The lift has an interesting mannerism or is that mechanism plus it was guess which light switch would work in the bedroom other than the breakfast provided was more than ample and it suited our requirements for an overnight stay

Curious arrangement with light switches, I had to ask how to switch them on. Didn’t manage to get hot water in the shower even after running it for a time. Otherwise very comfortable, quiet.

Cozy hotel with a character”
My wife and I stayed a night here. The hotel was very cozy and had a distinct character. Felt like we went back in time which is a nice thing. The staff were very helpful. We stayed in the winter and the room got pretty warm since the heating was working probably overtime. The room and the bathroom was super clean and well stocked. The complimentary breakfast was good as well. Definitely a good place to stay if you’re in the area.

A decent hotel at a reasonable price. Only negative point is that they have a function room which seems to be regularly used at weekends so have had noisy guests returning to their rooms late at night. A good breakfast and rooms are clean with good facilities.

Fantastic place”
Stayed 1 night before flight. Room the 3 adults not the biggest but ok. 1x double, and 1 single, bathroom ect. Left coffee and tea items, at night had a great meal. My wife is celiac but they made sure things are right. She had the sunday dinner. They made her the gravy, Breakfast the same made sure everything right, when we fly again we will be returning. Staff very freindly and helpful a really pleasant stay and you will be seeing us again. Thank you

Lumpy bed. Noise from boiler firing up all night long. Looked out over the rubbish bins where the rubbish was emptied at midnight. If staying there avoid room 106

Good pub and breakfast”
Pub area was great - nice decor. Lovely breakfast. Good sized room. But a bit tired. Shower was awkward - shower screen not big enough so water all over floor.

Tired but comfy ”
The room was comfy although decor tied. Nice nescafe machine in the room as well as a kettle and choices of tea etc. Mixer bath and shower tap so hand held shower. Shame it was not a fixed shower with shower curtain. Breakfast was average but very tasty sausages 😋. All acceptable for the price I paid to stay the night. Staff were all friendly and smiling. There is a small lift as well as stairs and free parking for hotel guests. Good location.

Really good hotel, nice and clean very friendly staff, very good breakfasts. Very good location , literally minutes walk from bars and restaurants in town centre, definitely coming back and recommend to others.

I checked into the hotel. The lift was really old and only fit myself and my small suitcase in it and I didn’t feel too safe so I didn’t use it again. The room and bathroom were very dated. The sash window didn’t stay up so I had to try and keep it open a small amount with a bit of plastic to get some fresh air in the room. The window opened very wide if you wanted to and being 3 stories up it’s very high. I wouldn’t recommend the room with any children because of this. I discovered a large stain on the bedding and reported this to reception who said if you have left your window open it will have been a pigeon as they frequently fly in and Poo in the rooms. Yuck!! The lady changed my bedding. The shower wasn’t great as the holder was broken. Not a great stay and I wouldn’t stay here again.

Staff very pleasant, rooms although upgraded still wasn’t upto standard. Sink falling off the wall, shower sent water flooding the floor. Bath had a big chip in it, room very hot we were on the top floor fan was supplied unfortunately we do not like the noise of it. Not a very comfortable stay.

very good value for money. If I have a criticism it was that breakfast was a bit lacklustre. However it was include in the price of the stay, which was very reasonable

Never been in this part of England. To find somewhere so pleasant is a bonus. Room good, staff very helpful, parking good and the price very reasonable. Breakfast very good.
