Kitűnő”
We had a lot of difficulties to change a mistake in the booking. We wanted a room for 2 persons for 2 nights and they charged us 2 rooms for 2 nights and for 4 persons. We had to coal AGODA in Hong Kong two times to change the booking.
Felt like royalty”
Stay in a palace.
Luxurious rooms”
The rooms and grounds are very luxurious and a lovely escape from the busy streets. Dinner & breakfast was included in our room rate however the food was not great. A strange mix of European and Indian in the Thali dinner, tomato soup and breakfast was almost forced on us. It was a terrible waste of food to serve items we specifically did not want. Overall a nice stay
Amazing Stay”
Extremely hospitable staff, they went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. Really enjoyed our meals at this hotel.
Worst Place we stayed in India”
The entrance to the hotel is fairly smart and we were greeted with six beaming wide eyed smiles from the overstaffed reception. We were then impressively drummed in, across the lawn area, by two porters in traditional Rajasthan regalia. After being given the standard welcome drink we were shown to our room. This was quite spacious and grand but dark and only had one very small window which overlooked tin roofs. We asked if we could have a better room which the hotel duly obliged and we were moved to a room with two larger windows overlooking the courtyard. The furnishings look traditional but upon closer inspection we noticed how tired and worn everything was. The bed sheets were clean were n but well past their use by date. The shower head was semi blocked and needed a major descale causing the water to spray sideways and flood the bathroom floor. The whole place just did not feel fresh and could do with a major refurbishment. The outside pool was sited in the shade, not heated
Definitely a great experience, although frustrating at times ”
This is an actual royal palace converted into an hôtel, it has a lot of charm. Some details (where the devil is) I found very frustrating, that require very little improvement to make it perfect: - they do not leverage their historical background, this building his part of the city’s heritage, and they don’t emphasis on it. We asked several times for a tour of the facility, and until the end the answer was “we will ask if it can be done”... 1) it should be part of the welcome 2) we should not have to beg for an straight answer (reception desk I’m looking at you) - the bar is more a place where you “can” have a drink: fridges are apparent on the side of the room, no real atmosphere, etc... whilst all the potential is there. - electro music in the (gorgeous) dining room? Really? - breakfast is quite lame for a SLH: poor quality products. - beautiful bathroom ruined by a cheap plastic toilet paper dispenser - and so on with other things... I RECOMMEND THE PLACE!!!
Not so luxurious for money we paid ”
Our family holiday was almost spoiled because of issues faced at the property. They gave us a Historical room upon check in , but within 1 hour we had 3 times power failure?? The GM was kind to upgrade us to a better room But the fixtures and basic amenities were not up to the mark. We were given a smelling plastic water kettle in our room?? Every time you ask for water, towels, coffee / milk powder it takes 15-25 mins ?? However once you complain they act quickly. The Restuarant staff is excellent and overall team very friendly. But the value for money and not at all Luxurious
Excellent hotel - live in a palace”
Excellent hotel, a real touch of history, pricey but worth it
Should be a 3* at most ”
Nothing of a luxury hotel. I wonder when was the last time the SLH staff came to visit ...
Wonderful and charming hotel!”
The hotel was amazing and the service was phenomenal. We had such a wonderful time staying at this charming palace in Jaipur. I would definitely recommend!!
The place is divine”
Superb service, great food, amazing place, worths every single penny, would love to come back there. If you go to Jaipur this is the place to stay, it's simply a must. You are being treated like a maharajah there. Rooms are beautiful and unique. It's an experience one of a kind
Gem in the city”
Wow . What a wonderful palace near city. Staff is truly amazing. Enjoyed just spending time at hotel . Felt like maharaja. I had 2 rooms but was upgraded to suite without asking. The lady manager was great with connecting room. Hugh private balcony.
Gorgeous place, redolent with history”
We so enjoyed our stay at the Raj. The staff was charming and attentive. The grounds were magnificent. The Indian food was the best we had on our trip--terrific! The marble floors were gorgeous and diverse, so many different patterns to enjoy. The palace unfolds in multiple directions, wherever you walk you see something new. We particularly appreciated the view at dusk--lavender sky full of paper kites and birds. Magical!
Everything good except wifi”
Excellent hotel, service was great except wifi which was extremely slow or non working
Luxury as we expected.”
Lovely welcome. Beautiful room, very large, delightfully furnished with all sorts of antique furniture and decorations. Lovely pool. Fantastic bathroom with a bath for the tired traveller. Possibly the best dinner we had in India in an incredible dining room - absolutely amazing with the most excellent service and the most delicious food. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide choice. We would recommend this hotel absolutely. Thank you to all staff - you were all so helpful. Stay here. It is gorgeous and the service is excellent. Also read the history of this hotel. Happy travelers from Australia.
Awesome place to spend holidays. The best experience ever since I have been traveling. ”
The best part was Mr. Narinder. He was always with smiles and folded hands in service of us. He made our stay memorable.
Fabulous Hotel, slightly loud in the morning”
I don't know what I was expecting, but the Raj Palace exceeded my expectations. They turned our 2 rooms into a suite by changing the adjoining doors and halls and it was a beautiful, comfortable set of rooms. It's a bit of a maze (being a renovated old palace) but it was a little like staying in a tourist attraction. The kitchen was OK, not fabulous, but adequate for our travel-worn purposes. There's a puppeteer who performs (for tips) in the evening in the courtyard. There were only three downsides: 1) it was a bit pricier than many other similarly luxurious hotels we stayed at in India (including the Taj in Delhi); 2) the dawn call to prayer from the mosque(?) next door was very loud. I slept through it 2/3 mornings, and I suspect just how loud it is depends on where precisely your room is; 3) We were originally booked for 2 nights and because of the vagaries of travel planning, I changed the reservation for 4 nights total, booked and prepaid at least 3 weeks in advance. The change in the booking never did catch up to us, and it was a good thing that I had printed the final reservation on paper to hand to them or we would have been charged for an additional night. I really can't say enough good things about the staff, and it was a fabulous stay.
Living on past glories”
I read many wonderful reviews about the hotel and really wanted to like it. I read about how guests were treated like maharajahs etc, and apart from the day we checked in (by a very nice staff called Gaurav) the rest of our stay was pretty ho hum. Sure the hotel is beautiful etc, but i never once felt like more than a paying guest and i can easily get that kind of feeling in any other 5 star hotel. I expected to be pampered but i did not think i was given any kind pf special treatment in any way. Which is too bad because it could all have been so different. As it is, I can only conclude that this hotel is only living on its past reputation and I cannot give it my fullest endorsement. If it is a beautiful old property you are after, then this hotel fits the bill perfectly. Apart from that, dont expect too much.
Felt like Royalty”
We absolutely loved our stay at The Raj Palace. Jaipur is quite dirty and smelly then you walk though the gate to the Raj and its a little paradise. The restaurant is incredible everything we ordered was delicious. It was a bit out of our price range to eat a big meal every night but that is to be expected at a 5 star hotel. Walking distance to the Pink City but there isn't many restaurants nearby so options are limited. The rooms are really nice and large. We took advantage of the pool and fitness centre also. Excellent hotel!
Excellent hotel with wonderful staff”
Really good experience. Beautiful room with excellent equipment. However the dinner was not very tasty and this was the only bad thing.
