3/5 for value for money - although more affordable than other 5 star resorts in the island, it is with a trade-off. Certain level of service fell short as compared. Bathroom amenities fell very basic just toothbrush set and shower cap. No body lotion or other items. There’s complimentary 1st day mini bar or welcome sweets or fruits. They didn’t serve coffee or tea at the table. It’s self-serve. 5/5 on location - personally love Chenang beach and the property has its own private beach with abundance of beach chairs to chill and relax. 4/5 on cleanliness - given it’s chalet type of resort I think there should be even more attention to detail for cleanliness. The bathroom could be cleaned and scrubbed more especially the shower area. Other area of the room and resort are up to standard. 4/5 on staff - the buggy drivers are all very nice and friendly. Cafe and restaurants staff are friendly too. Check in staff may need to be mindful especially during peak hour. Understand it’s stressful but so for the guests who have been traveling to stay at the resort. 5/5 on facilities. - really enjoyed that there are 2 pools, 2 restaurants serving breakfast and the buggy service is relatively fast and efficient. Again so many beach chairs along the resort private beach and convenient to relax. Overall it is a good stay. We went during relatively calm period with mostly foreign guests. I would imagine during local holiday period it can be very packed and with different experience altogether.

I stayed at Pelangi Beach Resort Langkawi in July 2025, and once again, it exceeded all my expectations. This was actually my third visit to the resort, and each time just keeps getting better. The resort is beautifully surrounded by nature and right by the beach — the views, the sounds of the ocean, and the overall peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect escape. It truly feels like a hidden paradise. The rooms are always clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. But what really makes Pelangi stand out is the top-notch service. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. Their warm hospitality is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. We recently stayed at Pelangi Beach Resort Langkawi and the resort itself has a beautiful tropical atmosphere with traditional Malay-style architecture. One highlight was the breakfast experience, where guests can enjoy two different breakfast styles. One is an Asian-style breakfast located near the swimming pool, while the other is a Western/American-style breakfast facing the sea. The American breakfast option even includes a complimentary free-flow alcoholic drink, making it very enjoyable while dining with a beautiful sea view. The resort also has several themed restaurants, which adds variety to the dining experience. The swimming pool area is very large, with separate pools for adults and kids, making it great for families. In the evening, the beachfront restaurant features a live band with very nice vocals, creating a lovely atmosphere. Sitting by the beach with a glass of wine while listening to live music was definitely one of the highlights of the stay. However, we experienced an issue with our Agoda booking. Our booking confirmation clearly showed Seaview Room, but the room we received was actually Lake View on the 2nd floor, which required walking up stairs. After checking with the hotel, they informed us that the reservation they received from Agoda was Lake View instead of Seaview, even though my confirmation booking showed Seaview and this was verified with Agoda customer support through a phone call. Unfortunately, by the time we checked in, no Seaview rooms were available, so we had to stay in the Lake View room. Agoda informed us that the hotel will refund the price difference between the Seaview and Lake View room, but as of now after checkout we have not yet received any update regarding the refund. Another downside was the delayed check-in. Although check-in time is supposed to be 3PM, we arrived around 4PM and still had to wait until almost 5PM for the room to be ready. Overall, the resort itself is beautiful with great facilities, dining options, and atmosphere, but the booking issue and delayed check-in slightly affected our experience this time.

We were impressed by the exceptional cleanliness and spaciousness of our room. The bathroom had strong water pressure, and the cool water was especially refreshing after spending time under the sunny weather. The room was very comfortable and relaxing—we truly enjoyed resting during both the day and evening, simply doing nothing and unwinding. Housekeeping was carried out daily, with an ample supply of drinking water and fresh towels provided. These reliable and thoughtful basic services greatly enhanced our holiday experience and allowed us to fully enjoy our stay.

I love this resort where we spent 2 nights here. The staffs are helpful and cheerful too. We had the garden view room where our room direct access to the swimming pool. The location is great at the end of Cenang beach, which is calm an do peaceful. My favourites moments are the two restaurants for breakfast, and there is a pokok jambu air (also known as rose apple fruit) in front of our room, which i personally picked and ate. Not far from there was the tamarind tree and I tried the ripe tamarind fruit too. The entire resort is well kept with beautiful malay house architecture. Perhaps some of the wood planks in the room can be refurbished but otherwise it still gives me the kampung vibe, I like 👍

We had a nice 4-night holiday at Pelangi recently. Overall impression was a positive one. Check in process was smooth and efficient. The room was spacious and relatively clean. The staff were generally courteous and prompt with their service. The grounds are large so getting to the pool and restaurant was a long walk with kids especially during the day when it’s hot. The buggy service helps but the wait for one can be long (around 10-15 minutes). The food at the main restaurant was satisfactory but not anything exceptional. There were a few items on the menu that left us a little disappointed. Overall I would mark our stay a 7/10. Good resort but room for improvement.

Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa remains my preferred hotel in Langkawi. Its excellent beachfront location, well-maintained facilities, and genuinely warm staff make every stay exceptional. I have stayed at other hotels in Langkawi within the same price range, but none of them come close to the overall experience that Pelangi offers. The combination of its traditional Malay-style chalets, spacious rooms, and attentive service gives it a unique charm that is hard to beat. Pelangi continues to set the standard for comfort, service, and value on the island which is why I keep coming back.

It's my second time to visit Pelangi. All the staffs are attentive and very helpful. I must especially thank to duty manager Chong Langan for all his help, Chezza from front desk and housekeeper Japi for keeping my room clean at all times. Room is spacious and clean with huge bathtub. Basically all chalets are same size just different view. My twins love the pools with many slides and clean beach so much. There's 2 different sections of breakfast which my twins prefer the western food at CBA with stunning sea view. Where the other side serving international breakfast with plenty of varieties too but more crowded and noisy. At night we walk along the baech to watch fire show, kids like it so much. The show last about 30 mins. There's one restaurant along the left side of Chenang road named Safa Marwah serves delicious boneless chicken butter masala. The Cliff restaurant at right side of the road with sea view also a good choice for fusion food. There's also 2 Chinese restaurants at left side of Chenang road serving good food with reasonable price. There's one and only Chinese Hawker dishes on he left of the roadside handling by both husband and wife, we order one wanton noodle, one fried kuey teow and 2 barley cost us Rm 36, but the local only pay for Rm5 for each wanton noodle. Terrible Chinese hawker we encounter. We even had Chinese food at Kuah restaurant named Wonderful, this place is so crowded and long queue but the food is really lousy and taste bad. Their seafood is not clean properly. It's a nightmare to us, pls don't try!

Good and comfortable stay for 2 nights! Clean and comfortable room. Was surprised with good morning note from cleaner which made my day! cheers to (umay)for doing that :) facilities everything was good, but some refurbishment might be needed for e.g fitness corner buggy service sometimes was slow, especially during peak periods … Staffs were super friendly, even accepted my request to extend 1hr for checkout due to my flight delay.

Stayed for 5 nights with our 2 sons in their early 20s (2 of us vegetarian and 1 vegan). large comfortable rooms and beds. easy walk to multiple good restaurants. Ate in the hotel spice market restaurant 2 nights - very good value and excellent food (lots of veggie options and couple of vegan options too - look for the veggie alternative symbol. Try Yasmin restaurant too across the road for vegan options). Breakfast was vast choice and amazing (all put on weight!). Every evening went to hotel beach bar for sundown cocktail on beach bean bags, Jeffry the bar tender was top notch! All the staff couldn't be more helpful and all genuinely looked happy in their work. Tried both the pools, the horizon pool had more shade and was good size for proper swim. We went in local holiday period and UK easter hols and didn't find crowded. The cascade pool we found too hot. We'd 100% recommend staying in this hotel.

Had a lovely stay! The staff were incredibly warm and friendly, always ready with a smile and helpful attitude. The food was delicious with a good variety to choose from. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout our stay. What really stood out was the range of kid-friendly activities — it kept the little ones happily occupied. Overall, a great experience for both adults and children. Would definitely recommend!

Stayed whilst doing Ironman Malaysia. Finish line is located on their private beach. Everything was perfect. Only slight criticism is be careful on the wooden steps after it’s rained - very slippery! I fell down them 2 seats before the race with my bike & nearly ruined the whole race! Staff are very attentive, breakfast is good (starts at 4am on race day), beach is lovely & clean & water warm & clear. Rooms are lovely & very cool

We stayed here for the entire stay for Langkawi and it was stunning! We had the villas on the beach, and I highly recommend, from the moment you step into the resort, it is luxury everywhere! We were greeted with welcome drinks, the main pool was stunning, it was huge the entire place, a few restaurants on site, and if you keep walking down the beach, you have beach sports right on your door step, we did the Langkawi jetski tour which I'd highly recommend. Rooms were squeaky clean, and they had rituals amenties which was so luxurious!!

We just spent 4D3N with our two year old at Pelangi hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Their friendly and helpful staff in particular deserve special mention: everyone was courteous and went out of their way to make the experience perfect. One buggy driver even insisted on picking my hubby up directly from the parking lot because my son was so amped about the ride and couldnt wait to get on. Everyone from check in to the cleaning crew and the restaurant wait staff were like this. The room was also lovely; clean, comfy and beautiful. The facilities did feel pretty dated and definitely need a bit of a refresh... especially the pool area, with some of the kids play features not working properly. That said, its hard to complain because how many hotels offer such an elaborate kids pool area with the water slides and water guns, etc? We also thought it got a bit too dark around the pool area and a tad too warm at the lobby and Pelangi Grill restaurant. I would suggest that the hotel does something to adapt to the crazy change in climate these days... it will certainly go a long way. For families with kiddos, the Kiki Farm is certainly a nice touch - the animals were friendly and gentle, and the kids will enjoy feeding them. One concern we did have was the one of the goats seemed to have a broken leg and a duck had a broken wing... not sure what happened there. The Kiki Kids club is also nice, though perhaps more appropriate for younger kids. We didn't try the activities as my son is too young so I can't say anything about that. The food was generally okay depending on what you order though I wouldn't rave about it. Breakfast is decent. Overall a lovely experience and definitely worth the money spent. Will definitely come back the next time we land in Langkawi!

I preferred the Spice Market restaurant, which offered a wider variety of dishes compared to the Western Grill. The Downsides: I was assigned a room on the second floor, which proved to be quite inconvenient. With an 8-month-old baby and a stroller, walking up and down repeatedly was exhausting. I did request a room change, but unfortunately, the request was declined, making it difficult to manage both the Ironman event and family needs simultaneously. Despite plenty of people yet to check in, they prioritise incoming guest than existing. The resort is quite far from the parking area, requiring a buggy for transport. During peak hours, the wait for the buggy can exceed 20 minutes. One bad experience I had was waiting for 20 minutes, only to have to go back to the room and call for assistance again. At nearly RM 1,000 per night, the price feels steep, especially considering the more affordable 5-star options available in Thailand. I found it hard to justify the high price for the value received. The room itself was just average. Although it had been recently renovated, the mattress was uncomfortable. It seemed old and unsupportive, which resulted in back pain that affected my sleep before, during, and after my Ironman race. The mattress had soft spots that didn't bounce back, offering poor support and contributing to sleepless nights. Overall: While the location and amenities are good, the price point is hard to justify, especially when compared to similar options in neighboring countries. The resort would be a decent option for those participating in events like Ironman, as having a place to relax post-race is crucial, but for the price, I expected more comfort and better service. Additionally, it's unfortunate that the hotel couldn't accommodate my request for a more family-friendly room arrangement, which added stress during an already busy event.

Love this hotel so much. My 4th time here! The pool is gorgeous, and beach is lovely with the soft sand, the rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable, and its near restaurants that line the main road outside and along the beachfront. Love that there are two options for breakfasts, and the food is good! Highly recommended for solo travellers, or families with both older and younger kids.

“Absolutely perfect stay-higly recommended”
Our stay at Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa was absolutely outstanding and exceeded all our expectations. Everything was perfect from the very first moment. The resort is beautifully designed, set in lush tropical gardens right on a stunning sandy beach. The atmosphere is calm, relaxing, and truly luxurious, yet still very welcoming and warm. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and extremely comfortable, with great attention to detail. Housekeeping was excellent every single day. The staff deserve special praise – everyone was incredibly kind, professional, and always smiling. They genuinely care about guests and make you feel special at all times. Breakfast was amazing, with a wide variety of high-quality food, fresh fruit, and both local and international options. The restaurants and bars throughout the resort were excellent as well. The pools, beach, and overall facilities were perfectly maintained. It is an ideal place both for relaxation and for enjoying nature. We truly felt at home here and were sad to leave.
