If you are 4 people with 2 young child, order 2 people set is enough for dinner. We ordered 4 people, we could not finish all of them.

Hot spring hotel”
The room was spartan but clean. There is a tub in the bathroom with hot spring water. The spring water is a little weird as it leaves a oily feel on the skin. The hot spring water didn’t smell of sulfur or anything like that. The dinner is a steamboat (hotpot dinner) which was so so. No where else to eat in that area. Breakfast was typical Taiwanese. Some porridge and salted veg. The check in clerk was stand-offish even though we could speak mandarin with him. I would bother to return to this places. It wasn’t a bad experience but neither was it a great one either.

Quite disappointed with staff service attitude as they don’t provide any flexibility for family/kids”
Although the location was surrounded by mountains, their buildings with Quadra rooms have no view at all as it was blocked by another building for honeymoon suites. The nearby visiting sites are closed so not many things to do if you are staying overnight. We were with 3 kids and one of them is infant and we drove from Taipei and would need to seek for early check in so kids can rest and change diaper but they showed no flexibility and we ended up checking in with tons of packages at 3:55 pm. The sound proof was bad and lights everywhere in the room that we couldn’t sleep well. In a nutshell, we were very disappointed.

Acceptable”
Hotel room’s very old and dirty, toilet bowl has some black stuff, obviously isn’t brush it! The room has moldy smell and some cobweb , toilet paper so wet. If the person walked the corridor, you can clear sound its in the room. If the person open the hot waters switch, just like earthquakes in the room. If you want to sleep, you always clear sound voice . Bay the way, the waiter attitude so crappy. Finally I advise , If you want to soak spa in Tai’ an city ,pays more money to change your travel quality and value.

A hotel surrounded by beautiful nature”
We came to Tai'an to experience hot springs and chose Hu Shan Hot Spring Hotel because it was in the more cheaper end. The surrounding area was beautiful, lots of forests and mountains. We had dinner and breakfast in the venue, the food was Taiwanese and great. The hot springs area was quite small, but the pools were warm and clean. There was one staff member who could speak good English and he was very helpful. We got a lift the day we left to Sherpan national park, which was a nice plus.

Very friendly team managing a good scenic hotel”
We arrived at night, parked, and realized we had to go over a suspended bridge over a river to make it to the hotel! We were very warmly welcomed although English was not our host's most comfortable language. This added to the genuineness of the whole experience. The room was of good size, with two queen size beds, and a bathroom equipped with a hot spring bathtub in stone. Amenities were as usual: tea, coffee, water, toiletries... Beds (mattresses and pillows) were of good quality although on the hard side for the mattress. Breakfast was only Chinese (no choice of Western) with lots of different fresh-made juices to drink. Team was extremely friendly and tried to communicate as much as possible with us! Also, we were allowed to enjoy the hot spring spa area as a couple since we went late in the evening. This exception granted to us made a nice end of the day as the hot springs are warm and relaxing.

hu shan hotel is the oldest hot spring hotel in that area. though old, it is well maintained. it is situated on a small piece of land in the middle is a wide stream. the view from the dining area is fantastic as you get to enjoy the view of the mountains surrounding you. to get there, you'll need to walk on a hanging bridge. good experience!

Beautiful scenery and superb hotspring!”
since we did not have our own car, arriving there was a little time consuming. we took a taxi and it took ages to get there. there aren't much amenity around if you do not have a car. however, there is a strawberry picking place in a short walking distance and view on the way was so great! i really enjoyed the hot spring in a room as well!!! hot spring water was somewhat very special, it felt like a moisturizer contained. if you are looking for something unusual and love hot spring, would not mind going to a remote place, then i highly recommend this place.

Cool view and nice hot springs”
We were the only customers in this hotel and it was really quiet and relaxing. I took a family room but obviously all the roms seems to be the same its no point to pay for a more expensive room. The hotel has 3 indor hot spring pools and 1 outdoor pool. one is cold, one is medium warm and one is hot about 41 to 43 degrees. The food in the hotel was also pretty good and very cheap. Getting to this hotel is quite difficult if you dont have a car, luckily our friend drove us here. You have to cross a small narrow bridge to get here. we took a massage at the hotel but it wasnt very good.

A perfect get away for relaxation”
A perfect get away for relaxation. The place is located in remote area where no taxi, no buses passes on the area itself. But you can arrange a pick.up from the hotel. Alex is very friendly that send us back and fort to our destination within the area. He is always on the go after receiving our call to pick us up. The hotel is in a very quiet adventure place where you can enjoy your hot spring bath. The hotel offer for dinner like hot pot and we really enjoyed cooking ourselves.

Nice location but run down”
This place is out in the country side. You get fresh mountain air and great views all the way in. Most of the staff is attentive and friendly. Service is personal. The owner turns up now and then for a chat. The set dinner is rather good. We had dinner in 2 nights in a row (see comment about driving at night & suspension bridge) and the chef tailored the menu for us so we were not eating the same food. I really appreciated that. The buildings are surrounded by trees and shrubs. I felt very close to nature with the birds chirping right outside. The mountain road is a bit of a deterrent if you are planning to be out late or if you are not into driving along narrow roads. In one instant, we were caught behind a bus which met an oncoming bus and was stuck. It can be scary for some as the two vehicles tried to maneuver along the narrow road to get through. The hotel is actually situation on an island in the middle of the river. Other regular guests shared that they have taken their kids down to the river for a paddle. It sounds nice but when we were there the water level was very low. You get to the island via a suspension bridge. It is fun at first but gets scary when it is dark and you are trying to get 3 kids across. The bridge is lit but it is definitely not my preference. The location boast Taian, boasts of hot springs. There is a spa with hot pools. I found it really run down and unhygienic (read 'reeks of urine'). We opted to give it a skip. The kids had a soak in the little stone bath in the bathroom. The water is not as hot as some of the hot springs I have been and feels soapy. There is a water dispute ongoing. Some taps have no water in the evening. By morning, the toilets don't flush. It can get pretty messy. The management has let the place go a little over the years. The furniture and drapes are old and dreary. The location - on an island in the middle of a river, is special but I won’t return unless the place is upgraded.

Interesting Hotel”
I'm kinda in 2 minds about this hotel. For the price I paid, I wouldn't complain but if I had a chance, I might pay more to stay at a better hotel. Getting to the hotel is interesting. You had to walk across a bridge. The grounds looked a little unkempt and could do with a sprucing up. But it has it's old world charm. And I heard that the spa is the best as they have their own source/pipe as opposed to the other hotels that share a source/pipe. I'm not sure how much difference that would make. It was nice to soak in the spa on a cold day. Food was good. We ordered a hotpot that was so huge, it fed 2 adults and 3 young kids. Rice was free flow. Breakfast was the usual fare. Ample but nothing to crow about. All in all, nice place to stay but not really relaxing to me. Nothing to do with the hotel but I realised most spas I went to in Taiwan really needs to work on the bathing and changing facilities.

Lovely hotel in the middle of the lake ”
Overall the stay was good, as it felt quite special that we have to cross a long bridge in order to get to the hotel. The room is clean and decent. The hotel uses the hot spring water in their bathroom. Dinner at the restaurant only cost us NT250 for a couple. Excellent price for the large amount of food provided

Very interesting hotel away from the city”
We stayed 2 nights in this hotel in the middle of our 8-day trip in Taiwan. It was just nice because it helped us to relax since there was no where else to go there (unless you have a car). The hot spring in the hotel room is perfect for that. The meals are also great with a lot of greens, which help us to adjust from the 小吃 we have been taking in Taipei! The only thing is that they don't seem to clean the room for us during our stay.
