Excellent value, great location”
For the price paid, you certainly get your value’s worth. Well located right in the heart of the Xitun shopping district of high end department stores and shops and a quick 15-20 minute walk away from the famous Fengchia Night Market, where there is plenty to eat and shop for bargains and miscellaneous trinkets. The Taichung National Theater is also about a 10 minute walk away. The hotel is situated right on the busiest street of the city (Taiwan Boulevard) on which the brisk and convenient BRT bus line runs. The hotel itself seems to have been renovated with contemporary decor. All the usual amenities are provided. The bathroom is disproportionately large compared to the rest of the room. It even has a nice little hot spring-style tiled tub. The foam mattress (unusual in the Far East) can be an “acquired taste” for some and the room could use a few extra electrical sockets. The complementary underground parking and decent breakfast offerings are an added plus. In sum, this is a hard-to-beat bargain in Taichung’s very competitive market.

Basic but good for a simple night's stay”
Booked this hotel as it has its own carpark (in the building next door). Friendly staff, location is good if you don't mind a little walking, room is basic but adequate, and clean. Friendly staff, breakfast included was a voucher to a nice nearby fast food restaurant.

Photos can be deceiving.”
Well, from the pictures we expected a new modern hotel, but it turned out to be not quite the case. Nice lobby, but the room is old and small, bad soundproofing, the in and out of guests can be heard clearly in the room so we didn’t have good sleep. Funny that the bathroom is super big, but the room is really small. So for the price I’ve paid for, i don’t think it’s worth but it’s New Year, I don’t have much options because everywhere else is fully booked. Other than this, actually all is fine. The bed is comfortable, breakfast is food voucher from shop nearby or McD which are quite nice, the hotel staffs are polite and helpful. Right across the street is the Maple Garden Bus Stop makes it convenient to travel. It’s a good hotel in general, just expect it to be older than how it look from the photos.

Such a scam ”
I booked a room at the hotel listed, but when I got there, I was told that they had no more rooms at that hotel and took me instead around the corner to a much cheaper and older hotel. The AC had to be put on 10c just to stay some what cool and the room looked into someone’s house. Avoid this hotel.

Nice hotel with big room”
It was a pleasant stay at the Huang Shin Business Hotel. There are buses going to the main shopping districts and connecting to TaiChung rail station as well as HSR Taichung Station. The famous Feng Jia night market is also within walking distance. We were surprised about the spacious bedroom and bathroom. Most importantly the hotel overall is very clean and neat, which makes our stay very comfortable. The common area provides complementary computer and internet access, and this is a bonus point. We will recommend this hotel to our family and friends who are going to Taichung for business and vacations.

Good place to start for Feng Jia market”
We chose this hotel as the base to set off our drive to SunMoon Lake and walk to Feng Jia. Do note there are two blocks, with Chung Kang as the newest. We are surprised with the size of the room, especially the shower/wash room, which makes the stay comfortable. No issue with parking, especially they have motorized lift to stack the cars, japanese style; just beware of the tight and steep entrance/exit to the basement carpark.

The hotel is just 10minutes walk to Fengjia night market & 5 minutes to major shopping malls. It is also near a number of bus companies which have buses serving major cities in Taiwan. The staffs are really helpful and friendly. Room is clean and spacious. I will definitely stay here again.

Clean and spacious hotel”
the room for 4 was very spacious. the minimalistic and simple design of the hotel room helped to make us feel very comfortable. the breakfast was a simple spread but enough to fill our tummies. the location was not exactly near feng jia night market but not far either. we thought it was good to have a slow 15-20mins walk back to the hotel after filling our tummies at the night market. other than that, it is situated near a bus stop which have buses to the other tourist spots in taichung.

Lovely Hotel with large and comfortable room”
The room in this hotel are big, spacious and furnished with a big, comfortable bed. The bathroom is well furnished with a wide range of toiletries and there is an unique bathtub for the shower without wetting the floor. The hotel is located along a street where there are shops selling the famous tai yang bin. The breakfast place and car park are located in another hotel outlet nearby. The breakfast has a wide variety of western and taiwanese dishes.

Simple Clean hotel with friendly staff”
It won't be considered as a centrally located hotel. Yet, it's 5-10 mins bus ride to the downtown depending on traffic condition. There is a huge nightmarket just nearby and took 20-30 mins to walk but it's easier to just cab over. If you like shopping, there are actually two great dept store nearby. 5-10 mins by walk but we always take bus as they are free of charge. There is also a bus terminal for you to commute to Taipei airport and rest of Taiwan. Staff are very friendly. They greet you in the morning and they chat with you about your day when you return to the hotel. It is one of those old style hotel. Yet, the bed are big and toilets are clean. very spacious inside and the wifi was fast. There are many food ideas in the neighborhood. When we explore the area, there are many nice residential. We bought fruits in a food stall around the corner. There is also a famous place for pork knuckles. You may also want to try the traditional Taiwan breakfast as the hotel bfast is not good.

I stayed in a family room. The room is big for the four of us, we have ample space to walk around. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in at about 12(once the room was ready) as we reached the hotel early. I would come back to this hotel if I am going taichung

Second stay at this hotel. Great location, near one dropoff point of free shuttle to/from high speed train station. Staff are friendly. Rooms are spacious and generally clean with large toilet. Walking distance to the famous Fengjia Night Market.
