Good location but..”

room facing Lake Toba, has a small pool in the lake in the hotel. But thr washroo. in the room is smelly, shower doesnt work, boiling hot water frm 6am to 9am only (water heat cannot be controlled) the toilet smell is disturbing. will not stay again even for free

No value for money and lousy facilities”

We booked for 2 nights, but we were only able to stay for one because the condition of the room was so bad. We had to urgently look for another hotel to stay for the 2nd night. First, we booked the room for 4 of us, but there were only 2 single beds and a very old sofa bed which is not in the bedroom. The bedroom is attached with the bathroom which has no aircond/ fan. There is an air vent which is full of dust on the top of the ceiling and the smell in the room and bathroom was awful. There was also no wifi in the room. The shower head was broken and the water was splashing everywhere. The fixture on the wall that was suppose hold the shower head did not work so we had to hold the shower head while we shower. There was also no heater for the shower. We were informed that the hot water for shower were only available at a certain period but even during that period, the water wasn't even luke warm.

Budget hotel with a beautiful surrounding ”

The best thing about this hotel is it's view, the room is quite spacious and comfortable. The service is excellent, they served freshly prepared food and also give a choice for breakfast. Hot and cool water dispenser also provided everywhere around the hotel, all the staff were nice, helpful and friendly. Considered quite comfortable for a short stay and valued for money, very recommended for backpackers and budget travellers

Wifi connection not so strong.have to stay near reception area to get strong connection. Staff helpful ,find us the car to go to airport.prepared sahur (predawnfood) during ramadhan.Delicious nasii goreng!tq.

Need improvement ”

Overall its a average rating hotel. However they could improve on 1. The smell from toilet 2. The communication skill of reception 3. Adding at least fan if not A/C to the rooms 4. Soft drink as welcome drink is great, but should also accomodate if guest just prefer mineral water for exchange I have booked the quad room, but they only serve breakfast for 2pax. When i ask to justify, they just say its their policy.

Budget & Natural ”

The hotel is at the main road and close to other bigger hotels and amenities, but yet it is secluded at the edge of the Lake Toba. The rooms are all facing the lake, each nicely ventilated naturally without the need for air-conditioners, and the showers are solar heated With cool weather of Parapat, it is just excellent. No unnecessary frills. (Note: heated water is only piped in the mornings and early evenings). Recommended budget hotel.

Good location, serene lake, swim in front of hotel”

The whole hotel is nice in general except the following:1) Room has no fan or ac - sure the air is cool & crisp but only at night. During the daytime, I suppose with global warming, the heat can still get to you. Because of that, we had to open the door all the time. We had room the furthest end from the lobby which had a nice round table for the family to have our lunch/dinner. 2) Toilet was clean but due to poor drainage, is smelly after each usage.3) Bed sheets had STAINS. So the review by others are correct.4) Hotel located next to ferry terminal so you can hop on the ferry to Tomok or Tuk Tuk at Samosir Island. However, please be warned that there is no timetable/fixed schedule. Rate was given to us IDR25k return ticket per pax (I think locals get it cheaper maybe?). Hold on to the ticket for your return. At your return to Parapat, you have to ask the people at the Tomok Jetty which boat can carry you back to your hotel, while crazily showing the ferry ticket to the people. They will try to find a ferry to get you back to your hotel. For us, it took us 30 minutes before we can get on the right boat. Tomok is overrated. The Batak Museum, the tomb, the show are all overrated. There were many stalls there to shop but that's about it. Most items found there can be bought at other places across Indonesia. 5) No wifi, TV reception was good though. 6) Bfast was just toast or fried rice/instant noodles - no complaints there since it's just a 2 star hotel. 7) In Parapat, there is nothing really to do. So if you're into peace & quiet and into finishing your novel, then Lake Toba is the place for you. Also, there were blaring noise from Karaoke sessions until wee hours of the morning.But everything is really clean, even the toilet near the Batak Museum.We were travelling as 5 adults and 4 children on a Suzuki ATV to the airport at IDR600k. From Medan, we had a Kia Pregio at IDR1million, just to give an idea of how much it costs us.

A pleasant place to stay for a day or two. The drawback is there is no fan in the room. One may have to endure the stuffy condition in the room at certain hours of the day. Hotel owner, an 89-year-old ethnic Chinese, was fun to talk to.

Strategic Place to Explore Parapat”

Most recreational place of Parapat is located within easy walking distance from the hotel in a fresh and natural environment. Guests will immediately sense the cleanliness, the simplicity and the natural touch upon arriving at the hotel. They also have private ferry to take the guest to Samosir island

hotel with a nice lake and mountain view”

This hotel is a bit further in from the jetty but it is still within walking distance. The great thing about the hotel is the great lake and mountain (caldera) view. Breakfast was reasonble. Will consider staying there again.

excellent...value for money”

Everything is excellent. We come in a group of three families with kids below ten years old and one single friend. We are happy with a condition of the hotel, especially the location, the view and the surrounding. The breakfast is just a'fried rice', but it's really satisfied us. It was very delicious.

enjoy the view of sunset and sunrise near the lake toba. the location of hotel is the best but the hotel need to improve the facilities also bedrooms. bathroom hot water need to repair..difficult to adjust

Good location but very noisy”

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days to explore Lake Toba and some interesting places in Samosir island such as Tuktuk and Tomok. The room is quite small but quite comfy beds. The shower didn't work well and we made a complaint but the staff didn't do anything. The location is near with the lake,but this place is not comfortable to sleep and to relax since so many guests who made a lot of noise and hotel staffs who played music loudly in the day. The hotel consists of some rooms with a terrace in each room and this makes hotel like a boarding house where other people do not need to care with other people who need some sleep at night. It was very noisy and loud at night. I don't think I want to go back to stay in this hotel.

lovely scenery”

No public transport to be taken as far as I am concern. Moving from the hotel to other place is a bit difficult, unless we can hire a taxi every time we want to go anywhere. The climate is cool, the scenery is amazing. It is just that there's nothing much here to keep the place happening. I recommend it for people who wants to have leisure and relaxing trip.

Great location by the lake”

The hotel was good enough for the price but do be prepared for the lack of hot water. Also, since we arrived late at night, the restaurant was closed and there was no food available within walking distance. The breakfast was simple fare and not impressive.

Great location and rates”

The location is great, especially the lake view from the room balcony itself, can take great pictures without going out from the hotel. Please ask for high floors. The breakfast is so-so, need to ask for the toilet rolls, no shampoo in room, no aircon since the temperature is low at night, however it is too warm to stay in the room during the afternoon. The room feature is simple, but ok for the rate paid.
