Stayed 4nights. Service was above average, they try their best, i will elaborate more and not nitpick too much. Room is spacious for 2, clean and the bed was really comfortable! They offer turn down service every night as well. Lagoon pool is clean and quiet. Buffet breakfast spread has a great variety and quality, more than some other big branded hotels. Spa was great! Very professional masseurs they have. Downside is : Upon check in i didn’t leave a deposit. Ordered room service, charge to the room. Thereafter went for a swim n shower. While in the pool n shower, my phone rang several times, once i climbed out of the pool to answer but the other party hung up. N the phone went ringing more when i was showering. I had to come out to answer. It turns out that I can’t charge my room service to the room as I didn’t leave a deposit. The staff said its ok he can come the room NOW so i can pay. I wasn’t dressed at that time and of course wasn’t happy that a man wanted to come to my room and over 30 dollars, they called like 5-6 times to disturb my stay. After i got dressed i imm went to reception to put a deposit and feedback what happened. Also breakfast can get a bit busy, staff are not well trained to handle peak periods. The coffee i ordered was served to someone else and when asked, the staff went to retrieve the wrongly served coffee and serve it back to me. This is not 5 stars service. If it’s wrongly served to someone else, leave it, why would u take it back and still serve it to me? Anyway i didn’t want to kick a fuss, i accepted the coffee and drank it. But consider this being done to you, will you drink the coffee? Then on another occasion, the coffee they served me was in a cup stained with coffee marks on the cup. I had to ask them again if the cup of coffee is freshly brewed and questioned them about the coffee stains on the cup. Nobody apologised. They just later served me the coffee in a clean cup. On the same morning, the omelette they served me was sour as either the capsicum or onions has turned bad. They changed it for me and was apologetic for this. What i m trying to say here is… service comes from the heart and requires attention to details. The recipient will be able to feel if the service is just going through the motion or really from the heart. I can tell the staff are trying their very best to deliver the service that will match the branding of Maya, however they are still lacking. Have to work alot harder so that service and brand value is on par. Overall i will say it was enjoyable to stay in Maya, but still plenty of room for improvements.

Staff were excellent. Hotel, although clean, feels old. I experienced three strikes (red flags) within an hour of checking in. There was no coming back after that. 1. Requested a king size bed for my wife and I but were given double beds. I can understand unavailability but at least let us know but we get to the room. 2. Hammer banging on tiles in the room upstairs felt extremely annoying. We were told that they are doing repairs and will last for another 3 hours (until 5pm). After a long road trip from the north we wanted but were not able to relax and there was nothing we could do about it. I seriously thought of just leaving and checking in next door at the Hyatt which was actually cheaper. Simply unacceptable. 3. Decided to leave the room until they stop their repairs. Our reservations included free bike rentals but they were not available and there is no possibility of reserving your bike. It’s a totally unreasonable set up. If you decide that you want a few hours cycling on the beautiful path along the beach the next day, it will all depend if you’re lucky to find a bike. Just doesn’t make any sense. We were planning to cycle around the beach but we could not do it. There are some other smaller details where there is room for improvement but no point of saying more. Facilities, restaurants, gym, yoga were fabulous. Being right on the beach when staying in Bali is a must for us. Unfortunately there were not many beach restaurants near us it was a bit of a walk. Other hotels to the Nth & Sth of Maya had far more options. The hotel is modern & long & doesn’t allow much light into the rooms. It not our style as we prefer traditional architecture. However rooms were perfectly appointed, fresh fruit, coffee machine & the bathrooms had his & her basins which I loved. Housekeeping came early & our room were cleaned by breakfast but often forgot items each day. There is nothing wrong with this hotel & I’ve given it 5 stars but we won’t stay there again it’s not for us. There is nothing wrong

We stayed in a “ Impressive Lagoon Suite with Pool Access”. The room was indeed impressive, very spacious and a beautiful bathroom (the bath tub was way too big and took 45 minutes to fill). The access onto the lagoon was great, however you have little privacy and are subject to the noise of your neighbours, particularly if they spend a lot of time in the lagoon pool like ours did. Other lagoon pool areas didn’t appear to have that problem, so we may just have been unlucky. The staff were fantastic, always looking to help and seeking feedback. The new butler service was efficient. The buffet breakfast was overwhelming in terms of options. From healthy to sweet, fresh juices and coffees to order there was no shortage of choice. I would rate the food quality though, a 7/10. Similarly the Japanese restaurant, where the flavours were outstanding but the quality of the food eg the sashimi grade, was not first class. Overall, we enjoyed our stay - the welcoming staff and overall facility outweighed any negatives. For those thinking of Sanur as an option, the beach, while white sand, is fairly shallow even when the tide is out. The sea water is flat as expected and crystal clear - however without going out on an excursion there is nothing to see when snorkelling outside the resort and a lot of sea grass to wade through. We enjoyed Sanur, the shops, very cheap food and drink available and the clean beaches, now that I have been I would not rush back.

Attentive staff. Included afternoon tea with a few interesting local drinks and snacks. Interesting roof top. Great location in Sanur with lots of surrounding eateries. Right on the beach. We had a room change during our stay and they were able to move us directly from one room to the next. Local musicians playing in the foyer at times, though it always seemed to be later in the day when there are no guests in the foyer and not when lots of people are checking in. We stayed in a pool front room which faced the family pool which was a small pool not used by many people. The sound proofing was terrible. We had the TV on fairly low and the neighbours came and told us to turn it down. I could also hear them talking at very normal volumes next door due to the rooms being connected. The hotel had the family pool and kids pool which were both quite small. The lagoon pool was mainly for the lagoon room guests, and while long, the lagoon was really a narrow strip. Hence most guests were crowded in the main pool by the beach. We also stayed in a garden room which I preferred. The garden view was beautiful and it was nice and private being on a higher floor. The room next door was under renovation and unoccupied so we could actually watch TV and talk normally without worrying about bothering other people. There was a fruit platter with snake fruits but the fruits were dried inside and probably haven't been replaced for a while. There weren't many chairs available on the beach. We tried the spa. The spa area was beautiful. the treatment was fine. I did get quite a few mosquito bites during the treatment as I could not apply repellant due to the treatment.

Wonderful! excellent service, exceptionally clean rooms. Staff were polite, professional and happy to assist when required. Good choice of food - restaurants (my favourite Rue) and room service is also available. The day spa is definately worth a visit! Perfect massage after flight. I’m glad that your trip to Bali started in Maya Sanur. I think it’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever been, and I traveled a lot. The warmth and kindness of personnel, the attention that every customer gets it’s just amazing. We travelled with two small kids, and they had an amazing time in the club every morning. However we had to accompany them, but the aunties of the club were very sweet and caring. It would be great if the club would be open until at least early dinner, but it closes at 1 pm. Food in the restaurant was delicious, excellent breakfast will all you wish and beyond. Pool area not so big, but it didn’t feel too crowded. Me and my daughter took a cooking class from the hotel chef and we had lots of fun and were happy to be in the company of this wonderful people and learned few local dishes. We also loved the vibes of Sanur and the area itself is very cosy, with many good restaurants outside, promenade along the sea and beautiful views. I would love to return back and will definitely stay in Maya Sanur again.

Maya Sanur Resort & Spa is a fabulous hotel choice, located right on the beach in the heart of Sanur Bali. The moment you enter this hotel you are greeted by super friendly staff. The long pool lagoon is a big highlight and breathtaking to see. We stayed in the king Impressive pool lagoon suite with direct pool access. The room is exceptional, so spacious, quiet and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was huge with a round bathtub and nice smelling soap products. The lagoon pool is excellent directly accessed from the room. They also have 2 other pools, one facing the beach and adjacent to the tree bar. The restaurant is also excellent with indoor and outdoor dining options. The hotel has direct beach access for some sun bathing on the lounges or a casual walk to many other bars and restaurants. The front of the hotel has direct access to the main road where you will find many cafes bars and restaurants to choose. There are also some good massage options across the road, we tried the one across the street which was excellent. Overall Maya Sanur Resort & Spa gets a big 5 stars from us and we will definitely be back!

I had a very disappointing experience at Maya Sanur during our stay. On the day of checkout, my young son was extremely unwell and unable to walk. Checkout time was 12:00 pm. At around 12:10 pm, I went to reception and politely requested a short extension until 1:00 pm (around 45 minutes) so I could arrange transport, given my son’s condition. The staff refused and called their supervisor, who also said a late checkout was not possible. When I asked for the reason, I was told the room needed to be cleaned. I explained that the next guest was not arriving until 3:00 pm, so there was sufficient time, and I was only asking for a very small extension due to a medical situation. Despite clearly explaining that my child was sick, there was no flexibility or empathy shown. To highlight the contrast, the very next day we stayed at Andaz Sanur. When staff noticed my son was unwell, they proactively offered a late checkout until 3:00 pm without me even asking. That is the difference between genuine hospitality and rigid, uncaring service. What made the stay even more disappointing is that I paid nearly *** for a lagoon room with a private pool, only to find that the pool water was extremely cold. It was not usable at all, especially with kids. We could not swim or enjoy it. What is the point of paying a premium for a room with a pool if the water is not heated and cannot be used? When I mentioned that I would be writing a review, the supervisor showed no concern. Because of this experience, I would never stay at Maya Sanur again and would not recommend it to families, especially those traveling with children or anyone who expects basic compassion and value for money.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The staff were truly exceptional—so helpful, kind, and welcoming. I can't recommend them enough. The food was excellent, with two lovely restaurants right out front, making breakfast a real treat. The bar restaurant was also great for a relaxing drink. The pool area was wonderful; although more sunbeds would be nice on busy days, it’s still very close to the beach, which adds to the overall relaxation. The beach itself is okay, with a small spot to sit and unwind, which is quite convenient. For families, the Kids Club is a real highlight—friendly staff and a nice setup for younger children, making it perfect for little ones. The rooms were lovely—clean, spacious, and with excellent bathrooms. Overall, a great experience with just a few minor suggestions for improvement.
This was my first hotel and resort experience in Bali (actually first time to take a holiday in Bali, Indonesia, but not my first time travelling to Indonesia). The room I got (with its own lengthy private plung pool and a hidden view the ocean) was simply impeccable. The room itself is quite large, complete with two sofas (one a sofa bed) with a mini-bar, a phone charging dock of its own, and even an oval bathtub which I didn’t use since the plung pool was already more inviting to use throughout the day. Service is very good. Kudos to Rendi and Saras (hope I spelled their names right) who helped out with my requests and room services during my stay. Every staff was efficient and helpful. The food selection is great, and had a taste of Balinese cuisine which is rich and savory (something tastier than even the Indonesian food I get back in Singapore since I’m already there in Bali and got the chance to taste authentic Indonesian food). Overall, flawless hotel and resort. Kudos for the service there!

This is a very fancy resort that proves it’s worth 5 stars. The rooms are very large with a comfortable bed/pillows and high end amenities. The bathroom has double sinks with a huge soaker tub. The resort was huge and right on a beautiful clean beach. Lots of greenery everywhere. If you’re looking for a fancy place to pamper yourself this is an amazing hotel for that.

The Maya is a beautiful 5 star hotel. The room is beautifully and thoughtfully designed with a comfortable massive bed. Excellent air conditioning. The shower gel is divine. Easy walk to breakfast which overlooks the beach. We had a Lagoon Room for our last two nights which was so luxurious. There is a 50 metre long pool out the front of all the rooms on the ground floor so you can go for a decent swim. Great shopping and restaurants right out front on street and also beach side. Hotel has a spa and also has yoga most mornings - however yoga is on a grassed area on top of hotel with no shade - Maya this needs to be reviewed. Negatives: our room rate did not include breakfast which was outrageous! Breakfast is $AUD33 each which is ridiculous. There are hotels on Sanur Beach that cost a third of the price and they include breakfast in the rate. We would walk 20 metres to a joint on the sand and have eggs, toast and a coffee for $7! Maya - please consider including breakfast in your rate. Pool right on beach but a little small and claustrophobic - and we were there during off peak. Overall a beautiful indulgent hotel.

The resort is nice, clean and walking distance to anywhere around Sanur beach area. Kuu and Rue restaurant are nice, food were yummy and affordable. Beach bar always rowdy and crowded, takes time to get your order. Overall, its a good experience to enjoy the service they provided.

We spent 6 nights at Maya over the Xmas holidays. Overall our stay was ok. Here are some things to consider when deciding on this resort.... The resort is on a very long block, so a large portion of the accommodation is located at the rear of the block, not beachside. If you have walking issues, this could be a problem. The building is concrete & very noisy at night & in the mornings. Movement above & below us could often be heard. (Our room was on the 3rd floor with one level above us). The doors to each room are self closing, so slamming doors by other guests & the cleaners were easily heard throughout the building. When booking our room (Wonderful King Garden View Room) there was no mention of this room type being interconnected. So again the noise from the neighbouring room was easily heard. The bathroom was lovely with a deep bath tub. We requested a non smoking room, which was very nice, but the people staying next door were smokers & would sit on their balcony smoking, which meant we couldn't sit on ours & had to keep the doors closed. It made no sense as to why this placement would occur. Perhaps dedicating one section of the accommodation to smokers would be better than mixing them in with non smoking rooms. There are 3 pools in total, however the main pool (closet to the beach & bar) is quite small & needs updating. Children & adults share this space & at times it was crowded (& again without wanting to repeat myself ) it was noisey with screaming children overtaking the space. Perhaps staying here outside of any school holidays would have been a different experience. The breakfast was ok, all the usual suspects. Staff were lovely & obliging, however some of the staff struggled when taking our food order. There is a rooftop terrace, which over looks the beach & resort. Although this area has massive potential, it is currently a complete waste of space & appears under used. An adults only pool with snack bar would be welcome option. The boardwalk which runs along the the beachfront for several kms is wonderful with a calm ocean & gives guest the option to walk or ride a bike to many cafe's & restaurants. There are also a number of markets for those wanting to bargain with the stallholders, alternatively the "Icon" shopping centre is located about 15mins along the boardwalk from our resort. Sanur is a lovely, calm neighbourhood for those looking to get away from the hustle & bustle of Legian & Seminyak.

I was a solo traveller female and felt very comfortable there . I had a lagoon pool room that was spacious and modern and huge . The breakfast was extensive and catered for every taste . The tree bar was the place to just sit all day and look at the water and the activity . Great place at night too and happy hour 5-7pm . I would highly recommend Maya Sanur .

What a great spot in the heart of Sanur! My husband and I booked an Impressive Nest Suite which was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The outlook was serene looking over treetops and it was quiet, with really good sound-proofed walls. Breakfast was fantastic, great options and we loved Happy Hour in the bar. I wasn’t planning on using the spa but after my complimentary short massage with Adnyani, I rebooked a 90 minute massage with her and her absolutely magic hands - one of the best massages I’ve ever had! I’ve stayed in a few different hotels in Sanur now and in terms of comfort, Maya has certainly taken the top spot for me and I look forward to returning again someday.

Sanur has been a great location for relaxing vacation. It is in proximity with good dining places and small shopping. The resort is connected to the beach that make it convenient for morning walk , easy biking (hotel provided complimentary bicycle rental), and even water sport ( there is rental company nearby on the beach for jet ski, kayak, and other). The hotel room is spacious with warm and modern design, very comfortable. However, my room has moisture problem, even with dehumidifier the air still moldy. Fortunately, the other room where my family stay was fine. The staff has been very attentive in cleaning & providing drinking water. The main swimming pool is nice and relaxing, however it can be crowded since the lagoon pool is reserved for lagoon room guest. The hotel offered yoga class and great spa menu. Overall, we really enjoyed our relaxing stay.

We are a family of 4 adults and 3 kids (age 7,4,1) and we all enjoyed our stay. The resort is clean and well situated near the beach. The restaurants onsite are fantastic and there are many flood restaurants along the road. Kids enjoyed the kids club and I found the staff attentive and professional. A staff anticipated my 1yo was about to hit the table and she quickly put her hand at the corner of the table even though there is already a protector installed. I wish the resort can have more activities to cater for the adults and have some life floats for the younger kids .

We recently stayed for 6 nights. We booked a nest suite but we were upgraded to a lagoon nest suite on arrival. Staying in a lagoon suite made our holiday so much nicer. We could have a quick dip whenever we wanted, especially just before bed. The nest sites also looked lovely, but having the pool at our backdoor was wonderful. The gardens, decor, artwork and setting was so beautiful. Staff were exceptional. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning, along with the simple afternoon tea. It would have been nice to have had the cakes from breakfast offered for afternoon tea as they looked delicious but not something I'd eat in the morning. We enjoyed 1/2 price drinks from 5-7pm each night, it was such a comfortable relaxed setting. We found the location to be very central and walked to most restaurants and shops. This is a chilled out holiday resort. Thank you for such a wonderful trip away.

I got a very good deal last minute for my room and was pleased with my stay although only for one night. Very yummy welcome drink and friendly staff. There are many restaurants and shops right next to it and it even has a few of its own although I didn’t try any. Right on the beach. If you book bottom floor you have pool access. There are many pools so while it isn’t private you basically have it to yourself. Gorgeous setting and extremely clean and comfortable. Huge bed! Thanks for a great stay !

We stayed at Maya Sanur Resort and Spa for three days and had a great time. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choices. The location was excellent, right next to the beach. Our room was spacious and clean.
We loved our first visit to Sanur. This hotel is gorgeous and has a walking track out the front. Close to many restaurants although we are at the hotel a few times too. Delicious food and wonderful amenities. Would stay again for sure.

We weren’t given the room I had booked which was very disappointing but the next day the manager was great and moved us to a pool access room which I had booked. The manager was lovely. Our pool access room was fantastic and I highly recommend. Staff and facilities were great.

Your service is bad especially in breakfast area , food quality is so bad. Most of the hot food selection are empty especially bacon. Took 40 minutes for hot americano to arrive in our table. For such a small Pool the towel are not enough qty to cater guest at 9.00 am. Bike cant be prebook. 1st come 1st serve , staff said complimentary for 2 hrs waited for 3 hrs for bike available but never happen. Normal 1.00 PM late checkout need to be requested many2 times until they allow. Honestly for such a big hotel ur service is too far from okay. Room is big and clean thats the upside of this hotel . I was a returning customer quite however my last stay wont bring me back any time soon to this hotel. Service too far compared to neighbour hotels

I lost my necklace there

Regarding the necklace you reported, please be assured that immediately after receiving your call, our Housekeeping and Security team carried out a comprehensive and detailed inspection of the room. All drawers, linens, and areas under the bed were carefully checked, and the mattress was lifted and removed to ensure that no space was overlooked. Unfortunately, despite these thorough efforts, we were unable to locate the necklace. We truly understand how distressing it can be to misplace a personal belonging. “Well presented hotel”
Just returned after visiting the Maya as our second location this trip. We were travelling as a couple and found some great things and some negative points here. Firstly the staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble, the hotel was modern and beautifully kept, clean spacious rooms. Breakfast was amazing with a wide assortment to choose from no matter where you are from in the world. The pool looks over the beach which is better than most hotels in the sanur area, but it’s not really a pool for kids, nothing much to do for them. It was just a basic pool with not much else. The rooms were quite a long distance from the pool and restaurant area which was a pain especially if we forgot something which was a negative for me. The tree bar was lovely and happy hour fantastic overlooking the beach. The beach is ugly when the tide is out most of the day but that is just what it is. We didn’t try the restaurants there as we preferred the cheaper beach restaurants which were all walking distance. If I were to come back to Sanur I would probably want to stay 10 mins up towards the main shopping area. The beach is nicer and restaurants outside your door. We had to walk 15 mins back to the hotel sometimes in pitch black as the lighting wasn’t that great in spots on the walking path. So all in all Maya is a really nice hotel with the major drawbacks for us being room distance, and position of hotel to nice beach restaurants further up the beach and beach out the front not that nice with sloping sand and seaweed view when tide is out. When tide is in it’s fine. Also to mention it is Balinese run and owned which is nice and the staff are just beautiful and attentive
