One great experience !”
Dreaming of going to Maldives got us to Huma instead. Considering the cost for us Filipinos, I can truly say that it is not practical to spend 20K plus for a night but we understand why they have to charge that much. Here are the reasons based on our experience: 1) They will have to pay for the van for the RT Airport transfer . 2) They will have to pay for the RT Boat transfer 3) considering its an island resort, all of the supplies there will have to be transported by a boat 4) The maintenance of all the rooms and resort facilities must be very costly . As per interview with Sir Jay, before Huma could start its operation last 2013, they were hit by the strongest typhoon Yolanda that damaged almost 80% of the resort. So the owner have to rebuild it again ( imagine how much was the cost of the construction?) And now they will be closing the resort to the public by August to end of September to have a renovation again and will be opened to the public by October 2017. CONS: buffet is expensive which is P2500 per pax but it is practical than ordering there by menu. Beach sand is not that fine. PROS: Upon arrival, they will hand you a cold towel and will be greeted by a song and drinks. They transferred us to our room by a buggy in which you will see the beautiful scenery of the place. Our room was very comfy and very colorful!! It was my first time to dip in Jacuzzi and it was awesome and the view!! We are not just lucky to experience the beautiful sunset as it was raining in the afternoon. The bathroom is also big and there is an indoor bathtub with the toiletries L'Occitane which is very nice not to bring home :) Overall, definitely I will recommend it to all future guests and will be looking forward to come back again . More promos please :)

A true paradise”
We stayed at huma island resort for two nights as an early birthday celebration for my boyfriend. Getting there is not easy. We fled to Manila then Busaunga, then from there a car and a boat. All the hassle is well worth it though .....that place is a true paradise. The environment and the resort itself took our breath away. So beautiful, and its not touristy nor commercial...we had such a great time there. Food was nice, and the pool was clean. Staff super friendly and helpful. Would totally recommend to any couple who want to spend some intimate time in a close to private island resort.

Best service I've ever experienced”
Big thank you to all the staff in Huma island resort for making us feel warmly welcomed during our stay. They are the most friendly staff I've ever met. The water villa was fantastic with a great view. The restaurants are awesome, especially the sandy room where we had a romantic private dinner. Great stay, highly recommended.

Excellent time here. ”
we stayed here last month. It was excellent. From May at the booking in the front desk, who was very and genuinely helpful. Then to the island itself. The positives were..... A) the island itself is lovely. B) the staff were very good. C) the room is lovely, with lovely views from the jacuzzi/balcony. D) the view from the balcony/jacuzzi is lovely. E) i liked the free bottle of welcome wine, and the slippers and the hats. Nice touch. F) we loved the romantic set up that they did twice for us. G) I liked the Indian chef taking time to talk to us, and nice that we got a little snack when going. H) we had a small problem but the resort manager handled it very well and turned a negative into a positive. I) the staff was very good overall, but the 2 that deserves a mention on the activities.(sorry I forgot there names.) (a small lady, and the guy who took us snorkelling). J) as it was out of season it was good for us it was very quiet and felt like it was our own island. K) the housekeeping staff were very quick at coming if there was any problems. L) I liked that the general manager was active and his presence was there. M) I liked that they they went to the next Island to get some ingredients for a meal that I had requested. N) fast internet, clear tv signal and loads of channels. (And liked the speakers in the bathroom) O) the area around by the spa and the open floor was lovely idea/design. P) good to see a lot of fish in the shallow part for the snorkelling. Now the things that I feel they need to improve on... 1) the boat taking us to the island.(I was told the other was on repair, but still they should have got a better temporary boat. 2) the decking in the main part is warped, and needs replacing. 3) there is some tiles that need to be replace round by the pool. 4) the rope fence around the balcony could be slightly higher. 5) no pork as a Muslim owner. I feel customers(especially Filipino) like pork and should be allowed as you need to thin

Very Good but has room for improvement”
The best thing about Huma is its staff. They were excellent, and bent over backwards to be able to deliver service. Having experienced other luxury places in Palawan, I would say that the value for money of the accommodation needs to improve. Other than that, the food and services were reasonably priced. The SPA facilities and services are excellent. I loved that whole experience. It would be good for Huma to invest in its own diving facilities and Dive Masters. That is not quite mentioned in the website. One therefore automatically assumes that it is available but instead one needs to go another accredited Dive Shop who has a Dive Master. Perhaps as we were there on low season, only one restaurant is open per night. I understand it on an economy of scale. But there's limited variety on each menu. I can still tolerate that but what I didn't get is that in that limited menu, most of the time, one or two items would not be available. For example there will be three items for dessert on the menu, but only one would actually be available. Not quite impressive for a 5 star property. The gym also needs work. One of the air-conditioning units and one of the treadmills were not working. Jet Ski facilities were available but when we went only one was also functioning. So while we wanted to use two so some of us could jet ski together, that was not possible. Having said that, the snorkeling area around the beach front was good. The food and services were commendable. Overall, I had a very good experience. And again kudos to the staff for the fantastic service.

Huma-zing”
When we arrived in Busuanga, a staff assisted us right away to the van waiting for us. They gave us cold towel and bottled water. The land travel was one hour and boat ride was less than 30mins. And the moment we arrived in the island, they welcomed us with a song and a welcome drink. They then drove us to our water villa and we are pretty amazed with the view while riding the buggy. It was one of the most breathtaking view we have ever seen. It was that good! The room is so colorful and so comfy. The jacuzzi is already filled with water when we arrived which we enjoyed right away. The view while using the jacuzzi is again, so breathtaking. It was one of the most memorable vacations we had. We will surely comeback

Long Wait For Breakfast Food”
At the time of our stay July 24, 2017 there is only one restaurant in the island that serve their free breakfast. I waited 45 minutes for my food to arrive - very long wait although there are only us & other group [6 people] in the restaurant at that time. It's everyday and not just this incident and as what other had reported in the past review. Food also is limited of choice some on the menu is not available. For this price [$400/day] of resort its unacceptable! Why not change your breakfast to BUFFET!

warm friendly and very hospitable staff however....”
This resort takes pride in their staff who are very hospitable, friendly, and warm and they will look after your every need with a smile. From the front desk staff, the restaurant waiter and chef who personally greeted the guests, and the caddy boys who will drive you around the island. Shout out to the snorkeling guy (I forgot his name :( )who went with us kayaking and took all our photos. The only negative was the fact that we noticed some of the facilities weren't operational when we were there (Nov. 2018). We were hoping to try out the jetski but we were told it needs repairs. We also went into the main infinity pool out the front of the main restaurant but it was quite dirty and looks it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Other than that, the water villa itself was amazing! Very clean and well maintained, and the jacuzzi was the best. One thing I noticed though, the shower drain in the outdoor area where the jacuzzi was directly goes out into the sea.

Huma island is a rip off... short of a scam”
Pros: 1. Going there is convenient with Air Juan seaplane, avoiding the hustle of airports and land travel. 2. Staff are friendly, no doubt. 3. Water Villas are ok. Cons: 1. There’s nothing else to do but swim on the beach. 2. Only 1 restaurant is open with a very limited menu, and very expensive. 1k for a cheeseburger, 300 for a bottle of beer, 150 for a coke in can, 750 for a shawarma. And here’s nothin special on it. Taste is so so. McDonald’s cheeseburger is way way better. 3. Spa service is way off the grid! 4,500 pesos per hour of traditional massage. I mean, it’s only 300 per hour home service anywhere in the Manila or nearby provinces. Make it 4 times in a resort might be acceptable, but not 4,500 per hour. 4. There’s practically no guests at the peak of summer on a weekend. We were just 3 couples booked in the whole island. 5. The place is not children or elderly friendly. No railings on walkways. Want a nice vacation? STAY AWAY FROM HUMA ISLAND!

Good but way overpriced”
Beautiful and peaceful place for relaxing, with almost 360-degree ocean views. Over-the-top spa service and luxury rooms from which you can see the corals and fish. Extremely attentive phillipino and foreigner staff put the charm needed to make up for a oversized building with too much concrete. Some facilities were closed and some activities not available. Few guests gives you the feeling of being on a private island with many personnel at your service. Good wifi all over, life music for dinner, diving to the shipwrecks with very skilled instructors. Basic breakfast menu, not luxury cuisine. Despite its highest price in the area it is far from being the number one as the advertising suggests

Great time with some drawbacks”
Pros: Great reception and entrance Room is as beautiful as the pictures Views are great Offer activities Cons There was an excess of staff there which would not be an issue if they actually were put to use. For example: Our air conditioning didn't work when we got there. The jacuzzi wasn't working. They forgot to bring our bags when checking out until our second reminder. These are all things that would be fine if it was understaffed but it was not. -Food was okay for its price. -Not many people there. Overall I got the Island Resort experience I wanted so do not get too hung up on the cons. There was simply a little more they could do to make the experience even better.

Overpriced, not worth the money, hidden charges. Felt that the owner cared more about gouging. Us ”
Looking forward to a romantic week in our private jacuzzi suite on the water. Invited another couple friends of ours. Who booked the adjoining room. Booked this 1 year in advance. The. Four of us have plenty of discretionary income so cost was not an issue!!. My wife is from the phillipines and we have traveled extensively throughout the country. We. Know what things cost and were appalled at the prices at huma !!!22 dollars for a cheeseburger 3 dollars for a can of soda 12% tax added on addition to everything, may not seem. Unreasonable to those in the states until they go to other equally remote islands in the phillipines and realize that huma is triple or quadruple the price. After a week in huma we. Felt as if we had been raped by the owner who charges 2 to 3 times the price for everything / day trips/scuba diving /excursions. We will never go back to huma!! So many better cheaper places to go in the PI. Where you dont feel. Ripped off by the owner

Truly Phenomenal”
I loved every minute I spent here. The service is first class all the way from the land pick up, delivery to resort by boat, the greeting at the dock and being escorted by golf cart to the villa. There's so much to do....snorkeling, paddle boarding, dive trips, beautiful pool and beach, archery, cooking class.... I didn't want to leave!

Facilities fail the beauty of the place”
Don’t expect too much with their facilities. They may seem to be indulging in the photos but in reality, they disappointed us. Considering that we are the only guests in the whole island it is just right to expect utmost care and preparation. Here are my notes that you should consider: - aircon needs to be fixed when we arrived. It is set at 28 deg which is hot for a place exposed in sun - heater is not working - pool is dirty - phone is not working. we need to get the receptionist’s phone number so that we can contact the front office for any needs - wifi is bad. though data is very fast since Globe tower is in the same island - lack of choices in the menu (food/drinks) Nevertheless, the beauty of the place compensates everything negative mentioned above.

Not value for money”
We had our honeymoon at Huma last January 2017 and overall it was "okay", the room was amazing because of the view and your own Jacuzzi right outside your balcony. The Food was alright, nothing great and you don't really have a choice as it's a private island means getting out of the island would be a hassle. The island hopping options are minimal too, the don't focus on the main popular tourist attractions. Our stay was nice but I would not come back again..

Great facilities poor service and management ”
Me and my girlfriend stayed in Huma from 24-27 of April. First of all, it costed almost 500 USD per night so we expected quality services and experience but I didn't get any of it. Landed on the island but nobody's there to pick us up, already sent two email to confirm the transportation so we waited for 40 mins, reported to the manager there but said nothing just like oh I will check on that and never hear nothing from them, not even a sorry. Extremely expensive food, tasted normal....no hot water for shower room and Jacuzzi for two days (we only book 3 nights) complained but took 6 hours just to wait for management to confirm they r truly broken , ask something always take more than 30 mins to get it sometimes they don't even get back to you....the way they handle things were very disappointed.....overall great facilities but very bad menagement and service ....will never go back again. NOT MONEY WORTH ...THE DISCOUNT ON THE SITE IS A TRAP

Food ”
Food is overpriced. Having said that since its a beach resort guests are expecting to have fresh seafood but unfortunately when I ordered fish its not fresh and had that strong smell. Accommodation rates are already on the expensive side but yes its a luxury resort hence i expected to have a luxury service as well. For the breakfast i expected it to be at least buffet. I was quite disappointed on the first day as i’ve requested for a special arrangement of rose petals and balloons and a slice of cake i paid 1.2k and it dint really turn out as I expected and the cake was not even there. When we arrived noticed repair guys fixing the aircon and asked them if they would be able to fix it otherwise we’ll request for another room but they said they will be able to fix it. So we settled in and waited 2hrs but the room was still warm. Cutting to the chase we transferred to another room- time wasted and receptionist mentioned that there were no rooms available when there is.

Great location, great holiday”
Loved the island, the beach, the reef. It is overpriced and the service is Filipino (slow and unreliable), but we had a great time. If you are looking for a short tropical break, do this. Also we did it in November so had the island to ourselves:)

Pretty Resort with nice facilities and friendly staff”
For a premier resort, it has several ticks in the box with nice rooms/cottages and friendly staff but falls short on a few things like quality of food and some non working/ faulty facilities.
