book here!
Hostel with gym and good vibes”
I stayed here for a week as a solo traveler. I liked it cause I met many cool people. The owner made sure we have everything we need. It's an overall good experience. You can use the pool from the resort downstairs as well as the gym for free.
Unclean and misleading ”
Stayed here for 3 nights in a full 4 bed dorm and not once was the room or bathroom cleaned or swept. The bathroom stunk by the end as the bin was close to over flowing and the bin in the room was spilling out on to the floor. Trapped a cockroach under a cup in the bathroom on day 2 and it was still there when I checked out. Sand and dirt all over the bedroom floor which I had to sweep with my flip flop myself to one side. The description of the hostel is misleading as it states you can enjoy meals at the onsite restaurant? There is no such thing! It also states theres a pool and pool bar/cafe which is not true as the pool is attached to a different resort and the bar/cafe was closed 2 out of the 3 days and only sold cans for a few hours on the day of the full moon. Despite being advertised as having a fitness centre as part of the hostel it was not made clear you had to pay to use the ‘gym’ even as a paying guest which wasnt worth it as the equipment was dangerously old! Disappointing

I stayed here for 3 nights. Our room was not cleaned and bins were not emptied once during this time. It was a full dorm and the bins were over flowing in both our room and the bathroom. The advert for this hostel is VERY misleading - also the reviews. The pool in the picture is in fact attached to a different resort in which it states there is a bar and restaurant - which was closed 2/3 days I was there and only sold a small selection of drinks and even smaller food menu. This is advertised an all year round pool and fitness centre. On my second day I wanted to use the gym. I understood I had to pay to rent a towel but what was not advertised was that you could use this fitness centre at an extra cost even for paying guests, which was not worth the money as half the equipment did not work! There are a lot of rules to stay in the hostel and despite it already being unclean - your not allowed full moon paint in the room and have to bring your own linen down on check out! Disappointed!
