Good location close to shopping but unfortunate Grand mall Tarakan opposite the hotel is closed down not in operation but fresh market is near Gusher plaza with bazaar type shopping about 15min walk from hotel. Hotel room clean n well furnished upto 3* standard, breakfast reasonable good, staff are friendly polite helpful from entrance, reception, room service, car park attendants. Will come back to this hotel in future. Many VIPs are lodging at this hotel too

The service a little bit slow, asked for a pair of slippers need 15 minutes, no buffet lunch, aircond is not cold, however i think that is the best hotel you can get in Tarakan, as other is more on motel type.

I like the hospitality that the hotel staffs treat & greet me like i am a regular. They take good care of my needs. The location is good, not far from the airport and the jetty for boats. It is nearby shopping area and food outlets. The hotel foods are okay buat it is better to change the breakfast menu, maybe in alternate days so that we don't have same foods for breakfast everyday.

As one of a well known global hotel, this hotel at Tarakan should reflecting the quality of Swiss bell hotel as in the other provinces or countries. Need renovation and quite lot of the old stuffs there. quite disappointing as it seems has no global competitors there..

Good location - best in town.”

There is a swimming pool which opens from 6am to 6pm. Would be nice to have a gym. Booked 7 rooms with breakfast but staff insisted that my rooms not entitle to breakfast as the heading said "Room Only" replied in a email. Was resolved later on in the evening as there is a column mentioning benefit includes breakfast.

A good hotel for transit in Tarakan”

We stay here for one night transit in Tarakan. The hotel is located not far from the airport, and it also provide airport shuttle by schedule. Breakfast is quite nice with variety of foods. The room itself is not so bad, but we see electric power down a few times during our stay, and we were stuck in the elevetor once..Not sure if it happens to this hotel only or surrounding area.

Great location and very comfortable hotel. I like the variaty of food and the food are delicious. Hotel staff are friendly and very hospitality. Im enjoying staying at this lovely hotel and i will come again next time.

Exceptional service”

Our stay was marred by a malfunctioning Mandiri Bank ATM located just outside the hotel, which ate my ATM card. Even though the hotel had no responsibility, the day manager Gatot P.Aribowo made extraordinary efforts to recover my card, drove us to the airport, refused to accept any tip and followed up with the bank several days later after we had left the hotel! Remarkable service! Also has a good breakfast again with a staff which goes out of its way to satisfy breakfast requests.

Big clean room, tasty breakfast”

we stayed for 1 night. everything was good. big clean room, tasty breakfast, helpful staff. but wi-fi is only in lobby that is very uncomfortable. and one more thing that spoiled a little bit our visit. we ordered transfer from airport, waited about 30 min but nobody came so we went by taxi. the girl on reception was very sorry and organized free transfer to the airport for the next day.

Best Hotel in Tarakan ”

we were traveling in and around tarakan for several days (to derawan and back again to tarakan, then to sebatik and back once more to tarakan). over the course of our travels we stayed at several hotels in tarakan and then decided to treat ourselves to the swiss-belhotel for the last few nights. it is by far the best hotel in tarakan! the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the beds are immense. we had the in-room massage service which was very enjoyable. the breakfast buffet filled us up for the day. i was also extremely impressed with the very helpful staff at the hotel and the manager was even kind enough to upgrade our booking to a deluxe room. after this delightful experience, we tried the swiss-belhotel in samarinda which was a real disappointment in comparison. although newer and more modern, the rooms were quite small and the front desk staff was quite unfriendly. if in tarakan, though, be sure to stay at the swiss-belhotel. well worth it!

i came here last year to see where my father fought the japanese in the war i found australian war monument there that was in need of repair so i came back this year to renovate the monument and stay at swiss hotel again i found this hotel and the management and staff to be the best i have stayed anywhere in the world without a doubt

i think it is the best hotel in town. it was situated at the great location and with good service.

Location and staff is outstanding, but the cleanness of the room is really bad, specially the carpet of the room. When I walk with bear foot I feel the dust and after a while make my foot palm dark.”

What I like about the hotel, the staff from top till bottom they are friendly, helpful, and always warm with their good attitude. I will be back to this hotel only because of them. But my suggestion please clean the room properly I found a lot of dust under the bed, behind the cabinet and cables are not well organised. I can understand this is an old hotel maybe it will be helpful to the image of swiss bel if the just can maintain the cleanliness of the room. If renovating is to expensive maybe they can start with small details in the room like I mentioned above. Dust is the big problem !
