Straight to the problem save your time reading. This hotel does not allow cars to park at the hotel and we ended up parking in nearby carparks (1 min drive away). If you are looking for a hotel with free carparking, this is not the one for you (look for the one right next to the JR station, they've got lots of parking lots). Other than that, very good hotel and spacious room. Private onsen is available for booking, yet the "public" onsen is not crowded at all. Overall an enjoyable experience.

This was my second time in Takayama, both times stayed in 4 stars hotels but different hotel. Comparing both hotel, price wise and everything. I would not go back here again unless i dont have any other option available. Pros: - Room design is great, ambience is nice and cozy. Also, it is clean. - the staffs can accommodate many languages, like indonesian, chinese, thai Cons: - Misled information from the receptionist. We were told there was no luggage delivery service and no yamato service available in the city. But, as we walk into the old town there are COUPLES of yamato’s drop off points. I asked her multiple times and she was certain in answering me. Definitely need to upgrade the ground staff knowledge better! - Terrible procedure. My wive had left her hairclip at the private onsen room. We realized it straight away and called the receptionist. No feedback that night. The morning after, we asked the receptionist, they seemed clueless about the missing item. As we need to rush for our bus, we came back in the afternoon and FINALLY got an answer, it was lost. It was not about the missing hairclip that i was disappointed, but it was how they handled the situation. They could have called me back or gave me an answer the morning after. Since the morning staffs were clueless, i could assume they didnt even bother to left notes to contact me. Fyi, i told them my room number too! - Lack of amenities. This was the first public onsen in a hotel without providing hair tie! What a disappointment. I wish mercure could have done it better since it a renown world wide hotel brand.

You may find Yamato drop off point, but there is no Yamato counter in the city, and the shop where you can drop off may be far from our hotel. We usually invite you to use the Post Office in order to send your suitcase. I am very sorry about the issue with your hairclip loss. To preserve your relax and sleeping time, we may not call you in the room if it is late in the evening. Stayed here for 2 nights, such a lovely and clean hotel. Rooms are good sized and layout is perfect. Enjoyed the private Onsen for both nights and worth every cents spent. Breakfast considerably good. The only downside was the hotel doesn’t come with a coin laundry and parking, but there’s an open space public parking just two blocks away.

First of all, for those that driving this hotel do not have any parking facilities and do not provide assistance. So find your own parking. The only think, I will give it a five because it is located very near to train station but hotel tokyu stay is much better. We do not feel you are staying in Japan as the hospitality is too western. With that you find the hotel guests are mostly foreigners and some of them lack in cleanliness etiquette. So if you seasonal travel, avoid this hotel. The public bath is a nightmare with all the used towel everywhere. 3rdly don't take the breakfast uf you stay more than one night. Totally the same.

“Very new hotel near Takayama stn”
Pros: Location is about 5min walk frm Takayama stn and 10mins to the old Takayama town. Onsen is wonderful. Newly renovated and very clean. There is a sizeable indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools too. Cons: No parking available even though there were 4 or 5 empty slots. This is incomparable to the neighbours like Tokyu Stay which had ample parking space. Hotel staff recommended us to park behind Takayama stn, which supposedly is 600yen per 24hours. Again, this is outdated information. Fortunately we checked the rate and did not park here, if not it would amount to more than 4000yen. We parked at another carpark which was just 700yen per 24hours. Staff need to keep themselves updated and stop giving incorrect info to guests. No coin laundry available.
