Great location, near great restaurants and historic gay bars. We had a wonderful time. The doorman always got us a taxi with the push of a button each time we needed one to go uptown. Tho' traffic was bad, so I'd suggest the subway or a citi-bike if you don't want to spend a fortune on taxis. We loved the Deluxe Qn room, I used the tub every night. It's a very cozy European style hotel, and we loved that especially for Christmas. The bar was nice, and Alex was friendly at Happy HR! We also had brunch & early dinner in the restaurant, service and food was wonderful, and 10% off for guests too. The servers were very efficient and friendly each time, as were the staff at front desk. It was also the weekend, then a Mon Holiday so we got to park for free 3 days right out front! Bonus!
Great independent hotel in an interesting and eclectic area of New York”
I found the Washington Square Hotel on agoda after a lot of research about where to stay in New York. It’s one of the few independent hotels in New York and I love that. The staff were so friendly and room, although small was super clean, had a comfy bed, a decent shower and free tea and coffee. Located just off Washington Square it’s conveniently located for all parts of Manhattan - as long as you are prepared with decent footwear and regular snack and beverage pit stops - it’s a good hour's walk to central park. Lots of nearby restaurants and Washington square is completely crazy and fun with daily spontaneous performances from both performing arts university students and local talent. (Washington square is located within the university of NY campuses). It would have been nice to have breakfast included considering the price. However, we would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Welcoming and convenient hotel”
We just had a great stay at the Washington square hotel. Brilliantly located on the corner of Washington Square park, a lovely area to explore on foot and very convenient for the subway if you want to go 'Uptown' to Central Park, or 'downtown' to the World Trade Centre etc. Very near New York University so lots of great restaurants and cafes in the area and a buzzing atmosphere. Our room had everything we needed, a comfortable bed, lots of hot water and towels and cleaned every day. Rooms in New York tend to be small and this was no exception but very well laid out and with plenty of storage space for a week's stay.

Stayed 2 nights in a room with 2 twin beds (as requested). The hotel felt safe, everyone was friendly. It has a ton of character but is still clean and well run. Room was very quiet at night. Luggage was stored for us before and after our stay between flights. Easy access to multiple subway lines and an easy trip from LGA
