Wonderful and exotic place ”

We stayed for a week and really enjoyed it. Staff took very good care of us and the whole hotel was very well maintained . Based on the individual style houses, the setting in a coffee plantation and the vast garden make a retreat with a lot of character. Nothing like the concrete mass tourism resorts The Spa is beautiful and the treatments were amazing. I highly recommend it.

Magic hidden gem”

Absolutely fantastic setting. Staff, spa, restaurant and facilities are top class. We have already planned a return stay with a larger group as you can be as private or as social as ypu wish on these 22,000 hectars of beautifully maintained plantation. Lush jungle paradise escape”

We stayed 3 nights during the rainy season. Our Villa was beautiful in its own traditional way but above all very comfortable. The entire MesaStila grounds was incredibly beautiful and lush. The jungle greenery mixed with the historic architecture and the outstanding service from the staff made the stay unique, relaxing, invigorating and unforgettable. The service from every single member of staff was outstanding. The staff at the reception, restaurant, spa, yoga classes, housekeeping and drivers were all so wonderful and professional during our whole stay. It is important to note that the resort is relatively difficult to travel to, and the traffic along the way can be very challenging at times. Having said that, I would still recommend MesaStila to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle, and to become more one with nature and the Indonesian landscape.

Amazing and relaxing resort with great views”

Amazing resort with great views and facilities like the swimming pool and the spa. Complimentary activities like the coffee plantation tour and yoga have been great. The staff made sure our stay was comfortable. Overall we really enjoyed our time and this was a perfect 3 relaxing days before carrying on with traveling.

Most relaxing resort in the world”

THE best resort we have stayed at in the world. In the heart of Central Java Mesastila offers a true sanctuary to relax, enjoy some delicious Javanese food and coffee and explore some of the countryside. We went back to the spa twice and the Hammam was a super nice touch - opted for the Arabian Nights package and left more relaxed then we have ever been. The staff at the resort made the experience - by day two they all had remembered our names and the chef even came out to prepare a special dinner for us. A couple tips (1) try to arrange your own transportation as the hotel charges $600k (note in Bali we paid $700k for 8-hours of driving) // (2) try to pick up your own wine at duty free as they charge an arm and leg for alcohol at this resort (was almost $7USD for a Bitang when we got it for less than $2 in Bali). Overall amazing experience just expect to double what you paid for the hotel in expenses while there.

Beautful Central Javanese Setting”

The experience was wonderful and the grounds and hotel are stunning. This is the picture perfect place to visit if you are going to Java and Borobudur Temple. While it is a little out of the way, we felt the traveling (2.5hrs from Yogokarta and 1hr to Borobodur) was worth it. There are a few things that the hotel need to work on - it is tired - but with the grounds, the charming staff and the views - you get a lot for what you pay for. Overall the negatives were tiny in comparison to the positives - and definitely worth the visit.

Peaceful stay”

this is a beautiful property in an amazing location, the rooms were very nicely furnished comfortable bed and nice linens, the huge balcony area overlooking the mountains was my favourite spot. Amazing view”

Worth the 3hr drive from Adisujipto airport. Stayed in Arum Villa with the Mt. Merapi view. View was AMAZING!! The jacuzzi in the room is huge! My kids loved it! Staffs were excellent! The cons: Swimming pool has cockroaches. The food was so so. Not that excellent for a 5star hotel but there's no choice. The rest was awesome! Will definitely come back!

What a pity to leave!”

We have been at many places, but Mesa Stila ranks high in our top 10. Where to start? The old station waitng room reception? The lovingly laid out grounds of the compound? the breathtaking views on the Merapi, Sinbung or Sidono? The great food at the restaurant? The gorgeous spa and the great massage? The spacious rooms? Watching the morning mists evaporate from your terrace? Tea time in the tea house? It is one great luxury that one has not time enough of to fully enjoy. Just two comments: Why aren't there any shadings or parasols around the pool? The shower is a bit underwhelming with a simple curtain and a nozzle that is too close to the wall. We love to find an excuse for coming back.

I stayed here for my birthday and I chose the right place. MesaStila exceeds my best expectation. The service was top notch, way above greatness. The attentiveness, the care, the always smiling crews, everything was magnificent. They even made me a cake and all staffs that I met congratulated me! Definitely hospitality at its best. This was our second time. We enjoyed it very much. The rooms were clean and the location of the chalet gave us all the privacy we wanted. The evening tea is a great add-on and its lovely setting with the sunset is memorable.

nice quiet secluded area out from daily activities”

one word, very relaxing! i enjoy stay in here, did nothing but enjoying and relaxing in the day bed, swimming pool, lazing around see the scenery. We got upgrade to bigger room which is nice. The food in restaurant is good. the only thing is this hotel expensive, super duper expensive, but worth it. free tea time , and the coffee is good!!

Good Hideaway”

It was great to stay here, the staffs are friendly and helpful. I got a nice room facing mountain. Afternoon tea served with traditional snack (good!!), dinner was excellent. In the morning we took a short walk to the coffee plantation, good explanation from the guide. Not to forget the experience eating coffee beans with palm sugar. Over all it is good place to spend quality time with your partner or family. Pls note, it is closer to reach the place from Semarang better than Jogjakarta.

A place for a meditation retreat”

It is no doubt expensive to stay here. However, you get what you pay for. The food is healthy and cooked with effort, right down to the plating. Even the chicken porridge at breakfast is amazing. The vegetables used are mainly grown on the plantation itself. Very fresh and delicious. The menu is crafted towards wellness, so you won't find any junk food here, nonetheless, meals are satisfying. I tried the turkish bath and javanese massage. I love the hamam (steam room). The service is attentive and the environment where you have your massage is next to nature. You can hear the sound of the insects and the light breeze that comes through your room. There are activities such as coffee plantation tour and workouts to keep you occupied. But who needs all these if you are looking for a getaway just to do nothing. I love the coffee soap in the room! The service is great as well. They are attentive, personalised and gentle as well. You will feel like a king.

Great experience, friendly staffs, clean and spacious villa. Great coffee plantation tour with a knowledgeable guide. Fantastic spa. Food is extremely delicious, with a warm welcome from the chef himself.

Best stylist stay in Central Java ”

Four of us stayed for 4 days in Mesastila and we enjoyed the stay so much, beautiful scenery combined with grand old colonial club house and complemented with Javanese traditional villas bring a very relaxing positive atmosphere. Kids were enjoyed with all the daily activities, horse riding, everyday swimming in a grand spectacular view pool, coffee plantation tour, Javanese dancing class, and enjoying afternoon tea and coffee in the plantation lounge. The spa is also superb, lucky us we met our friend from the past in the resort. On top of that, We find the staff are very well trained and full of service. We will be come back there for sure.
