Beautiful hotel ”
Absolutely beautiful hotel with a great view of Sydney. Great bar and restaurant too. The only issue was understaffed check in. I waited half an hour in the line to check in I a line that didn’t move. I had to leave for a meeting, so I couldn’t check in the first time. I checked in later and it also took about half an hour.

Staff was horrible”
My experience with the staff at the check in was horrible. I clearly remember this day when I checked in at the counter, this guy at the reception was unbelievably rude. He didn’t give me a smile, didn’t greet me and wanted to double charge for the night stay that I already paid online prior on arrival at the hotel. His name is Marco, When I told him that I already paid, he kept insisting that I haven’t, so I showed him my netbank transaction and an email from agoda that it was paid. He didn’t apologise and after paying my security deposit, he just turned me away saying my room wasnt ready and it was 3:30 pm already. I walked away from the counter confused. No receipts from the security deposit, nothing. He was very silent, rude and could not be bothered about his job. I would definitely not going to return to this hotel. I have stayed with Hilton, Swissotel and Fullerton Hotels Sydney, and their customer service was exceptional. For the price I paid at Shangri La, I should have never treated that way.

nicely situated in the heart of sydney cbd. we have not booked the best view because we didn’t notice it was in the options. next time we will book the sydney opera view :)

Three hours to check in ”
It took Three hours to check in... massive line up in lobby, missed my dinner reservation. Hotel manager showed little interest in resolving issue or compensating us for the terrible experience.

I love this hotel. All the staff are friendly and attentive, and doing what they can for their hotel during the pandemic. If you don't like heights, ask for a table away from the window if you go up to the restaurant on L36

The hotel was very clean, nice and staff very friendly. Hubby has had back operations so the walk back up the hill is hard for him.

If your using the valet parking make sure you either arrive well before of after your check in time. We had to wait 20min just to get into the front entrance.

The rooms and décor were flawless. The breakfast venue on the 36st floor had amazing views but $49 per hear for breakfast pushed us out of the building. Best recommendation was the level walk underground from Wynyard Park through the new underground air conditioned walkway to Bangaroo. where a multitude of cafes and eateries didn't disappoint.

Disappointment”
i was so excited to come to this hotel but was so disappointed in how the hotel was run. I was charged for valet parking when i didn't even use this service and we were told we had already checked out but we only just made it to the counter. The room was okay for the price, it was clean but the view was a let down. i had very high expectation but was so disappointed in it all. I wouldn't recommend any of my friends to come here at all.

Don’t normally post - stay regularly in range of hotels, but as this was meant to be a quality hotel and it was my anniversary- what was my experience? Long queues to book in, long queues to try and get into bar, couldn’t get table in restaurant, both of which had minimum charges. Breakfast was pretty bad as Luke warm - I think they just wanted to finish the service. Lack of staff meant car valet was a long time waiting. Check occupancy level before booking. If it’s high - don’t book it as they can’t cope

If you feel like staying in the hotel the whole time, do it. It was impossible to move from floor to floor due to the lack of elevators. If planning your trip to be somewhere give yourself 40 mins to get out of the hotel.

Good staycation ”
Was a lovely weekend stay. Check in was smooth and so was check out. We did an express check out on Sunday. Was nice they do late check outs on Sunday from 11am onward. On check in was easy. We we’re here for our wedding anniversary and the hotel gifted us some champagne and chocolates which was a really nice touch. Cause of Covid we were pre-Warned that the mini bar would be bare, some items will be missing such as glasses etc and also house keeping is minimal to minimise contact for Covid. Which made sense. However to our suprise our room was still cleaned after the first night which was good. We stayed in room 1208 harbour view / King room . Which over looked the harbour bridge side / observatory hill and opera house on the right. Location was good too we did a good walk around the rocks and to opera house. If you want to venture out just grab a light rail to the shops down QVB. We didn’t use the facilities or spa. However saw the gym / pool. Pool is smaller , gym is pretty fully equipped and impressive . We had drinks at the bar in level 36 which was a nice way to see some views up high If you’re lucky to be seated by the window. No booking needed, was first in first serve. Overall it was a nice good stay, great views and service was good. We didn’t need too much so we didn’t really ask much from the staff. peaceful weekend in the city in a classic hotel.
