Good location”

Hotel is located in the heart of BKK1. I wish they would reinstate the glass sliding door to the shower cubicle to prevent water spillage, and to repair/maintain the rooftop steam room. Other than that, it's all good.

Hotel safe and clean”

Depend on the timing, it takes about 45 minutes in peak hour from airport. All front office staffs including concierge speak simple English. Surrounding the hotel , plenty of local western restaurant ( pizza , starbuck etc ) and Malaysia style cook restaurant. You can have your currency change with reception. Is very convenient to go around the places . Only 5 minutes tutuk ride to Nagaworld, 15 minutes to Central market and Russian market. Hot and cold shower no issue. You can dip inside swimming pool and have drinks at the sky bar . Will be back again.

Everything was excellent except the Coffee”

Great room, great facilities, great staff. Just stay away from the coffee that is served with breakfast, it's terrible. Fortunately there is a Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Brown's, and several other coffee shops nearby.

Great Location, Helpful Staff”

Great location, with tuk tuks outside waiting for guests to hire them. Staff helped us to check on prices with them. There's a really good eatery just next next door, called Mok Mony, owner able to speak English and Mandarin, worth a try. Many cafes and donut shops just around the corner too. Only thing is the lift was a little slow (too many floors) with only 1 lift, and there're stairs to walk up to hotel entrance. I wouldn't bring my mum here cos she has knees prob, can't take stairs. Breakfast was ok and room was pretty big for the price I paid. Rooftop bar looks sad and the pillars at the rooftop obstructed the view. Pool looks exactly like the pics, except that the pillars really don't fit.

Cannot improve”

We’re reserving there again this year. No complaints, but some guests might possibly be annoyed by construction noise in the area. Still, construction is next to impossible to avoid in desirable neighborhoods, so the hotel is as close to ideal as anyone can get. I recommend it highly.

After check in the hotel on first day, I find no complimentary bottles of wáter are available in the room and a hanger is hanged at the bath room. So, room cleaning standard was not the level of expectation for 1st day.

Staff are all exellent.somewhat noble svc. Breakfast is also tasty.1.5km away from riverside.In summer hard to walk.

Value for money , clean and safe”

No regrets stay in Phnom Penh Katari Hotel. Safety and clean. Almost all the staff speaks good English. Mr Piseth , always appear to extend help when needed although he is the concierger. All personnel perform well which includes the kitchen staff. Andy L.

Good Stay”

- Was upgraded to the Jr Suite. We did not have chance to enjoy it, though, because we arrived late and have to check-out early the next morning. - Location was good, walking distance to lots of coffee shops and restaurants - Place ia a bit old but properly maintained. - Good and friendly staffs

Friendly place for short stay”

Checkin was easy as booking was made via Agoda. The receptionist and concierge personnel can understand English . Less than 10 mins to Riverside and less than 5 minutes to Aeon mall and Naga World. There are few standby tuk-tuk just opposite the hotel . Hotel condition is ok . Security is good .

Excellent service and facilities”

Service was excellent from the moment we pulled up to the door. Staff is proficient in English and go above and beyond to be helpful. Facilities were excellent- rooftop pool and bar and sauna located in the changing room. The free breakfast was extensive, though I would not recommend the hotel food for lunch and dinner as there are many other options available in the neighborhood. Angkor Spa is two blocks away and worth the visit. Will be staying here again.

Seen better days”

The hotel is fine. It’s clean, and in a good part of the city, it’s just getting very dated on the inside. Maybe very high end for 1988, but it could use an update. I was upgraded to a Jr Suite, which was nice, but the furniture in there was unusable. So uncomfortable. Also, the water never got warmer than “cool,” which is generally fine in such a hot city, but sometimes you want a hot shower.

Asian style business hotel”

The Katari hotel was a good choice for us for a 3 night stay in Phnom Penh. It‘s located in BKK1 which is a pretty hip district with lots of coffee shops and little shops, pretty close to many of the sights. We stayed in a corner room (Junior Suite I believe) on the 8th floor and the room was extremely large, had a nice view of the city and the bed was comfortable. The room however smelled ever so faintly of smoke, despite being a non smokers room. The gym at the hotel is small but located on the 13th floor with a nice view over the city. The pool set up is nice with some sun beds and also a nice view from the 12th floor. Good restaurants nearby, so we didn‘t eat at the hotel. Breakfast was fine, with hot and cold, Asian and Western options. Only negative at breakfast was the fact that two TVs were running simulatiously on different channels which made it hard to have a conversation.

Decent Hotel”

Only 2 matters to highlight: 1. Lightings can be improved, shade too dark for room light (inadequate probably the right word) 2. Breakfast especially bread and dairy section could be improved. Yoghurt and bacon could be added. After 3 days we decided to eat at Brown’s cute selection repetitive.

Nice getaway - would love staying again”

1. Receptionist/check-in - hassle free. will not ask you for any deposit whatsoever and accommodate you even at wee hours. Unlike other hotels who allowed additional person without additional charge but just pay for breakfast cost, it is still acceptable. 2. Security - you cannot operate the lift without your room card but hey, it just feels safe knowing that no non-guest can roam around the hotel. 3. Facilities - we've tried the pool. Taste salty like any other hotel pool but so water is so cold. It would be interesting though if there's a sauna pool type rather than room type. But still pool is fantastic for us. Gymn and other facilities we have not tried using during our stay. 4. Room - comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the softness of their pillow.

Almost a "10"”

I've stayed here a few times. Love the location which has both local as well as western cuisine nearby. Outdoor pool has a structure that only allows partial sun so don' count on getting either a tan or sunburn! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Exercise equipment could be upgraded to provide a few more upper body machines. TV's at pool and exercise room apparently require a secret code to get them to turn on. Plenty of tuk-tuks right outside the door and a top scale fitness gym with 30m pool located just around the corner for $15 per day and provides more robust equipment to augment Katari. Rooms are clean but separate showeres are a bit small for XL size & up.

High quality hotel in a convenient location”

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay in this comfortable, quiet (for Phnom Penh) hotel. Breakfast had a good variety and was relatively tasty. The main downside was the annoying elevator/ security system. The elevator required a room key card to operate, which is fine for one person in one room. If there are two people and only one card (our situation), be prepared for a lot of stairs. Or try to get another card:. Would stay here again...feels like 3.5-4 stars at 3 star price.
