Unpleasant smell in the room thru out the stay. Location is good if you are coming from YUNGU station. Price of food in restaurant is expensive.

A Must for the Ultimate Yellow Mountain Experience”
This hotel is located down the hill from the Brightness Peak. There is convenient store at the hotel and they also have a restaurant. There were warm coats in the room for the sunrise excursion and the room was clean and had everything we needed (all the hotel basics). We stayed 2 nights and it was perfect for 3 days of hiking and allowed us to see most of the Yellow Mountains.

My brother and I were in the dorm. It was very tight and congested. It was one of the cheaper options.

Good Location ”
In Mt. Huangshan , there is not much choice for the traveller. The location of the hotel you want depends on your own personal itinerary . Baiyun is of a great location since it is near GuangMing Ding . They have a nice canteen for outdoor campers. They can improve on their food,& cleanliness .

expensive ”
I stayed in Xihai Hotel for the first night then moved to Baiyun Hotel as we had planned. Paid the price but felt cheated. The room was old , dirty and the toilet was clogged. The walls was thin and as we reserved the economy room, it was away from the main building. I don't advise as it was raining during my stay. The weather was almost like 4C and I had to walk through the rain to the next block without any shelter. The food is satisfactory but just the normal selection. I guest like other travellers, I would say we had no choice as this was one of the best as we were descending down from the top and needed a night stay.

One of the better hotels on Huangshan ”
After having stayed at five of the hotels on Huangshan now, I think Baiyun is one of the better ones. The standard twin room was pretty decent compared to the other hotels, and it actually wasn’t freezing in the room without the heater on (we were there in early February when it was -16 degree Celsius overnight). Staff was actually friendly and breakfast was decent. The only thing I didn’t like was that people would smoke in the hallways even though they are not supposed to.

Nice hotel with good food and facilities ”
Everything is more expensive on the mountain and think Baiyun did a good job to make visitors feel at home as compared to other hotels on the mountain!

Hotel Room far from main lobby”
Was shocked when our allocated hotel room was located another block which was a good 5 mins up and down walk of stairs from the main building. In the winter cold, this walk proved to be a toll for family travellers.

Nice hotel at the top of the mountain”
Our room was small and when we just checked in, the smell was bad. When we rang the front desk the attendant came quite quickly and opened the window for us and let the fresh breeze came in. It was ok after that. The room was clean and comfortable. It was raining and they had large umbrellas and winter jackets/ raincoats in the room for us to use free of charge. People at the base of the mountain may tell you not to take umbrella s up there as it is too windy. Ignore such advice. Because you walk through a lot of trees, it is not windy, only if you climb up to the top of the open areas. Be aware that from the ropeway (cable car) to the hotel, there are a lot of steep steps to climb. The food at the hotel is quite expensive and not that much varieties but you need to appreciate that those poor workers have to carry the supplies on their shoulders from the cable car to the hotel, up many hundreds of steep steps.

False advertising and rude staff”
Sold a room that doesn't exist and the manager incredibly rude when we questioned it. Everything is overpriced on the mountain. Sunrises and sunsets aren't common as they experience fog three out of four days. Dorm rooms have a kettle so you can byo noodles to save money like everyone else if you do stay.

Expensive, but worth the money”
We are students, therefore we do not have loads of money when travelling. However, we splurged on a private bedroom instead of dorm beds and could not have been happier! The twin room was really clean, with clean bedding, complementary tea, a beautiful glass shower and a nice view on the mountain. The breakfast was included in our reservation, which is nice, and even though the buffet-style breakfast is not very warm, it is incredibly welcome. We feel like it was worth spending more money for more privacy, comfort and luxury.

Very basic and smelly rooms for a lot of money”
Rooms were extremely basic, smell like Raid and the beds are rock hard. The location is great though and I don't think any of the other hotels on the Lou train are any better. When you consider that everything needs to be carried in by hand, I get it. It takes about 45 min from the cable car to hike to the hotel, so pack light. You can store the bulk of your luggage at the tourist transfer bus station at the base of the mountain. I highly recommend you take advantage of this.
