From Agoda photos we expected a dated property but surprisingly well maintained, Right at the center of Quanzhou old city with shopping F&B public transport.... we booked 2 rooms and paid each ( USD 80) for the tower block rooms but was given DONG HUI section, older section from other reviews. But the Superior Business rooms given didnt disappoint. Excellent and comfy bed, quilt and pillows. Modern with separate shower and bath sections. Upgraded Bathroom was very well presented. China styled 5 star class. I saw 4 hotel restaurants but didnt try the offerings due to short stay. Check in was longer than usual Western standards . Lobby was vast and very spacious. Service staff was good and prompt in assistance. well trained. I will stay here again For travellers who love activity vibrant city with people milling around...stay here...Jinjing new town is further. Tip - gold buggy public transport for RMB 2, will take you to all city tourist sights

The room was not clean enough. The peripheral part of the toilet was not cleaned after the last visitor used it. We thought it was not a big deal so did not call the cleaner to deal with it. But then strong smelling appeared the day after. The ventilation system is poor. When we got into bed, we found the room was quite hot. We turned the temperature of the air conditioner to 20°C. However, the room temperature kept as 25-26°C. It was even higher than that of outside. We tried to open the window instead of using air conditioning. The window could barely opened a small gap.

Everyone here is friendly and helpful....in particular I like the conceirge service, Mr Ting and housekeeping are all excellent...happy to have stayed here and will come back soon! The only thing is the poor gym but then I can understand, this is not very important to the majority of the people who stayed there. Overall, a very happy stay for me and my wife

Great Staff”

The rooms were clean and in good conditions except the beds were a bit soft. The hotel is a bit old but acceptable. The hotel staff was top class. One of them, upon obtaining permission from his superior, even offered to lead us to a temple nearby which had been far if the group of us were to walk the way tourists would. There was another incident when I asked the hotel restaurant if an elder in my group could sit on a hard chair in it while waiting for our guests, the staff readily agreed and brought us warm water without us asking. Attentive staff is their top asset.

When I checked -in, they requested deposit per night per room. This is ridicules! How I can spend and sign for a day as the breakfast is included. this is a typical local Chinese management hotel. Un-professional.The design of the hotel is weird. You have to go to the next building.....no covered....It was raining for breakfast and to the business centre. If they have no covered, they should have somebody to carry umbrellas to carry guests to the other biilding.

5 star hotel with a reasonable price”

The hotel is nearby the old town center, nearby some traditional buildings and a famous temple. Room is not big but clean and well managed. Price is reasonable.

The rooms are too dark and stuffy. I understand that it is winter but guest should have a choice to regulate the air conditioning instead of being told that it is only blowing wind instead of cold air. Windows could be opened but we were advice not to have them fully opened. Also the thick curtains kept the cool breeze from entering the room. Sleep was very affected by this.

The attention to detail in terms of personal service is marvellous.... 1) the fruit platter with 2 carefully selected local delicacies; and 2) i have placed some bedtime reading books on the table and the room service staff has written me a note on her observation, providing me with complimentary bookmark :)

From the checking in n out and the one night stay .. It’s been simply Fabulous !! Good location. Comfortable n clean rooms n bed. Staff were helpful n even with my limited Chinese n their limited English . It was easy to communicate. On checking out n upon learning that we need to get to the High speed train station ., they immediately booked a cab n Even offered an extra bottle of water for the trip. That’s call service n attentiveness. Will definitely be back to visit QuanZhou n stay at Quanzhou Hotel.
