Great especially to be able to get out of the overnight train from Chiang Mai, cross the road using the underpass and be in the hotel.

Clean, good location, big rooms”
We stayed in the deluxe room, the air conditioning worked great the room was big the bathroom was spacious. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily. Bed was comfortable and the facilities were taken care of well. They are located right in front of the MRT so when you arrive to the airport you can take the A1 bus and it takes you to Chakutak MRT STATION. From there you take the MRT to HUA LAMPHONG and it's literally steps away. This cost us $144thb as to the 800 thb they charged at the airport for a taxi. It's a walking distance away from China town and across the street is the grand train station so you get a wonderful view, there are also small restaurants in Front of there with great food with street food prices. The only downfall was when going home tuktuks didn't know what we were talking about when we wanted to go back we would get dropped off across the street which was fine: we didn't mind. But it's a great facility we would definitely go back.
Great location, early check-in, decent rooms and good service. ”
Having arrived at Hua Lamphong station at 07:30 we were pleased to be able to check in to our room early (at 10:30). The staff would have accommodated us checking in immediately upon arrival had a room been free. We were able to leave our bags and relax in the lobby prior to getting our room key. The room was small but adequate with good air conditioning and a decent wet room. The facilities would be 5* had there been a kettle available in the room. Late in the evening after checking out we were offered the opportunity to shower before our next train. We accepted this kind offer but a little bemused when we were told the charge for a towel would be 40B, a charge that seemed to be created out of thin air after a long pause. Overall a good stay and we would recommend this hotel for people travelling through Hua Lamphong.
I have been staying at this place for a number of year. I like it for a number of reason. First is the location. Just outside the door is the entrance to the MRT (subway). Once on, you can connect to many areas of Bangkok directly or do an interchange to the Skytrain. In addition, it is only a short walk (10 minutes or so) from the heart of Chinatown and the Riverside area. If you are taking a train, the hostel is just across the street from Hua Lamphong station. Second are the facilities. With the exception of the slowest elevator in Bangkok, if not all of Thailand LOL, the facilities are clean and modern after the relatively recent update. I have stayed in both the 4-bed dorms and 2-person doubles with ensuite baths and found them both to be better than average. Third, there is a small cafe downstairs that makes very good coffee and food and reasonable prices. Finally, there is the staff. I have found them to be both helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Clean and fresh, friendly staff”
We stayed one night at @Hualamphong hostel on our way from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Staff were friendly and the room was incredibly clean and fresh. The restaurant downstairs has a nice and calm atmosphere, and serves lovely freshly made smoothies and coffees (as well as food that we didn't try much of - but what we tried was fine, mich better than your run of the mill hostel fare). The location is good if you want to explore Chinatown and the Yaowarat walking street market, although it's on a very crowded intersection that can be a bit overwhelming when you've just arrived in Bangkok. If you are planning on getting a train to Chiang Mai, @Hualamphong is ideal, as it's across the street from Hua Lamphong station.
Perfect location right opposite Hua Lamphong 15 m away from Metro entrance”
Perfectly clean and very quiet. I slept very well. From the international airport, just step into the train, change at Makkasan into the metro going straight to Hua Lamphong station. There you go up at exit 1 or 4 both take you up Rama IV road. Inbetween both entrances is @ Hua Lamphong. For food itˋbest to go to the station (reenter the Metro and exit on the other side ) just opposite the station are a lot of little restaurants. For 50 Baht you get delicious food.
ideal location ”
Perfect location, we arrived in Bangkok by air and the hotel is easily accessed by public transport, we spent the day exploring and the following day left for Cambodia, the pick up was just across the road at hua lamphong rail station. The staff were very helpful, food in cafe great, rooms clean, bed comfy, this is a good value option for a budget stay in Bangkok and ideal location if travelling elsewhere in Asia, by train or bus.
If you’re looking for something clean and efficient in a great location, look no further. As a solo traveler needing access to public transportation, having Hua Lamphong station right outside the door gives you access to the whole of Bangkok. The restaurant downstairs has odd hours, but the staff is friendly and the food is pretty good. I would definitely recommend.
Great option to explore Yaowarat without breaking the bank”
Probably can't beat the location - just in front of the Hua Lamphong MRT station and walking distance into the heart of Chinatown (Yaowarat). Honestly it's quite a bit nicer that what you might think of with the word "hostel" in it. The room is a good size with a big bed, a spacious bathroom and a nice balcony. Didn't use the facility but they had a gaming room. The room service food was good but a tad expensive given that it's Thailand and if I was just a little less lazy I could walk outside and buy something on the corner. Still, highly recommend it as an inexpensive home base during some BKK exploration.
Pretty good stay”
It is located near to the Hua Lamphong station, hence it is really convenient if you're heading for the train the next day. Staff were very nice. They allowed us to shower before we board our night train at their toilet, except that we need to pay a minimal fee for their towels. Food is pretty good. As it is a hostel, we booked a 4-bed dorm for 3 of us, but it's all good, cause it's a all female dorm, which we shared with another lady for the night. There's dining places & convenience store around the hotel too.
I stayed at hua lamphong hostel for one day because I had a train I needed to catch to Cambodia the following morning. It only took me 3 minutes to walk to the train station. So if you are planning on heading to Cambodia or any other train out of hua lamphong, this place is a great location. Facility was pretty okay. Staff was excellent. No other comments.
Good for only a overnight stay”
Stayed Hua Lamphong Hostel for 3 nights in Sept 2017, it was satisfactory for us, particularly the location. The hostel located just right next to door 1 and 4 of Hua Lamphong MRT Station. Pros: Location 5 stars , near to MRT station and China Town too. It's clean and well maintained Cons: Facilities like kettle, hairdryer etc, you'll need to request from the desk and pay 500 baht upfront as a deposit for each item Unwelcome attitude by the staff when we were requesting for additional glass for the hot water. One of the female staff at the desk was very helpful upon our arrival and she explained to us the necessary transportation(Shuttle Boat/Bus number) to/from Grand Palace/ Wat Phon etc. However, she was kinda unwelcoming when we were requesting for extra item, such as glass etc. Only 1 room key provided, could be a pain when your roommate wants to go out and coming back at late night. Overall, it's a very good hostel for an overnight stay and catch a overnight train to other places like the others said.
Located just outside the MRT exit and opposite the roundabout of the Hua Lamphong railway station. The single rooms were small, but had more facilities than you could bargain for - and how much space would you need for 1 person and 2 bags anyway. I counted at least 6 conveniently accessible power sockets in the room, and there's also a minibar to chill your items you could purchase from convenience stores around the hostel. Self-service laundry is available behind the cafe.
The location is so good is between Exit 1 or 4 of the Hua Lamphong Station. Staff is nice, we arrived early from a red-eye flight, wasn't able to check in early but was able to leave our luggage in the hotel and use their facilities. The only takeaway is that elevator is way too slow. We opted to take the stairs when going down. No free breakfast but there were a lot of cheap restos around the area. Would 100% recommend!
Convenient and friendly staff”
This is my second time staying at Hua Lamphong Hostel. I satisfied with my stay there last year with my friends, and I brought my parents to Bangkok and stay at the same hostel again this time. we enjoyed staying at the hostel, because their staff are very friendly and helpful. They prepared nice vegetarian food for us upon request, and we really appreciate that. I will recommend to all my friends about our experience at Hua Lamphong Hostel.
This is a good place to go everywhere. Because it's stay on Hua Lamphong station that is very easy to: China Town, ChiangMai Market, Hua Lamphong Station, ... Nice location. But about the facilities, not much light enough. That made the room it not clear. But anyway, the price it's suitable. Thank you.
Not very good but worth to try”
+ Pros: located between gate 1 and 4 of Hua Lamphong MRT station, at the opposite side of railway station; about 10 minutes walk to Chinatown; friendly staff. + Cons: air conditioner makes a loud noise unless reducing temperature lower than 23 degree (so ridiculous); super slow lift; facilities are quite old. I think this hostel might be a good choice for people who want to explore Chinatown (and Wat Traimit) in a few days. It's a hostel but there are double rooms for couples.
A hostel in a great location”
located right next to mrt hua lamphong, it's easily accessible to china town, khao san road and chatuchak market; but when change to bts for siam or chitlom etc, you need to exit the mrt station, then walk along a bridge outdoors for a few mins before you get to bts sala daeng station. hua lamphong itself isn't really a tourist place, there's not much around. the room is clean; a bottle of water is provided freely everyday; room cleaning service is included; tours are provided; no lifts available; hair dryer and adaptors can be rented. we joined a 1-day tour to go to the folded umbrella market, amphawa market and see fireflies. the tour was 850 baht (pick up and drop off from hostel), but if join it in khao san road (meeting poing at khao san road), it's 600 baht. the tour was ok, no tour guide provided and the travel agent forgot to provide a taxi service to take us back to the hostel...
We only needed somewhere close to Hua Lamphong station as travelling to Hua Hin next day, so for that reason only, the place was perfect. 2 minutes walk. Not the greatest hotel, but Clean room, good little restaurant, and nice staff, would totally recommend if just wanting a night!
Convenient and nice staff”
My flight delayed and I arrive the hostel around 2:30 a.m in the morning. When I check in, the staff is very nice. The hostel is just opposite to the railway station and we choose this as we went to Chaing Mai, it is very convenient. We can walk around Hua Lamphong daytime and then take the night train. One small eposide is that we print the railway reservation sheet but do not print the ticket, however, when we check with railway information, they advised that we have to print the ticket and asked us to go to the Internet shop outside for help. We went and unluckily the shop closed for 2 days due to Chinese New Year. Therefore, we went back to hotel and ask for help. The staff (which I have forgotten to ask his name) but I noted that he just recently went to Macau, he is very nice and helped us a lot! We try to enter the web of the railway station but failed to login, he helped us to call and reported the problem. The website owner sent us the railway ticket via email and the staff finally helped us to print the ticket! I really appreciate the help of the staff!
I always like to stay at Hua Lamphong Hostel. I find the staff most helpful. The last time I left for the international airport, I forgot my camera in the safe and I phoned from the airport and they sent the camera to me via taxi. The staff are always very helpful with directions and getting taxi.
