Good option”
Everything is more expensive on the mountain, but we were very happy with this place. From reviews, it seemed like the best option. Room was big enough and clean. Bed was comfortable. If you're staying on the mountain and want clean and comfortable, this is recommended.

Nice Hotel on the Mountain”
We stayed in the basic twin room at the North side (south side rooms looked much better). It is connected to the main South building via an indoor bridge, or the outdoor pathway. The room was still nice and cosy. The toilet was quite small, and had a matte translucent glass; may be slightly uncomfortable depending on who you're staying with. Bed was very comfortable. Basic amenities were provided, including kettle, bedroom and bathroom slippers, shampoo and soap, towels, and they had down jackets if you didn't have a warm jacket with you. Internet was fast too. Breakfast was basic, but we had a very good dinner. Price is not cheap, as most reviews have mentioned, be prepared to pay a premium for everything on the mountain. You will understand once you're here. However, compared to the other hotels which we ate at, Xihai hotel's restaurant had the best food choices for its price. Service was good as well. We ate the main restaurant next to the lobby instead of the all-you-can-eat-buffet. Overall a very comfortable stay. We had stayed at another hotel on the mountain too, and Xihai is definitely cleaner and newer. The only down side was that from the Yungu cable car station, you would have to (slow) hike about 45mins-1hr to get to the hotel. Xihai Hotel is also not very close to any one particular peak, but it has a very central location especially if you're hiking around the east to middle areas of the mountain. So you can still hike to all these areas, with just a little more effort. We were really fortunate to catch a sunset at Danxia Peak, and a sunrise at the Refreshing terrace. It was fabulous! If you don't mind hiking a little more, but staying at a comfortable and clean hotel, which provided all the basic amenities (the other one we stayed at didn't have soap and shampoo), choose Xihai!

Beds is clean, the bathroom is perfect, the staft are helpful, except the price is a bit too high si”
If just the hotel can sale the room rate at more "value for money", for myself i think since we are not too much enjoying the hotel (for sleep only 5-6 hours), I think its a bit pricey. It also sad to see the extremely hard work the porters put into lugging every last bit of food and other items up the mountain in order to make our stay comfortable. I think, the hotel must come out the creative idea to improve this porters life not by asking them to carry items and towel ; the lugging of towel and food should be in a smart way and also improve the life of the porters.

Nice hotel”
Highly recommended to stay one night in this hotel if you are going to Huangshan. Food is excellent at the ala carte restaurant, though a bit pricey. Breakfast is good too. Nice, spacious and clean room.

Beware of dorm room confusion!”
I booked one night in a dorm room at the Xihai Hotel during my five-day stay in the Huangshan Scenic area. As with the other hotels on top of the mountain, the building is massive, quite nice to look at, and very expensive. That last part can be forgiven (and will be by you, too, I assure you) after you see the extremely hard work the porters put into lugging every last bit of food and other items up the mountain in order to make your stay comfortable. You're paying for their future knee surgery. That said, this isn't necessarily a review for Xihai Hotel because, as I found out at Xihai itself, this hotel does not actually have dorm rooms at all. I made my booking here on Agoda and paid in advance, but after trudging into the lobby after a full day of hiking in the rain I was informed that my booking there was null and void because they don't even have dorms. I was shocked and confused and terrified since it was too late to make a cable car trip back down the mountain, annoyed that I had booked and paid for a room which didn't apparently exist and worried that I'd have to blow a huge amount of money on upgrading to a private room. After some more confusion, the lobby staff called another, somewhat nearby hotel and confirmed that my booking was actually for that hotel, even though I had never heard of it. So, if you book a dorm room at Xihai through Agoda, your hotel is actually the nearby Paiyunlou Hotel. So here's a brief review of that. There's a coffee shop on premises with surprisingly reasonable prices, though the snack/supply shop is on the expensive side. The room itself was solid, with a TV, ample storage and electrical outlets, wifi, space heater and air conditioner and bunk beds that were comfortable enough. You share a bathroom with your suitemates. There's a 200RMB room card deposit and the lobby staff were not at all friendly nor very helpful. But, it's a relatively inexpensive, comfortable enough place to stay on top of the mountain that's onl

Excellent hotel- not what we were expecting”
The hotel exceeded our expectations. We had read many reviews about hotels on the mountain- that they were overpriced, dirty and rude staff. Not the case for us. The hotel came to about $100 US Dollars (£80) and it was brilliant. Chinese breakfast buffet was included. The room was great- warm, hot shower and quiet. The restaurant was priced but expected, but the food was really good. We ordered lots of food and it came to 300 CNY or £40, which is nothing really. The only thing I suggest is not to have any coffee or drinks at the hotel it's a big rip off. The next hotel over has a coffee bar and is within reason and good coffee. Highly recommend if you can get the deal we did! Very happy!

Great location”
Booked here after seeing many negative reviews at some other hotels on the mountain. We had an excellent stay in the older part of the hotel (which did not seem old except for the reception area). The restaurant was, great, as was option for post - hike massages.
