Highly recommend this hotel for convenience and price”

As an avid snorkeler have passed through Manado on the way to Bunaken Island as well as a layover city on the way to Raja Ampat and have used the Novotel Hotel on three occasions. The hotel is only about 15 minutes from the Airport (should be a 100,000 Rupiah taxi drive) and centered in the midst of a golf course which is a sound buffer from any highway traffic. The rooms are immaculately clean, quiet, and noticed this year that instead of placing one or two plastic bottles of drinking water, the rooms have water dispensers with a 5 gallon jug on top. The restaurant food is equally up to western and standards. Tourists have the option when making a reservation to include the morning buffet breakfast. I noticed I hadn't included the breakfast, so I happily paid an additional 115,00 Rupiahs for an amazing buffet breakfast with too many food options to mention. The service manager Jems Alfriano Malore, in particular made sure my stay was pleasant and hassle free.

The night before we arrived, there was some sort of fire caused by short circuit, so the ceiling of the lobby was black and smelling of smoke. The system was down, so it took forever for us to be checked in. The rooms were not ready yet (we arrived late afternoon) and when when we finally got our rooms, it was at the far end corridor of a low storey. The rooms were dusty and mosquito-infested. They changed our rooms after we complained. However, the whole experience was quite unpleasant.

Best stay for layover”

We stayed in this hotel twice on our way to and from our diving destinations. The first room we were given was on the second, that is ground, floor and was a previously smoking room. And the smell was still lurking. The shower was a bit leaky and moldy. Nothing terribly bad, but not perfect. The second room we got was on the fourth floor, spacious and spotlessly clean. Mattresses are decent. Air conditioning well performing. Sleep was quiet and restful. The breakfast is very good, both in quality and variety of food. The restaurant is otherwise a bit pricey and some dishes aren't done properly. Reception staff is very helpful. Overall this hotel is fine choice for staying after or before flights. We went to the Manado city on occasion. And were happy that we choose Novotel. Few tips: there is an excellent restaurant "Tuna House" some ten minutes walk or short taxi ride north. About 400 meters north of the hotel there is a nice shopping mall with kids zone and some nice souvenirs.

We stayed at this location twice. Once in transit and again for medical emergency. I cannot stop sing the praises of the staff at this location for their assistance in a time of stress. Their professionalism and care was a lesson in compassion. We will visit again.

Great location”

Great location and was staying at Novotel to attend a wedding located in the same compound (Grand Kawanua Convention Centre), we walked from the hotel to Grand Kawanua. Very practical. Room is standard and quite clean, the downside is the room smells tobacco. Breakfast also good but the view is very nice, very close to nature-ish type. Also close to the airport, did not stuck in traffic coming in and going back from/to airport.

i'm a local, live in manado. this hotel located near the airport. this is a busy hotel , sometimes packed with a lot of tourist. at the front desk while i was in the 2nd line of queue checking in,one of the staff quickly approach to help me with the check in process. smooth check in. and i got a free upgrade to one of their suite room. this hotel have a shuttle to the city..and perfect if you are spending the night for an early trip to airport, or if you want to explore manado..because they can help arrange your trip from the hotel

Nice facilities. I needed to insist staff try to find an adjoining room for children even though I asked for it when I ordered the room. Prices for food and golf is a little highWas quite a pleasant stay in the end.

my stay in novotel is very pleasant. the staffs are really helpful. i experience trouble with the internet connection at first, but they really helpful with that. They even willing to move me to different room just to help me with the internet connection.

Great stay close to airport”

After a long dive trip and staying in places without aircon, I treated myslef to the Novotel for my last night in Manado. It was a great value offering ample food choices, a great fitness center, an inviting pool, and large and clean rooms with comfortable bedding. My flight was very early, so the Novotel is a great choice as the airport is only a short 10-min drive away. You cannot go wrong with this choice!

A very good stay”

It was a relaxing stay. I enjoyed swimming in the pool where no one was swimming except me! I really enjoyed it, away from the crowd. It's just 10 minutes away from the airport. Their pick up service is Rp 121000 -- expensive but if you arrive late at night, it's worth.

A pleasant stay”

The staff were friendly and helpful. They even gave me the chance to use the computer online, free for so long. They had a room and always no one was there using the computer, so I could use it all the time.

we stayed here for one night in transit and were happy with our stay, the rooms were clean and comfortable with a great view of the golf course and surrounding mountains. the swimming pool and buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day.

Good options for overnight”

There was no hot water when I took a shower. I only stayed one night as I had an early morning flight the next day so I did not bother asking to change rooms however it was a little annoying given the price of the rooms. The hotel also charges your card prior to your stay without informing you. I was less than impressed with this as I wanted to pay cash.

Lovely views”

We stayed a single night here with an early morning flight departure the next day. The setting and views over the pool to the volcano are divine. Pricier than what I'd normally spend, but this was a worthwhile splurge.

Quiet and peaceful location”

I was very pleased when I entered my room. It was roomy and well-designed. The location was the attractive selling-point. It was not in the hustle and bustle of the city. The surrounding view was also great.

Nice modern hotel with a calm atmosphere”

it’s a pity that we only stayed for a night. i will come back to this hotel. although the hotel is located in a quiet and serene surrounding, it’s only 15 minutes to the town centre and 10 minutes from the airport. a nice combination of functionality and modern interior, with friendly personnel.

The hotel is very modern and clean. Love the toilet and shower. The staff is very friendly and put me in a nice room with beautiful mountain view upon my request. The hotel has good selection of tv chanels from all over the world, a nice outdoor swimming pool, and a lovely restaurant. I spent 3 pleasant days there for vacation even it seems to cater more conference attendants, I still have a great time.

I couldn't get the room immediately though i arrived at 3 pm. There were a lot of other tourists. The staffs in the bar seemed weren't understand English well enough. The walls were thin, i could here the TV sound from other room, sounds from the alley, people shouting from outside the room. There were molds near the refrigerator. I think Novotel can be better.

Disappointed with housekeeping”

We like the location and overall service. But the housekeeping team who is resposible for the toilet is not doing their job well. For the 6days and 5 nights that we stayed we have to request clean towels a few times. Either there is not enough towels or the towels are not changed. The bath mat which was wet was not changed either. I am not sure whether shower cap and sanitary bag are included in the amenities which should be supplied to guests because I have never receives them. I have to ask for a shower cap before being provided. I am staying in Novotel and not Ibis. I can understand if Ibis does not provide them but Novotel?
