Fantastic view and location, breakfast great. ”

6 days there, staff ok, I had Chinese friend to speak for me, but not very helpful regards tours and cultural shows. We had already booked a driver and car to see local groups . When we started to make arrangement for a cruise and going to a night show, a Chinese person came and told him , he had spent to much time with us and do something else and they both walked off and left us standing at the counter. ( my friend of course understood what they said) . It seems the staff have no local knowledge of what's available only what limited brochures they use. When we finally booked a day trip, especially for snorkelling and swimming. It was a boat only for diving, no beach and if you wanted , swim from the boat and very difficult to climb back on board. I mean what 65 year old person with no experience going to use a tank with only a 15 minute briefing on how to use the equipment. My friend only 25 years and not feel it safe enough, I would be very surprised if anyone saw fish , given the man made area we were in.

Sea view was great”

You can just chill at the pool and enjoy the sea view. Great service staff that can advice you any time any where. Only thing is that not a lot of food nearby.

Hotel witha Great View”

(1) Old Hotel. (2) Hotel staff can bearly understand english. For a non-mandarin speaking personal, it is very inconvenient. (3) On my second night the air-conditioning unit start rumbling like an age-old washing machine, a while later, it started leaking like a tap. The hotel technician took more than 2 hours to fix the problem yet the hotel management didn't propose to change a room for me...utterly disappointed. (4) For the price that was paid, I got better rooms in Qiong Hai, Hai Kou, Shao Guang and Guangzhou. Honestly, at least 20 times better quality and service. (5) Totally not recommeneded.

nice location but old rooms”

the hotel has several buildings. we booked two rooms without knowing that they are in seperat buildings. the delux building was pretty nice, with view on the bay and large rooms. the normal building was kind of old and small. the staff was not very helpful, especially in the concergerie.

Bad Service, Construction, bad dollar value”

-hard to get a double bed for us. -interent was not free (30 rmb/day) -food was expensive and pretty poor quality -TV was old and fuzzy -Toilet in our first room didnt flush (we moved rooms, which wasnt easy) -check out was easy for us, but we saw that it was difficult for others

Odd hotel in a strange location”

The Royal Garden is almost uniquely odd. The location is good, though not great. A walk to beach is a 10 minute downhill climb. A walk to the The pool(s) are small, cold, and sufficient. The restaurants are acceptable, though staffed by incompetents of the highest order.

Great clean hotel and good service. ”

Staff were helpful, rooms very clean, very impressed with the sea view, but not many options for breakfast, and near to none for vegetarians. The hotel restaurants are empty at dinner time so the beach strip is the better option for food. The further away from the beach you go the cheaper the food and drinks get.

one of the worst hotels i ever stayed”

hotel rooms is too small , compared prices with other hotels in the area. location is some far from shops , and restorants. stuff was not friendly with very limited english skills.

the hotel's main building is old. the price is too high for this standard. the breakfast is very bad in western standard. not even coffee. the vip building is very nice, the gym and pool is located here.

I would say, the overall stay is good and is really relaxing which is better than I expected. Good service from the reception and give good directional and instruction when asked. Really appreciate their sincerity. Room rate and things there are a bit more costly than other part of china.

What a pleasant surprise”

I had never been to Hainan before so did not know what to expect. On booking this hotel, I made the decision to opt for a deluxe room and I was really pleased that I did. The room that we had was actually on two floors; the lower floor being a living area complete with kitchen dining room and lounge. The upper floor featured a bedroom, office area and an absolutely huge bathroom. Each floor had a balcony and the views were fantastic. The hotel arranged for a car and driver at a cost of only 100 Rmb for each day. We ate in the retaurant on two evenings and found that the food and service were really good. Also, the breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice and the opportunity to eat overlooking the infinity pool stretching out towards the bay. A great hotel with great staff.

Simple but good and convenient”

The hotel is split into several neighbouring buildings. The pool is located at the highest building w a great view. Beach is 5 mins walk, and they also have shuttle golf cars to and from the beach. Rooms are nice standard, clean. Aircondition didnt work, but after a call to frontdesc, it was fixed immediately. Great ocean view from our balcony. Not all employees were English speaking, but enough were to make it not a problem. Very friendly staff, junior manager (who also spoke German) was a great help for anything. All in all great value, and if I want to stay close to Sanya beach (Dadonghai bay)another time, I would have no hesitation in staying here again. In fact, I think I would choose to do so.

ok hotel and location”

Hotel is next to Dadonghai beach which is far nicer than the bigger beach in front of Sanya city. The hotel was ok, but the pictures in Agoda were only from the new, very nice, VIP building, and our rooms were in an older building. Also the pool is at the new building. This was a disappointment since the older buildings are not something you expect from a 4 star hotel. Also the breakfast at the 'old' building was very simple, not much for a European or for a vegetarian. There was better breakast at the VIP building, although it cost a little more. You can't say many good comments about the restaurant in the VIP building, since they cannot make drinks they have in the list, and also many of the foods were a disappointment.

Понравился отдых в отеле Sanya Royal Garden Resort. Во врем спуска к морю пользовались шаттлом или дорожкой, идущей вниз к морю через соседний отель. Хороший район для бюджетного отдыха. Отличное сочетание цена-качество.
